Kaijin peeked out of his burrow and smiled. Finally, night has come. His eyes were overly sensitive to the sun, so he lived a nocturnal life. It had the tendency to be lonely, but the timber had an idea.
Orange eyes glowed in the moonlight as the black timber padded silently through the sand. Others might think him to be a mere shadow, but he was solid. Skinny, but solid. His black pelt had rings of gold on his legs, ears, and tail. He was quite a sight to behold.
Kaijin picked up his pace when he saw his destination. Earlier that day, he'd come across a tall boulder that would make the perfect lookout post. He stopped when he came to it and tensed his leg muscles. Then, he gracefully leaped onto the boulder, sitting down at the top.
Audits swiveled back and forth, listening for any sign of company. He sniffed the air. Nothing. He closed his eyes and let out a beautiful howl, letting everyone know he was here and wanted company tonight.
When the howl had faded onto nothing, Kaji lay down, his head up. Nothing left but to wait...

A hybird wolf/dog lifted up one of her black/brown ears.
' A howl for companionship. Hmmm.'
She stood up and ran towards the sound as it echoed among the rocks. She quickly yipped to the one who howled.
" I'm coming, just wait. I'm com-ahhhhhh!"
She had fallen off of the high-tide lands and into the water. She got up and shook herself.
" I guess I'm not used to the surroundings here. Hmmm."
She tried to climb back up to where she was and slipped in the mud. Yet again, she was in the water.
After about a dozen tries of climbing up the muddy wall and slipping down again, she barked out for help.
' Help, please come soon."

"I'm coming, just wait. I'm com-ahhhhhh!"
Kaijin lifted his head higher, sitting up, and looked around. A little ways off, he saw a wolfdog having a little trouble. He jumped off the rock and ran to her aid.
"I guess I'm not used to the surroundings here. Hmmm."
Kai smiled nervously. A blind one, eh? "Excuse me, miss?" he called out. "You seem to be in a bit of a predicament. I'll help you, so hang on."
Kai looked around for a long branch. He didn't want to risk getting stuck as well. He didn't have any lick, so he took a breath, closed his eyes, and jumped down to the fae.
"Ok, now just hold still. I'll get you out..." he gently grabbed the scruff of her neck and began to climb out of the ditch, avoiding the really slippery spots.
After five long minutes, they were out. He let go of her a few feet from the ditch and flopped down, exhausted. Good thing...I'm so strong... "You alright, miss? My name is Kaijin, by the way." He smilied and wagged his tail, though he knew she wouldn't see the act of friendship.

Keylo studied the males tone of voice and knew that he was friendly.
" Thank you for helping me out of that ditch. My name is Keylo and I need to find the wolf that howled to me. The sound came from over there."
She pointed her paw in the direction to where Kaijin came from.
" So if you'll ex- Wait. You're that wolf! So, how are you? What do you want to do? Wait. I should tell you more about me. Then if you want, you can tell me about yourself. Is that okay with you?"
((It's shorter than my other one. Sorry!)

Kaijin chuckled. "I'm fine, though a little tired from dragging you out of the ditch. Don't fret over me though, I recover from such things quickly." He smiled a little. "I'd love to know you better, Keylo."
Kaijin looked up at she sky and smiled. She moon was still rising, so they had plenty of time before that damned sun showed up again.
The black timber sighed slightly and adjusted his position to a more comfortable one. He loved meeting new friends.

" I come from a land, far away from here. My mom didn't suckle me, and therefore, my sister Nukia talked to her and father. She was slaughtered by them and my other sister, Sandshore tried to avenge her but became mentally challenged. Then I tried to avenge Nukia but was blinded and scarred in my right eye, as you can see. I then ran as fast as I could, away from my parents, my past, and the corpse of my sister. Now, the innocent blood of Nukia and me has stained the land where I came from and my eye. I will never go back to the land, where my sisters and my blood now stains."
Keylo cried after her story and told Kaijin to tell his story. She positioned to listen to his story.

