The female wolf moved carefully around the busy town of Rakine Port. Scavenging for food was her business here; otherwise she would be back in her small part of the forest which she claimed as her own.
She quickly darted across the open street towards the dock. Her large form could have been mistaken to the passing humans as a large grey dog. If they knew it was a wolf, who knows what would happen.
The wolf's name was Blix; She often came to the port for food, for her hunting skills weren’t exactly the best. Okay, maybe she didn't have any hunting skills but at least these humans left plenty of food around.
She looked around at the workers unloading they’re late nights fishing catch. She sniffed the air, catching faint traces of the scents of the sea and it's many delicacies. Most wolves’ would have found the smell pungent and nearly overpowering, but not to Blix's ‘ broken’ nose.
Licking her lips she walked forward. Weaving her way between the fish filled crates. Nosing around she found some fish that had fallen from an overfilled crate. She picked up as many of the slippery ‘devils’ as she could fit into her large mouth and ran back to a place where she could eat in privacy.
She found a secluded place in the shadows hidden from view by empty crates, and spare fishing nets. She started to eat her catch. With each bite the satisfying tang of sea salt and blood filled her mouth. With her lack of smell also came the lack of taste. But she could still relish slightly in what she ate, and for that she was thankful.

Jekyll and Hyde survyed the area with an air of pride surrounding them. They walked along the dock with purpose to keep the medalling forest creatures from stealing the fishermen's catch. They had only been in Rakine Port for a couple of days before a man took them in and gave them a home. Now they were treated as the trusty guard dogs of the Port, and that suited Jekyll and Hyde for guarding came naturally to them and the men had noticed. With their shiney new black collors on Jekyll and Hyde sniffed the ground and scanned the perimiter of the Port, Jekyll going to the left and Hyde to the right.
A couple of escaped fish lay on the wooden floors, "I think I diserve a snack" thought Jekyll and went to eat the fish. As he stepped closer the smell of another lingured in the air. Immediately Jekyll was on alert and followed the scent to the edge of the port. He hesitated before following the scent, he only had to walk a few more steps before he came apon the wolf hidden behind the bushes, "Who be you?" asked Jekyll only able to see the dark outline of the figure. Before the wolf had time to reply Jekyll threw back his head and called for his brother.
Hyde was searching the other side of port and just lay down for a quick nap before the howls of his brother was heard, "How does he always know?" snapped Hyde angerly to himself before trotting over to Jekyll, "What's all this fuss now?" snapped Hyde with a hint of humour, "got yourself caught in a fish net again?" he laughed and sat down at the edge of port. Hyde was the smaller of the two and also the more laid back.
"We have an intruder" growled Jekyll pointing his snout to the bushes. Hyde stood with interest, "Oh really" he smiled, "Well come on then, show yourself, don't mind Jekyll, he's all bark no bite" he joked and waited for a reply. Jekyll ignored the comment and waited for the animal to come into the sunlight so he could see it properly.

Blix looked at the two Dogs staring down at her. She did not like the sound of the one called Jekyll, but the other, Hyde, he seemed okay. But it should be best to stay alert.
She had finished her fish and her stomach was at ease, she stood up and stared at the two males calmly. She snorted at them and stepped forward. ' My name is Blix, and I am no Intruder to Rakine Port. I have come here most my life and I will not be told otherwise by two pups.' Blix was not aggressive towards the two dogs but showed them no fear.
She stared at them, but her eyes were laughing. She is not an aggressive wolf but they didn't know that, and if they wanted to interrupt her meal she wanted to have a little fun. She smiled daringly to see who would act first. I hope they don't take me seriously she thought to her self. Taking on two male dogs was not on her to do list.

