Small paw pads could be heard in the dead of night. A small framed canine weaved effortlessly through the tombstones of the graveyard. His ears almost seemed to flap as he took a step. His blue colored pelt help to blend into the eerie blue hue surrounding the area. He held his head high and proud, sniffing the air every few feet and determining who and what was around.
He made it to a shack that kept the grave utinsils in it. There was once a graveyard worker, but now there was none. Grunt made his way through the cobwebbed area and found a nice spot that was fairly hidden and stayed fairly warm. He turned around nodded to himself and plopped his belly upon the floor. He layed there with paws outstreched and his eyes and ears looking forward. He could never be too safe with a place like this.
As time went on, he tried to stay awake for as long as possible before he tucked his nose into his armpit and fell asleep. His large ears were at rest but still twitching at all the sounds going on around him. He seemed to be sleeping, but that was simply a like, he was resting his eyes, but his body was ready to jump at any given warning of an enemy.

Large pads hit the earth's crust as the wolf-dog made his way through the spooky graveyard. He looked around, his bright green optics seached high and low for any sign of life. This is a graveyard!" the brute told himself as he sniffed up and down. " there isn't gonna be any life here!" he yelled to himself. He stepped on a few dead leaves that cover the ground, making him be heard. Crunch the leaves split into smaller peices.
This large wolf dog was named Sage. He was called a First Leutenant because of his past in other packs, and he always loved it when one would call him that. He was a husky/ timber, his bod stood tall, his long legs and his slim body was prefect for sledding. He used to be a sled dog. His pelt was a dark brown lining his top part of his body, and white lining the bottom. Except for his legs. One was white while the others were dark brown.
He made his way swiftly through the graveyard, he wanted shelter. Then he started to come upon a large shack, one for the tools and such. He walked around it and found a door, but it seemed to be open, and a scent hit his sharp nose. He didn't know the scent, but intended to find out. He entered the shack and let out a small howl to whoever was in here. His auds fell back as he was hit with cobbwebs. His pads continued to carry his bod through the shack..

Grunt's steally blue eyes opened within a flash as the footsteps of another could be heard. He lifted his head in the direction of the door in whence he came. He practically held his breath as a large wolf mix, he sensed, came through the door. he lifted himself up off the hard wood floor and his ears layed back upon the lining of his neck. He soon bared his teeth at the new commer and then heard the others call.
"What is it you want Maggot!"
A rather low and husky voice shouted from below the other. Grunt soon made himself apperant to the other. His short stout body quickly darted out to meet the taller one face to face. He held his ears high and his stub of a tail. His short body was rather short, but toned and muscular. This little corgi mix had the ego of an warrior emperor. He bared his teeth to the other in hopes of intimidating him. His steely blue eyes fixated on the other's as Lt. Sage looked down upon Grunt.

Lt. Sage glared at the smaller dog. It bared it's teeth at him. To Sage this was a threat and he reacted by baring his deadly ivory fangs. He stood tall. " Maggot?" he snarled and clicked his fangs at him.
" My name is First Leutenant Sage. Don't forget it. " he snarled again. This was a wolf dog that wasn't to be messed with. He was a Leutenant, and he wasn't to be mistaken as any other. Sage's tail held high and his head low, preventing any attacks to the neck of this large wolf dog.

" Stand down Lieutenant! You may have power elsewhere but here you will do your Major RESPECT!"
Growled the smaller dog who was not fearful of the much larger canine. He had worked his way up in the army and was not bound to give in to a lower rank than he. He snapped at the muzzle of the other and took a step forward nipping at the others paws and turning to make sure his own back was covered for saftey. His goal was to drive this intruder out of his shelter.

Sage's auds pricked as this 'major' told him to step down. " Major what?!" he asked. He was already getting out of line, in his sled team and his former military standerds he was a high rank, but he knew that a major was only two ranks ahead of him. This dog must had been older than Sage, there was no way that a younger dog could make it to a major faster than Sage. Sage had gotten promoted every time he had a chance, it was the ONLY way for him to make his rank that fast.
As the smaller Major snapped at this one's feet, Sage moved his feet as fast as he could without moving from his spot. At one point he jumped in the air and swished to another spot, to the left of the major." A major huh?" he asked himself as he quickly got into the position of attention." I am sorry for my recklessness, Major. There is no excuses for what I did." he said to the major. It was only regulation that he did that, if that happened while they were in the feild, one of them would be shot, and in this case, that would be Sage, because of his recklessness.

