The white rabbit dared not turn its head to see how close Ecclesaistes was to her. She knew he was close, because her movements were clumsy, slowing her down. Mud splattered upon her soaked coat. Also, the weight of the water absorbed by her pelt slowed her down even more. Things were not looking good for the mammal. The forest was a blur as she sprinted along the terrain, although twigs, rocks and leaves were proving to be far too difficult to dodge, and she was close to tripping.
Skidding here and there, she quickly moved through Arnlan, knowing that it was in fact only a matter of minutes before she was grappled by the male, lost her balance, or became tired and collapsed. The rain did not help. Ecclesaistes was inching closer... and closer... but she pushed on anyway, hoping, praying, she would not be caught so early on in the run. If only she had been able to adapt to the lands. She wasn't exactly old, but wasn't very young either. But she would no doubt be captured today, and so her death was near.
Unlucky for her, she had not noticed a bundle of leaves that blocked her path. As she treaded over them, she flew up into the air, and crashed along the ground. Her form went sliding along the slurry muck, matting her entire white body in brown sludge. There was no hope of her getting up and sprinting off now. Surely she would be caught, and Ecclesaistes would be the first to succeed, in obtaining a rabbit to bring back to the Alphess.
--
His burrow was not far from here, and soon, he thought, his mate would get her feed, and he would be able to curl up next to her, and be safe. His eyes widened some, as he bobbled along the terrain, only barely managing not to fall into the forest debris that littered the mucky earth. The black creature, in his haste, did not notice the female running ahead to cut his path. If he had known she was going there, he would have diverted his path elsewhere, but, alas, he was unaware.
He did not even stop to think of where that other predator was. Black rabbit still thought that the azure female was behind him, when she popped, seemingly out of no where before him. Shocked, the rabbit tried to half, but could not. He thrust himself to the side, trying to slip out of reach. Muck kicked into the air, as he rotated to face the way he had came from, no doubt speckling the she wolfs face. But, the mud was too slippery for him as well, and he collapsed in a heap on the ground, half way between Akisame, and Lucian.
He was indeed, trying to turn and dive into the bushes behind him, but obviously failed. His eyes scanned his burrow, and he dropped the food from his mouth and uttered a silent cry into the air. He wanted to go into his den, and sleep. Not this. Not now. Whimpering, he tried to get up, but the mud seemed to suck him to the earth, and no doubt in this short time, one wolf would dive on him before he could get footing and run off. If they didn't, well, they were being awfully stupid to give him an opportunity to escape.

Ecclesiastes' paws thudded almost silently upon the Arnlan ground, a rhythmic addition to the flurry-like downpour of liquid which rained from the sky. Expressionless eyes gazed unblinkingly at the rabbit, head lowered and small puffs of breath pluming from his ajar maw. The rabbit was full of fear. It knew its death was coming. Everything in the prolonged silence, the atmosphere, told of this.
Perhaps if Ecclesiastes had been a normal wolf, he would have pitied this rabbit, and the desperation to live one more day, to see another sunrise. But his heart had long turned stone-cold. A rabbit's life did not mean much to him, if anything. There were so many of them in this land.
He did not see the bundle of leaves either, until the rabbit tread upon them and went flying up into the air. As her pure form slid across the ground and gathered all the mud, Ecclesiastes leapt forward, seizing her in his strong jaws and holding her against the ground. Using a paw, he swept backwards with it, snapping its neck. As cold as his heart was, he was not quite cold enough to let a rabbit suffer. A quick and sure death was best. He was not one to play with his meals.
Carefully scooping the furry corpse up in his jaws, he went into a fast lope, covering the Arnlan ground as swiftly as possible. He avoided the direction where Akisame and Lucian had been, and swerved around them. Why he did this? He did not know. Perhaps he would distract them.