Hyde laughed at the 'pup' comment, but Jekyll took it as an insult, "Listen here" he snapped showing his rows of sharp fanged teeth, "We are not pups" he growled while Hyde rolled around on the ground, Jekyll watched his brother feeling his pride sink into the ground beneth him, "Well, sometimes I wonder about him, but I am not a pup nor sould I be treated like one". Hyde shook himself off and pushed his brother aside, "I'm Hyde" he smiled a non threatening toothy grin, "Well m'lady, I shall be the first to inform you that it is an honour to be in the presance of such a fine young lady such as yourself" and he bowed with a humourous smile, "Your majesty" and gave Blix a wink, "Don't mind Jekyll, he'll come round".
Jekyll shook his head at his brothers display, "God Hyde, act like an adult for once" he sighed, once his brother had finished with the indruction Jekyll shoved him aside and spoke to the she-wolf, "Well, Blix" he growled accusingly, "I think its time you move on, my brother and I are the new guard dogs in town and we aren't ganna let some free loader like you take our masters catch" he snarled with a bravado expresion on his face.
Hyde looked at his brother, "Jekyll I think your collor is cutting off your blood circulation" he said with a concerned look, then broke out laughing. Jekyll, clearly irritated by his brother snapped at his hind leg to make him be quiet. Hyde jumped to the side and stopped laughing. The two sat in silence for a few moments before Hyde spoke up, "Look, Jekyll, all I'm saying is that she was here first, it is only fair" he stammered, a little off balance from when Jekyll snaped at him. Jekyll just glared at his brother then to the wolf.

Blix grinned at Hyde. He was a dog with a sense of homour, and when he winked at her something in her seemed to rise. She shook herself at the feeling. 'Majesty? Now I could get use to that.' Blix muffled a laugh and smiled at the dog.
Now Jekyll was getting a bit too aggressive for her liking. He seemed to be taking his newly acquired job a little too seriously. I might have to bring him back down to earth she thought to herself. Blix felt an argument coming on, and before she could stop herself she opened her mouth and replied to Jekyll’s Previous comment. 'How dare you insult me Jekyll. I am no 'free-loader' and if you think you are better then me, I suggest you spend your life the way I have instead of having others pamper you.' Blix snorted, obviously annoyed at the canine. 'Your brother is right I do believe your collar is on too tight' she laughed. ‘I’m not leaving Rakine just yet, I’m still hungry.’ She looked at Jekyll annoyance. ‘So either lighten up, or get off my back.’
Blix walked towards Hyde. She smiled teasingly and winked, walking close enough that she could feel his warmth against her. And then started off back towards the dock, hoping to pick up some more food. ‘Now that Hyde was cute.’ She said to herself, as she poked around some fallen crates.

Jekyll was bewildered at the wolf's manner towards him, "Hey get back here!" he snarled. Hyde laughed once more, Jekyll was used to getting his own way and his expression was priceless, "Yeah Jekyll, she ain't some free-loader, shes my queen" he snickered loud enough for the she-wolf to hear, then leaned in closer, "dude, lay off" he growled, "No wonder you could never get a mate" he laughed with his humour returning and with that he trotted after Blix, "Hey I know the best place for some grub he called, it's a bit of a secret, you'd have never found it" he grinned as he caught up to her.
Jekyll was stunned by the responses he got, his lip curled as he bounded after the troublesom wolf, "Get off this port" he snarled with his hackles beginning to rise. Hyde stared at his brother and rolled his eyes then wispered to Blix, "All bark no bite" and smiled at his brother, "What ya ganna do? Tear us to shreds?" he mocked. "No" replyed Jekyll, "But if it comes to that.." he warned.
Hyde snorted, "Yeah right" and walked on, though his brothers temper was beginning to get on his nerves and he felt a bit edgey.

Blix was warming to the male, Hyde. He was funny and kind, but his brother well, he seemed to be the complete opposite. She tried to ignore Jekyll's threats but she was beginning to question what he could or in this case might do to her. She walked a bit closer to Hyde, feeling a tad safer beside him.
'So where do we get this 'grub'?' Blix asked with a smile. The fish she ate before only tamed her stomach, it didn't appease it. Her Dark blue eyes twinkled at Hyde. 'So do you have a mate?' She asked questioningly, hoping not to sound to intrusive. There was no use getting too comfortable around a dog that may have a jealous mate.

