Benjamin hopped on his feet and took to a light soar, spiraling down to a perch still out of their jaws, but where he could turn his keen yellow eyes on them. "Chrr, be that as it may. Eating is one thing. Showing off for pretty girls is another, chrr."

Guardian frowned. "And catching for others is in another group of its own as well." He replied. "I suppose that would be between the two, correct?" He flicked back his ears, smiling at the possible silliness that others may think of this conversation.

Benjamin ruffled his feathers and narrowed his eyes at the she-wolf with him. "Chrr. She seems capable of fending for herself. Chrr."

Guardian smiled. "Of course, but that doesn't mean I can't help out once in a while. It would still mean the cost of another animal's life." He felt no regret, though the thought that he had to kill to live did make him a little dissapointed in himself. But what had been done was done, and there was no reversing it.

He bounced down a flag pole, eyeballing the she-wolf with sharp eyes. He chrred idly as he cocked his head this way and that, peering at them both. He wouldn't risk coming down to their level, for fear of losing his head.

(Wonder where Smartie went...?)
Guardian acknowledged the bird's cautiousness and watched him step down the pole. He smiled warmly, though he flicked his ears uncomfortably at the thought of being mocked at when speakin with a crow.

[ Me too LOL ]
He chanced coming to the ground, a good few feet away from the two of them. He pecked idly at the ground, eyeing the hybrid, seeming to make up his mind. He flapped quickly and took off from where he had been, landing squarely on Guardian's head. It would keep him from lunging and hopefully deter his lady friend as well.

Guardian snorted, a grin on his face as the bird perched on his head. He let out a small laugh, looking up at him. "Is my head comfortable?" He asked.

[lol, no I don't mind.]
Benj turned a sharp eye down to the mutt and chrred, pawing gently at his fur. "Chrr. Quite. Chrr."

"Ok, stay there. Just don't poop on me or anything like that." Guardian chuckled softly.

Donnatrix watched from the shadows. He was intrigued by what he saw. The bird was sitting on that fellow's head, and he didn't mind. Donnatrix couldn't fathom it. Why? Why didn't he just eat the bird? Donn was surprisingly lacking in the area of being nice, polite or friendly to other creatures, but he was very good in the art of spotting prey, and it lay dead nearby. The two apparently had no interest in it. How to get it? He stood downwind, so he hadn't been noticed yet, but he had to make a move quicky. Could he outrun the mutt should there be a chase? Did he claim that meat, or could Donn take it without fear? He immediately removed that second option. Nothing came free in the world, at least to his eyes. Certainly, nobody had ever done anything for him, and he in return did nothing to help others.
Donn kept foward silently, still in the dark, his pale, grey eyes on the dead meat. How? How, how, how was he to get at it? And why was it there? Surely the canine with the bird on it's head would have eaten both by now. For hardly a day passed by Donn's life without the need to eat, for he was fast, but not strong, and had difficulty finding and killing food, as he had no pack. Perhaps some could look on him as a pitiable creature of the darkness, but most others rejected him. And Donn hated life in return.

Guardian flicked his ears and saw something out of the corner of his eye. He flicked his ears, seeing the stealthy shadow approach. He smiled and walked over, trying not to disturb the bird on his head. He dipped his head to the stranger and pushed the prey he'd caught earlier forwards, towards the starving stranger.

Donn ducked down low on instinct, and backed away a bit, as he was noticed and approached. Now the prey was being pushed towards him. He crept forward slightly, and sniffed. He looked up at Guardian, curious, suspicious, not understanding the motives behind this. He also got a better look at Guardian on the whole, and he was convinced that if the dog decided to turn aggressive, he would be able to snap Donn like a twig.
Donn was a starved creature. The prey smelt delicious to his nose, and he resisted the temptaion to eat it. He couldn't after all, that would leave him vulnerable. Perhaps it was trap? A clever ploy to catch a larger portion? Donn crouched there, half of him wanting to run, the other wanting to lean forward a few more inches and scoff down the meat. Then there was his curiosity to the whole thing. He decided to ask the motivation behind this. After all, if the dog did not answer his question, then he would know it for a trap. Donnatrix was well percieved to the speech of others, and was generally able to tell some lies from the truth. After all, most of his pack had lied to him daily. So, he asked Guardian, and spoke for the first time that night. "W-why are you pushing this to me?" he asked. He broke his eye contact, a little embarrassed by his strong accent.