(( |OoO| oh my gosh! ^^; so sorry for the lateness...i really am))
Lucian saw his oppertunity at this catch. The fat rabbit was off of his feet and skidding around in the muck. Earth flying upon Aki's cerulian coat and spattering the near by trees and leaves. Lucian bared his fangs and with a jolt of energy lept out from the bushes. His teeth bared at the obese rabbit who was soon to loose his life. His muscular frame almost seemed like a torpedo out of nowhere when the lept from the bushes. His ears were tucked tightly to his neck and his paws were noted for landing together swiftly. He made sure that he was as areodynamic as possibe.
He landed just before the rabbit knowing the ground would cause him to slip and slide. He took advantage of this fact and spun upon his forpaws and aimed just directly behind the rabbit with his hindlegs. He skidded a few feet, as he did so he lowered his massive jaws down to where the black rabbit was writhing to get its grip on the earth. Mud also sprayed as Lucian gripped the hard ground with his claws and came to a complete stop right above the rabbit. A tortourous smile perked his bare teeth and his upcurled lips. "May darkness fill your life now little one" Lucian lunged down with his mouth wide and his jaw muscles ready to clamp down upon the small rodent and crush its tiny bones into nothing.

Just as the wolf leaped from the bushes, the rabbit had turned to face him. Motion seemed to slow down, and as the great beast did some what a twirl before him, the black rabbit uttered another silent cry into the air, attempting to alert his mate of the danger outside. Its eyes widened, as the wolf dived for his body. The putrid stench of the brute's breath blew into the fat rabbit's face, and he winced at the smell. Disgusting it was, but not that it mattered now. Wriggling around, the male black rabbit tried to free himself of the mud, but could not.
Then everything was a blur. The jaws parted, and the next thing the prey felt, was the fangs of the wolf penetrating his skin, sending pains throughout his body. Another, final cry was cried and the animal went lip. Blood seeped from its wounds as its body was crushed under the force of the powerful jaws. Cracking and splitting of its little frame would be heard to those who were listening out for it. The black rabbit had found the darkness Lucian had promised before he sealed it in his grasp.
--
Lying in her den, with her babies, black rabbits mate stirred. Faintly had she heard him cry to her, but she shrugged it off first and second time. But, the third time, the final breath of her mate came to her long ears, and they erected on her head. Licking each of her babies, she then hopped to the entrance of the den, and peered out. Her little form was pure black, and she would be hard to see against the dark background of the cave. She was skinny, fast, but now, weak from lack of food. So desperately had she needed the grub that her mate was bringing back to her. Now, she would not get it. Sitting there, she observed as the powerful wolf with the green mane clamped down and crushed the black rabbit so easily.
A frightened squeak erupted from her, and she retreated back into her den. No doubt the two wolves would have heard her, it was a really loud noise. The pure black nuzzled into her babies, and brushed some bedding over them. If anything was to happen to her, no doubt these little ones would die. They were two young to fend for themselves. Cuddling into them, she hid them from sight by lying over them, but not in a way to hurt them under her weight. If any beast were to look in, they'd have to strain to see her form.

Akisame watched as the rabbit came skidding towards her. She raised her head knowing Lucian would jump out any moment to catch the obesed mammel. Mud sprayed her chest and to her she watched the black and green wolf dart out from the bushes and snatch the rabbit in his powerful jaws. Impressed maybe. However she did not show it. She had helped him catch his prey, now it was time to find hers. The male rabbit's last dying breath entered her lobes and she turned around. Akisame's body shook vigoriously ridding itself of mud. thump. The sound of small pads against the earth was heard. The assassin looked to where the black hare had been trying flee too and remembered his den was there.
Azure eyes looked onto a new form that had emerged from the burrow. A thin female stood there. The cerulean dame sensed little ones in the den. It would be bad to kill the mother rabbit. Pupils watched as the mammel retreated into the den with it's babies. Akisame made no motion to give chase. It was a law she had made up in her mind. Killing the mother would kill the babies. The offspring would not be able to grow up and feed Arnlan. Turning she looked back at Lucian to see if he was going to be heading off now. A sway of her tail and rotation of her ears gave the simple sign that she was listening for some other prey.
"I'm gonna look for another rabbit.... The one in the den has it's own to take care of, and I preffer not to take the mother's life."
Aki spoke with a more caring voice. It was true. How cruel could one be to kill a child's mother and then sit back and let the little ones die. The she-wolf was anything but cruel.