"Ahh grub" smiled Hyde keeping his steady gaze ahead of him but his ears alert to the sounds of his brother, "It's probably the best fish from the days catch" he said licking his maw, "They put it in the creates at the back here to be loaded on the vans to be taken away but usually they don't put the lids on tight enough and I can get into it" he grinned a cheeky, mischievous grin, "Jekyll and me discovered it a couple of days ago" he said and felt calmer when he saw Jekyll sulking off into his masters cabin, "Jekyll's gone to calm off, well be good for now" he said as he turned the corner to where stacks of creates lay.
'So do you have a mate?'
The question sounded unfamiliar and he felt himself blush under his fur, "Thank god for fur" he thought then realised he had taken quite a while to reply, "I, urr, no" he mumbled quietly, for the first time feeling shy, such an easy question and he was choking on it. "Nah I haven't really met many of the female species to be honest" he said, "Lived up knowing only to guard so I didn't really let many dogs into my life, just me and Jekyll" he said with a happy smile. He gazed at Blix for a moment before blushing once more, "Err, do you... you know, have a mate?" he asked, but the question came out in high and low muffles, quickly he turned away and looked back at the creates, totally ignoring he asked the question Hyde grinned widely and said, "So, take ya pick" he looked back at her but was unable to keep his gaze and looked at the floor again. Hyde hadn't been as smooth as he'd had liked to have been.

Relief flooded through her at Hyde's answer and the fact that his brother had left. Cute and single she thought to herself with a grin. She noticed that he wasn't looking at her directly. She smirked.
When Hyde asked the same question Blix, tried to hold in a giggle. But before she could answer Hyde, She was shown the wonderful sight of fresh fish. Her stomach growled hungrily. Walking towards one of the crates she tried to 'jimmy' it open with her muzzle. 'Ow!' Blix yelped, backing away and rubbing her nose with her paw. ' Damn splinter.' She told Hyde. She smiled a dazzling smile his way. ' And no I don't have a mate either.'
She looked back at the crate. Hyde made her feel giddy. She was falling for the male, she knew that, but it was too soon for anything serious. Wasn’t it? She walked over to Hyde and sat down. 'Okay it's your turn to open one.' She said. 'And if you get it open, it is because I loosened it okay.' Blix joked.

Hyde moved closer as Blix yelped but relaxed when she appeared to be alright. "Yeah splinters can be annoying" he said, making conversation.
' And no I don't have a mate either.'
He smiled but quickly covered it with a laugh.
'Okay it's your turn to open one.'...'And if you get it open, it is because I loosened it okay.'
Hyde smiled, "Yes of course" he grinned and nuzzled at the same create. His muzzle found a crack and used his strengh to lift the lid up, "Lady's first" he gestured to the overpowering smell of fish, "Looks like we got some salmon" he said with a lick of the lips. He pushed the lid further back so it would be easier to get into, "Better hurry though ay, if the master catches me he'll sure get mad" he gave a toothy grin and waited for Blix to take the first helpings.

Blix smiled at the dog. 'I so helped with that.' she laughed as she went forward to get some fish out of the now open crate. She nudged Hyde playfully as she passed him. 'You have got to stop spoiling me.' She said as she took out two large salmon. 'I won't ever leave' She joked, as she ripped into the scaled skin of the salty fish. 'And I don't suppose your brother would be to happy about that.' she looked at Hyde and winked. 'Are you sure you’re related to him, you two are complete opposites.' She said, with a dribble of salty blood running down her muzzle.
Blix stared at the Doberman, her eyes glinting with laughter and a spark of something else. Lust. But she had lived alone for such a long time, she didn’t want to give herself away to the first good-looking dog she met. But there was something different about Hyde. I guess I would just have to stick around and find out what it is, she thought to herself. She wagged her long silver tipped tail, as she stared at Hyde.

Hyde went in next, only grabbing the one fish, still full on his breakfast.
'You have got to stop spoiling me.'
"Nonsance" he laughed and continued eating.
'I won't ever leave' ... 'And I don't suppose your brother would be to happy about that.'
Hyde just snickered at this comment, "Jekyll is too big for his boots" he laughed, "Don't worry about him, he'll come round, trust me, stay and see" he said with a dazzaling smile. He liked this wolf, but also reminded himself he only just met her, time would only tell what had in store for the two.
'Are you sure you’re related to him, you two are complete opposites.'
"You know sometimes I wonder" he grinned as he finished off his fish and went to nose the lid shut again, well as best he could. "Nah Jekyll is a great guy when you get to know him" he said protectively, having great admiration for the doberman, "It was just unfortunate he thought you were stealing so it'll take some time but if I say your worth the friendship he'll just suck up his pride and be friends with ya too" he reasured her with a wink.
At that moment Jekyll stalked round the corner, "I thought you'd be here" he grumbled, "Stealing more fish ay? And bringing Hyde into it all" he snapped shaking his head, "I thought you had more sense Hyde then hang round trash like her" he snarled. Hyde growled at his brother, "Don't call her that, you don't know anything" he snapped, his humour completely leaving him, "I happen to like her and I think you should give her a chance" he growled and stood before his brother with a deadly gaze. Jekyll just growled and sat down, "Where you from wolf? Do you know Hyde? Because I really think you should know someone before considering them your friend" he snapped mockingly and stared at Blix, "Well? Where you live? Belong to a pack? Or are you the loner type?" he snarled with a sickly smile.
Hyde snarled at his brother, "Shut ya trap" he yelled and advanced on his brother with malice, "She got nothing to explain to me, unlike you I don't pry into others lives, but that's probably because I have one of my own unlike you" he growled with meaning. Jekyll said nothing, his stomach fell into the pads on his feet but he didn't back down from his brother, he just stood there, staring at him.

