A warm and loving smile lit up on Vega's face, her eyes filled to the brim with love. At this moment, it seemed like all the things around them, the birds flying above, the rabbits and squirrels foraging away, all of these things had frozen in time and the only thing that mattered were the two wolves laying there. As Drox explained his reasons for hesitation in his confession and he also revealed that he had a mate who had tragically died. Vega swore she could see the tears of his loss welling up in his eyes and she gently licked the tears off of his cheek, "I'm so sorry for your loss," she said quietly and earnestly. She meant that with all of her heart, after all, she was not a stranger to loss herself, "I know how hard it is to lose someone you love." As Drox rested his head on her shoulders, Vega smiled in contentment. Caught up in the moment, this was the only thing that mattered to her.

Drox rose to his feet. He bent down and licked her snout. He began pacing. "What do i do now?" he said. "Word will get around that I killed Acksel. The pack will be on the hunt for me. I hate having to resort to killing them. I don't like being that kind of person." He told her. But the strange this was that Drox was that kind of person. The kind of person lurking in the shadows. The kind that kills. Whether he liked it or not that was the person he was. But now that Vega had opened this door of emotions he felt different. Although if and when Drox is presented with the opportunity to kill his father he would take it.

The blonde female looked around the cemetery suspiciously, almost as if looking for the pack members of which Drox had spoke of to appear out of the shadows. Vega watched Drox as he paced back and forth, to and fro, making a path of paw prints in the dusty earth of the cemetery. The little she-wolf rose to her feet slowly, trying to think of an idea. Her mind racked as she contemplated a solution. In truth there really was no way to fix the predicament entirely, but they could buy time. "We should leave this place.....If we leave soon our scents will be long gone by the time the pack arrives and they'll be unable to track us," she advised urgently.

Drox stopped as Vega told him they should flee. He then walked slowly to the oak tree in the corner of the cemetery. He layed down as he pondered what to do. "I would just wait for them but I don't want you involved in this at all. I know them and if they know that I care for you as I do they will target you first to get to me." he said concerned.

Vega's watchful gaze followed him to the oak tree before she moved to his side. She leaned back on her haunches as she sat down beside him. As Vega listened to Drox's voice she was beginning to learn of how serious the situation between Drox and his pack had become. However, the danger involved by staying at his side did not and would not scare Vega enough to ever leave Drox. Sitting at Drox's side, watching over him, she felt that she truly belonged there with him, and she would help him face his trials from that point on and refuse to leave him behind.
She sighed softly, turning to face Drox, "Then let us run while we still have a chance to.....Run and I will run with you," she said gazing at him lovingly. Vega could sense that Drox wasn't the kind of wolf to just flee, and neither was she, but two wolves against an entire pack would be a massacre, they needed time to rethink their strategy, and fleeing would give them that time they needed.

Drox looked as though he had thousands of thoughts rushing through his head. "If I flee it would make me a coward. I've got to confront my past." he thought to himself. "But if I was to lose her..." he thought as he glanced over at Vega. "I would die." He loved the she-wolf by his side. So, it was better off that he flee.
Drox rose again to his feet. "We will flee. But you must promise me one thing. You must always stay in front of me and never leave my sight." he said in a very commanding tone. These terms were for her safety of course. If the pack learned of Vega and Drox's love for her they would kill her first to emotionally wound Drox. "I know the schemish ways of my former pack and what their plot will be. So don't ask any questions and just do as I say. Just remember that I love you and it's for your own good." He said as he walked across the beaten path through the cemetery.

Vega left Drox in quiet so that who could make his decision in peace. If he really wanted to stay and confront his pack, so would she. She wasn't exactly the strongest wolf out there, but she possessed a fighter spirit that once she had begun a fight, would not stop until the attackers were dead or retreating, or the last breath had left her body. A sudden flashback oozed its way into the back of Vega's mind, a clear morning, the birds were calling, peaceful. Vega and her twin brothers were trotting leisurely up the slopes of the mountain passes, laughing and joking as they went. But then, as the sounds of men and dogs rang out through the mountain forests, the peace was shattered.
As Drox spoke again, Vega shook her head and warped out of the flashback, 'Whoa, hadn't thought about that in quite some time,' she thought to herself. Turning back to Drox, she listened intently for his resolution. Drox had gone with her advice to leave the cemetery as quick as possible, good, she wasn't really in the best physical shape to fight an entire pack at this point. Drox named off some conditions that she had to follow for her safety, she nodded once, "Yes, I promise you. I trust you." Vega did not question Drox's judgment at all, he hadn't been wrong before, and she had no reason to think that he wouldn't know how his pack would react to the situation. She then took to her feet again and followed Drox up the path.

As Vega and Drox were leaving Drox suddenly stopped and looked towards a gravestone. On top of this gravestone was a chocolate brown cat. Drox suddenly stooped down low to the ground. He was on the hunt. Once the cat jumped from the gravestone, Drox pounced on the cat. He bit into the cats neck to kill him. He then did the most selfless thing he's ever done in his entire life, he gave Vega the deceased cat. "Here you'll need this to continue on." he told her. He knew that both him and Vega were starving. But, he'd rather Vega eat than himself.

(kitteh! :3.....*ahem* anyway...)
The entrance of the cemetery drew nearer and nearer, they were almost home-free. Then Drox stopped suddenly and Vega's large ears went up like radar at scuffling noises on top of one of the gravestones. It happened in a matter of seconds, Drox dropped to the ground, and pounced on teh cat and killed it before the poor creature even knew what happened. Drox brought the little feline over to here and placed it before her to eat. Vega smiled at him and this sweet act of kindness he had shone, but knew that they both were very hungry and took her needle-like teeth to sever the cat in half. "Here, you also need to keep your strength up too," she said nudging the piece towards him with her snout.

Drox waited and watched as Vega ate. He did not begin eating until she was finished. Then he proceeded to scarf down the feline as if he hadn't eaten in a week. He looked up once he was finished and simply said "Sorry, I was hungry." Drox then looked towards the fading sun and the path they were to follow. "It's getting late, we must depart before sunset." Drox explained to Vega. "My former pack hunts at sundown and they'll be on the prowl." He said without a crack in his voice. As long as Vega was within his sight he would never let anything happen to her. Even if it meant taking his own life to save her.

Vega ate rather quickly, she had been quite hungry from her long journey and hadn't took the time or energy to hunt for herself the past few days. After she finished she watched Drox quickly down his piece in a few bites and let loose a chuckle at his quick dining. Vega nodded to Drox as the sun was beginning to die on the horizon once again. "Yes, let us be off," she said to him as she ran with him to the entrance of the cemetery, chasing the dying sun far off on the horizon.
