Moving the board?

Okay, so here's the thing. Raindrop was nice enough to create us a board with an address attached to the new Kloteck website.

So, I'm curious if you guys wouldn't mind moving? I'm not sure how long it would take to move active threads to the new site, and I don't think/know if this board's skins (colors and images, anyways) could be applied to it, so Raindrop will have to clarify this for me:X. I would also make sure that when you created a new acount there, your post count there would be edited to match your old account.

If you have any pros or cons that you would like to bring up, post and I'll add them to the lists here. For now, here is what I thought of so far.

Pros of moving:
- Our own address
- Start fresh
- No worrying about Proboard's rules (like not being allowed to speak non-english, although I don't know why we'd do that hereXD)
- Possibly cool new board additions that you wouldn't have here

Cons of moving:
- We might not be able to reproduce the skins/look that we have here
- You would have create a new account
- It might take me a while for me (the admin) the get used to the admin area
- I'd have to edit everyone's post count (I'm lazy, lulz)
- It might mess up activity/create confusion in the move
- People might simply not want to move and abandon both boards/get pissed at me
- Members might have trouble getting used to the new design/layout

So...what do you guys think?

FORUM CAN BE BACKED UP COMPLETELY, IF IT WAS TO BE HACKED. INSTANT RESTORATION!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!

- People might simply not want to move and abandon both boards/get pissed at me <--- There is that chance, but if you are dedicated to Kavs and this Comic. I doubt there would be a MAJOR issue here.
- Members might have trouble getting used to the new design/layout <--- Meh, will only take about 2 weeks or less to get used too.

I don't like the sound of it at all. How many character threads, RP threads and so on would have to be moved, and new member's will get confused if you refer to old board threads, and the ridiculous effort of changing everyone's postcount etc etc etc, it's not good.

Change is good, and the skin looks really cool. However, the confusion alone might cause enough mass chaos and general mayhem that the move isn't really worth it. I'm all for it, but I can see the potential roadmines that can cause this to implode and fall over.

Well, I think I'd be ok with it...but wouldn't it take forever to move? I mean, maybe we should stay on here for as long as it takes for the other site to be set up, then we can all up and move.

Now, what will happen to the posts? Do we have to complete recreate them...?

Why move, exactly? Sorry, but I gotta say heck no. Cons heavily outweigh the pros. Or maybe I'm too attached to this place the way it is.

In general... It is all up to you folks. In my opinion, it is the members choice as to what should happen.

It might be a little confusing, but if we use our amazing brains and not fight it, I bet we could get used to it. Right now I think the skin is a trance dark.

DUDE!! NEATZ!!! I -REALLY- like that skin there, even if it's only black and white. I agree w/ krystal: I'll follow you to the ends of the earth and back (maybe even to the moon, but let's not get too crazy XD ).

I have an idea for the move, though. If you'd like to separate us into groups of like... 25 and have one group make up their accounts and character profiles at that site. After a while, it'll be clear who's not coming over and then send the next group. This way it's easier on Kahvs when she changes the post counts.

Another idea- who ever wants to join, just do it. It can be like.. I dunno, a more advanced RP site? Or maybe it can be the official site, and Kavsie.proboards78 can be like a... fun zone? :/

I DEFFINATLY like the sound of having everything backed up in case of a hack- that's a MAJOR plus. And like krystal said, having the forum with the name in it *IS* more professional. Besides- you peeps who are more reluctant to change sites-, it looks and functions a lot like Proboards anyway.