Major Grunt soon grew impatient with the large one's actions. He had faught along side warcraft and militia of the humans and their weapons. He had lived through many scoutings and led the way of the platoon. By no means did he simply get promoted to Major, he scruffed his way up to the top.
As the larger and lesser command wolf mix lept to another spot, Grunt was quick to face him. His ears perked as this subordinate soon found his place. He quickly sat upon his haunches and sat straight to the other. "At ease, cadet" he replied in a less harsh manner than the previous words that had come from his mouth. He seemed to be skimming over every aspect of the other. "I'm glad you caught your mistake early. If this had been in any other situation you, or possibly both of us might have lost our lives because of a little scrimmage."
He then stood up and peered his head out of the small shack and sniffed the air for any other intruders. He soon came back inside and pulled the door shut by a small rusty nail that was hanging out from the bottom of the door. This would help insulate the small commune area that he and the Lt. shared.

The words hit his auds." At ease, cadet." the smaller Major had said to the Lieutenant. Sage went from a attention position to a at ease position, his rump fell to the ground and his head lowered abit. "Permission to speak freely, Major?" he asked and lifted his head slowly and his auds held back.
He watched as the small Major went outside and sniffed around and then he came back in and shut the door. " What is he doing?" the Lieutenant asked himself in his head. He focused his bright green optics on the small Major.

The smaller and more aged Major spoke to him withouth looking at him. He had his face turned to the door and somewhat squinting, as if to expect someone to appear from behind the door. "Permission Granted." He then sat diagonal from whence he came to appear infront of the larger dog.
He sat as straight and corrective as he was trained, his large ears swiveled forward as to hear the other better and to be more respectful. His full attention was now upon the much larger mix infront of him.

Sage relaxed abit, but stayed at the position of rest, as the Major granted permission to the Lieutenant." Sir, Major, May I ask your full name?" he asked as his auds swiveled like radars tracking a airplane or a sub. He looked straight into the Major's optics, just as he was taught. Being the dog of a Brigadier General was his avantage to most if his training. Both of his auds swiveled back to the front and stayed erect as he awaited the reply of his major.

The small corgi mix answered swiftly and with a sturdy pride that could be heard in his rough sounding voice." I am Major Grunt Abrahampsen of the New York Army, sir" Having said his name he glanced up at the other, taking in this other canine's training just by his responses. He was looking over his position, the level of attention that he was giving the smaller one and the tone in his voice. This he learned from his previous owner, his higher up use to do that to the new recuits. Grunt beleived in the same process, this way you could weed out the weaklings before training even ever started.
((OOC: ^^; im totally against war or anything military like XP but my dad was in the service as a truck driver >.>; does that count? lol))

[OOC:Guess so...*shruggs* I still give you credit, you still know your ranks pretty well.^.^. BTW sorry that it took me awhile to post, my sister is a jacktard and doesn't let me on sometimes. ] Sage listened to the corgi's name. " I am Major Grunt Abrahampsen of the New York Army, sir." the smaller Major told to the wolf-dog. Sage's auds pricked as he heard the name. Then he looked closer at the smaller one. His bright green optics widen as he remembered hearing something about Major Grunt." Major..G-Grunt... B-but you were presumed dead! You're not supposed to be alive!" he said to the Major, surprized that he was alive and well. He didn't look too bad, maybe abit dirty beacuse of the terra but nothing major. He shook his head and smile abit to the Major. " What are you doing in this dump? Why aren't you with the humans you worked with before?" he asked with his flip of his head. His head relaxed abit as he remembered to say something else." By the way, I am First Lieutenant Sage Laws, of the U.S. Air force." he said adding abit of pride as he pronouced his name to the Major.