‘It’s all right Hyde.’ Blix said as she advanced forward toward the snarling canine. She nuzzled him and looked at him pleadingly. ‘ Please don’t fight.’ she asked. She turned her gaze to the other dog. ‘ I hope you’re pleased with yourself.’ She said ‘ your brother just finished defending you and this is how you repay his love and trust.’ She spoke calmly, but annoyance was clear in her voice.
‘ I have no pack okay. And yeah I do live alone. Just outside of this port and in the forest.’ She snorted and looked the Doberman in the eyes. ‘ Now please, stop this nonsense, I mean you and your brother no harm, and if you truly see a threat in me, then I suggest you tell me now. But I warn you if you keep insulting me, you will pay the price.’ Blix’s gaze bored into Jekyll’s she would not be treated like this by another canine, she had the right to be here just like any other wolf/canine did.
Blix kept her eyes on Jekyll not trusting him enough to turn her back on him. ‘ I hope your right about him ‘coming round’.’ She whispered low enough just so Hyde could hear her ‘ cos I don’t know how much more of this I can take.’ She inched closer to Hyde and sat down defiantly. She knew one thing for sure; she was not going to be pushed around by this big headed dog.

Hyde nodded at Blix, "I know he will" he said plainly but kept his gaze on his brother.
Jekyll snapped at the two, feeling alienated, he reared and snarled feeling he must protect himself and his large teeth were a good way. "What's wrong with you Hyde?" he snapped completely ingnoring Blix was even there, "We are blood brothers, and I swear if you hang round that wolf I'll have nothing to do with you" he barked warningly, "We're here to guard this place from things like her" he growled, "Where is your loyalty? With our master or her?".
Hyde thought for a moment, "Can't it be both?" he said simply. "No" snapped Jekyll. Hyde sighed, "I think your making a big deal over nothing, look you and me stole from these creates just the other day, so are you saying you are disloyal? Look Jekyll if it had been only me who stole today you wouldn't care. Now I'm not going to share the masters catch with just anyone but she is now my friend and friends get to do what we do, which is take some fish when the humans aren't looking" he said with heart, "Jekyll I think you should give her at least a chance, for me" he emphsised for me.
Jekyll rolled his eyes, "You two are perfect for each other" he spat and trotted off in a fude.
"That's his way of giving in" smiled Hyde, his humour gushing back in waves as he sat back down and yawned lazily, "He'll get better" he grinned and lay down infront of Blix, rolling on his back and exposing his belly like a pup. He tuged at her ear playfully as the sun dipped beneath the hills.

Blix sighed with relief as Jekyll walked off.
'he'll get better.'
'i hope so.' blix answered. She really didn't want to harm either dog, but if worse came to worse she knew that she would not run off with her tail between her legs. Her thoughts were distracted by Hyde tugging on her ear. She laughed at the sight of the adult dog rolling on his back like a playfull pup. She placed her paw on his stomach, ' you are as silly as a pup.' she spoke fondly of the dog.
Blix removed her paw and bowed to the Doberman, ' My king.' she said with a wink towards Hyde. Then she lept upon him and rolled around in the dirt with the playful dog.
She laughed and stood up, than she lowered her front half and wiggled her rump in the air, tail wagging. She smiled, tounge lolling and breathing hard. She pounced but went to far and landed flat on her face a few feet past Hyde.