Lucian stood to his full height as his lime green eyes peered at the cerulian one. The obese rabbit hung at Lucians poweful jaws like a simple rag doll. Lucian had a certain distaste for the fat of animals and could feel it upon his teeth and some had come into his mouth. He narrowed his eyes in attempt not to vomit or spit the dead mammal out. He could handle fat deposits up to a certain amount, and this rabbit had more than his fill of it. He stood firm and listened intently to what Akisame had to say.
"I'm gonna look for another rabbit.... The one in the den has it's own to take care of, and I preffer not to take the mother's life."
Lucian nodded in response. He also agreed with the term of mothers and children shall not be harmed reguardless of the circumstance. And clearly, for this purpose killing the mother of the smaller ones would have some effect on the pack. There would always be plenty of male rabbits in these lands, but only one female is needed to reprouduce, thus increasing the food supply for the pack of anrlan.
He dropped the rabbit onto a clean rock and started to clean its muddied fur, shaking off chunks of mudd and grass and some dried blood. He wanted to make sure that his rabbit was presentable enough for Mistress Sofika. He looked back at Akisame. " Will you need my assistance? He spoke in a low tone that almost seemed like a hum of the wind through the trees. His eyes were prortraying some sympathy for her and also a hope for a possible friendship. He thought that i would be right for him to help her since he assisted him in the capture of the fat rabbit.

Akisame looked at Lucian and watched him set the rabbit down. His offer to help her hunt another rabbit was a kind one, however Sofika was waiting and it would be unwise to leave the black rabbit there for another to get ahold of it. What if she needed help barring the animal off from it's den. That was possible, but something she was thinking her self-taught skills would be enough to get. There was a 50-50 chance she'd need help or wouldn't. I shouldn't be too confident in my abilities. It's always better to be safe then sorry.
"Your assistance would be appreciated."
She spoke with what seemed to be a smile, however as soon as it graced her maw it disappeared. The cerulean she-wolf turned around and began to run. The muscles in her body pulled her along with such ease now. The ex-assassin wanted to catch her rabbit and head back to Sofika as soon as possible. Ears rotating, and nose flaring to try and catch the scent of any rabbit nearby. Deadly silence filled the darkened forest of Arnlan once more as the female came to a halt and looked around.
Heart pounding in her chest, and a pink tongue lolled out. Eyes darted back to see if Lucian was behind her, or was still catching up. The water from the river could be heard cascading off from the rocks. The female was waiting for the prey to come to her, or at least it's sense.
((I just wanted to post that before you sammi.))

( It is OK Akisame, I was waiting for you to reply to Lucian anyway. )
Not too far off, another rabbit was scurrying around, content in looking for food, but for itself. This rabbit was a slender male, with powerful legs and a black coat stricken with light browns and greys. The terrain was slippery here like it was in all other places. However, this was one of those adapted mammals, and so had no trouble gliding along the surface of the mud. And even though it was not pure black in colour, it still managed to conceal itself in darkness. Just as well Akisame accepted Lucian's offer for help. She'd need it to outwit this cunning male.
Ears popping up, the tall male rocked onto his back legs, and scanned the territory. He had just came here, and had missed the silent shrieks emitted by the other male on recently. If he had heard them, he would never have come this way. But, in fact he had not heard, and so there he was. But, the voices of the wolves came to his erect ears, and his nose twitched to find their scents. The rain masked this however, and he dived into the shadow of a dark tree, where he would hopefully not be seen.
But as he dived, he crashed into a litter of twigs and dry leaves, which made loud cracking noises as they broke beneath the strain of his muscle mass. Glancing here and there, he waited, hoping that he went unheard. If he was to be detected, he would make a hasty retreat back to his burrow, which was, unfortunately for him, pretty far off, and hard to get to. Sighing, the inferior beast peered around the side of the tree, glaring into the darkness, waiting.