Night on the beach...and it was such a lovely night. The moon shown brightly overhead, and the waves lapped gently at the shoreline. Reina been out this night munching on the little crabs that scurried about the white sand beach. They were far from her first choice of foods, but one had to eat what was available; which was not much here lately.
Reina shook her honey colored pelt, ridding it of the sand that had accumilated in her hunting. Her brilliant green eyes peered into the night, wondering what the night would bring. Hopefully friendlier encounters with other creatures than she'd experienced lately. Just as she was remembering a brief unexpected encounter weeks earlier, a howl arose further down the beach. Her ears perked at the sound-some lonely creature was calling out. Well this was a change. She had not run into any friendly canines in a while, and though her personality seemed to clash with everyone she came in contact with, she was willing to give this a try. She too was lonely.
She headed in the direction the call had sounded from, and before too long, observed what appeared to be a dark colored male wolf pulling another from the muddy banks of the shore. Her curiosity drew her on, and the chatter from the two sounded friendly.
"Is everything alright here?" she asked as she neared the two, her voice strong and confident for such a small wolf. "I heard a call earlier," she stated, stepping around the two wolves who were resting after their ordeal, one, the smaller female, seemed upset.

By the time Keylo's story was over, Kai's ears were flat on his head. Man, how can I tell her my story? It's pathetic! No sobby parts in it! Kaijin sighed.
"Well...my life has been painfully easy. I was born along with a brother and sister. Nami and I were really close, and still are. My parents were great. Dad taught us how to fight and hunt, and Mom taught us manners. When I was a year old. I got tatoos, as is the family tradition. I almost died from a nasty infection, but I made it out ok. I've been more susceptible to infections and the like since, though. Yeah..."
Kaijin was ashamed. His life had been so EASY! How could he look this fae in the eye. It wasn't fair that he lived such an easy life while she suffered like she had. He looked at her and smiled weakly. "I have no idea how hard your life must have been, mine was so easy. I'm sorry."
"Is everything alright here? I heard a call earlier."
Kaijin looked up to see another fae. She was pretty. He smiled and wagged his tail. "Everything's fine now. We're just spilling our life stories." He chuckled. "I'm Kaijin."

" Hello, my name Is Keylo."
She didn't turn arund for she had a very important question to ask Kaijin.
"Kaijin, can I ask you something very important?"
She the turned around, greeted the other female and looked up at the moon.
" Nukia. Why?"
She then walked a little ways and howled a long, sad, and mournful howl.
After at leat a minute of howling, she let it echo among the beach, forest, and the place where she was born. She then sang a song:

I'm waitin in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
Theres nothing but the rain
No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but theres no sound
Isn't anyone tryin to find me?

"Kaijin, can I ask you something very important?"
Kaijin was about to simply nod, but he caught himself. Blind, right... "Of course, Keylo. What is it?"
"Nukia. Why?"
"Hmmmmm...?" Her question confused him greatly. Nukia? He listened to her sing, lulled by the beauty of her voice. He smiled and relaxed his muscles, just let the song take him over.
When the song was over, he sat up and sighed. "Keylo..." he startec, careful not to rub salt in a possible wound, "...Nukia. Who is that?" He cocked his head. "And what was your question?"

"'Tis a pleasure to meet you. I'm Reina," she replied simply.
Reina felt a bit awkward, as she had missed the stories the two had shared, and felt like she was interrupting. Especially since the female wolf-dog who called herself Keylo seemed so upset. Her story must not have been a pleasant one. Then Keylo stood and began her mournful song.
Reina threw a hesitant glance towards the larger black male who called himself Kaijin.

"Nukia is my long dead sister."
She stopped herself from crying and continued, " My parents killed her. Oh, my question is... will you be my mate and have pups with me? We enjoy each other's company, need each other's love, and we care about each other. I even forget that I am blind when I am with you."
She looked into Kaijin's eyes and really wanted him to say yes.
(Kinda short, sorry)

Reina had been interrupting. When Keylo came back, Kaijin's focus was on her, waiting to hear what the question was.
When the female finally answered, Reina's jaw dropped. She quietly slid back into the shadows. She did not need to be here to interrupt these two. She slunk to the edge of the treeline and vanished within it's protective cover..
(ok...Reina out of the picture...)

Kai was a little sad when Reina left, but Keylo spoke and regained his attention.
"Nukia is my long dead sister."
Kaijin sighed sadly. I was afraid of that. "I'm sorry for rubbing salt in that old wound, Keylo. Now what was your question?"
"Oh, my question is... will you be my mate and have pups with me? We enjoy each other's company, need each other's love, and we care about each other. I even forget that I am blind when I am with you."
Kaijin's jaw dropped about a foot at that question. "I...er...um..." he was lost for words. "Well...I just met you. Can't we get to know each other better? I mean...sure, I know your past, and I like you...but knowing each other for one night isn't enough to say we should settle down together. Not for me." He smiled and sighed. "How about this...come live with me. We can get to know each other better, and let love come naturally. Wouldn't that be just grand?"