Before anything had happened, Lucian anticipated that Akisame would accept his offer and begun digging a deep hole near the roots of a large dark tree. He placed the fat dripping rabbit into the hole that he had just created and made sure it was as far back as possible and covered it with the somewhat dry ground from under the tree. He then continued to mask as much of the rabbits scent as possible. With a good swing of his large paw he scaped a deep carving into the tree to signify that that was were he had burried the rabbit. Keeping it in this place kept it from any near by insects that would decide to feast upon it as well as any other predator.
With that task being finished he also jolted off in the same direction as Akisame did. Following her close to her side. The combination of a black and green wolf next to a Cerulian fae seemed quite the sight. If Mistress Sofika were to be watching them she would most likely laugh at the assembly of the two working in harmony together. His muscular frame also rippled with the dew dripping of his pelt as he ran.
As soon as Aki stopped Lucian was right there next to her, his head held lower than hers but his ears were still perked as forward as ever as he too picked up on the noise that a small mammal not to far off had made. His lime green eyes looked up into Aki's waiting for a stragedy to where he could follow, yet allow this catch to truely be hers. He did not want to impose on her way of hunting and simply wanted to help her by her own standards.
He raised his head again to see if his eyes could pick up the motion of the small creature."what do you wish of me lady Akisame?" He spoke smoothly and without emotion, just as Mistress Sofkia had. His voice almost seemed just another whistle in the wind; but he was able to speak soft enough only for Akisame to hear, since he was not but a few centimeters away from her. His fur rustled in the slight breeze as he awaited a response from the female next to him.
(( D:< gAH!! sorry its so short ))

((Guys sorry for the sudden disappearance. I had tons of tests to study for and hadn't had time to reply. Sorry!))
Akisame listened carefully waiting for something to alert her. If she was to find a rabbit, she was curious as to where it would be hidden. Perhaps it's fur helped it blend better with the scenery then the others, maybe there wasn't one around, or it was skilled in sneaking about Arnlan and advioding predators. Either way it didn't matter, the ex-assassin would them and get her catch. If it took all night or days she wouldn't give up. Her orbs looked to Lucian as she listened to him. Since when was she in control? It didn't matter, he knew this time catching the rabbit and killing it was her job, so perhaps he was only willing to do as she said because of this.
A new sound entered her ears and she averted her gaze to the direction in which it came from. The rustle of leaves and a loud crack was heard and it signaled prey. For the femme fatal did not smell another wolf, no. She smelled a rabbit. The rain might mask most scents, but her acute sense of smell bearly anything could away from her.
"You heard that crack.... The rabbit is in that direction... We should seperate and go around for a surprise attack."
Aki suggested, though it didn't mean he had to follow. He could indeed protest and come up with a different plan, but the she-wolf began to step forward. Her bright pelt could never blend with the grays and blacks of the forest, maybe when she got old and her fur started to fade maybe then. However the female was planning on living up her youth, she dashed forward and with grace and almost ghostly silence. However if one listened close enough, they'd know it wasn't completly silent. The soft beat of pads against the earth could be heard. The muck coating the ground sloshed up her legs sticking to her fur and chest. SHe did not mind.
Akisame twisted quickly around following her sense of smell more then anything else, for the loud cracking was no longer there. There was no more rustling of leaves, only a faint scent inwhich she could track. Light purple nose low as she seemed to glide forward. Optics spotting the mammel inwhich Alphess Sofika had wanted. Darting in towards the rabbit, she only hoped Lucian was right in there too, to help block off it's escape. She could only hope, for if she had stayed and waited the rabbit would have seen her for sure and would have darted off.
The female felt her paws leave the ground as she gave one mighty bound claws ready to catch the hare, teeth now in sight. If she missed she'd only twist abit to help her land solidly and give chase. Or if the green and black male got it as it ran, it made the job easier and they would both have their kills to return to Sofika.

Ears that were propped up, had now fallen and folded back when the mammal observed the female bounded to wards it. The male had intently listened to the conversation between the two wolves, however failed to understand their strange, foreign language. Licking his ebony lips, the rabbit turned and hopped behind the tree, taking some quick seconds to think of what he should do. Run was the obvious thing to do. Where there any alternatives? Not that he could think of. So, with a powerful push from his hinds, he leaped into the air and landed quickly, swiftly dashing off into the dark.
The shadows seemed to consume him, like smoke, it whirled around him as he moved so silently. The faint thudding of the female's mitts rung in his ears, the vibrations jittered up his body, giving him cause to push himself slightly faster, in order to try and escape. If he were to move any slower, surely he would be caught, but slowly he gained speed, because the slippery, thick mud on which he tread enhanced his agility to move. His movements were accurate, and as the cerulean female edged closer to him, he made a sudden turn to his left, diving through a very small gap in a bush of thorns, Leaves and little bramble berries fluttered into the air and some nettles pricked his fur, however he went through unharmed,
Here, in these bushes, the male rabbit took a break, and whether or not the female saw him ( which she probably did not ) go to the left he did not know. All he knew was, that he was unreachable because the bush had a wide circumference, with thick coiling vines with sharp nettles jutting from them concealed him. Overhead, the canopy was just as thick, so there was no way in which she or the male to come could dive in. Unless they were prepared to slit their paw pads, or be stabbed with the many prickles. Gasping, the young rabbit rolled onto his side, taking a breather. Mud matted his beautiful pelt however no notice was taken.
There, in the nettle bush he waited, anticipating the heavy breathing of the wolves; their putrid breathes wafting to his nose. Their only way in, was to get rid of the nettles, as far as the rabbit was aware. No doubt though, with their superior minds, they would find a way...

Lucian trailed opposite path of Akisame, his pelt blended in with the surrounding areas. His lime green eyes and fur that hung into his eyes seemed like the vegitation of the lands as well. With most of the attention he gave on the hunt for the rabbit he also kept a close watch of AKisame. He wanted to make sure that this kill would be hers. He watched her movements and mimmicked them almost to an exact point. The only difference was their body structure, he was of course male and thus more muscular and heavier set than the fae.
He soon came into sight of the small male rabbit and his eyes were now focused on them as his ears turned to aki for directions. He watched as the rabbit entered the nettle bush and bared his teeth in annoyance and anger. He trotted infront of Aki and motioned to the bush. His fur itched in rage as he gently shook his pelt, making small leaves and other particals fly from his blackened pelt.
"i'll go through the other way, im hoping in wich is the way the mammal is facing and lunge to it; hoping to cause it to go the opposite direction in whence it came. There you shall wait for your kill. If this is not to work than we will need to use other tactics."
His voice held a tone of deep annoyance and frustration as he looked back at the bush and his tail flipped violently for a quick moment. When she gave his idea the concent he would move around the bush and sniff the air for the mammal's small bursts of exhaled air. This would help him determine where the head of the small creature was. He would then use this information and leap into the bush reguardless of anything abstructing his path, with teeth bared and growls of deep vibrations and loud ruthlessness.

((It's short sorry.))
Akisame watched as the male rabbit darted away from her. On trained instinct she twisted her body so she would not, stumble, or fall on her face. Her reactions were quick like a feline's as the she-wolf landed on all fours. A snarl flashed, the rabbit had disappeared from her sight and where he went she did not know. Well it was good practice hunting the mammel. She hadn't really done much to use any of her skills, since most of the prey she caught was weak and stupid. So it was good to sharpen back up. Now, the female inhaled the air catching just a whiff of the rabbit's scent. She rotated her ears hearing the faint heartbeat of the hare.
She turned to see Lucian coming towards her. It seemed he had no luck in catching the rabbit, but it did not matter. They would soon enough, catch it. Her senses told her mind, that the male rabbit was hiding in a bush, inwhich would be immpossible to get to him without getting scratched. She narrowed her eyes at the plant, but soon the black and green wolf's words snapped her attention to him. By his tone he seemed frustrated. She couldn't blame him, this rabbit was of course much smarter then the other one they had cornered, but it would take teamwork to get it out.
"Alright, I'll wait on the other side for to chase it out."
She said calmly. Knowing that she had to inorder to think clearly and reacte on time. Padding over to where the scent of the hare led into the bushes, she retreated into hiding. If Lucian got the rabbit out, he would have to run right to where the fatal was waiting to capture him in her jaws. Then she and Lucian could return to Sofika with their kills.
