"A test?"
Haruko blinked at the sudden subject change. Perhaps the wolf was losing interest in the dead body. All the better. He decided to humor him for the sake of getting him out of the house. They were safer outside and away from this body. The black wolf-dog approached him with a half-hearted smile, trying to figure out exactly what he had on his mind.
"I can help... with scents. I'm not too strong... and my eyesight is horrible... but I must say that I'm quite skilled... in tracking."

“I wonder if you’d be able to find suspicious scents on the body, and follow them to wherever they lead.” it would have been much to say Dave liked the wolf-dog, but the honesty of him, mostly conserning his own senses, earned him some trust from Dave. “If you can track down whatever got in contact with the dead female...” Dave trailed off. It was kind of difficult to say, “--I could go on a hunt with you.”
It sounded ridiculous for Dave himself, but he suspected the Tharim would like the idea.
If Dave was right, and the man he saw was really the killer, that’d mean the Tharim would find his scent on the woman, and he’d follow it to the place behind the old shack, where he last saw him walk off toward the other end of the ‘clearing from graves’.
Dave turned his back to the Tharim, and walked to the wall, to take a closer look at the herbs, but than looked back again for a moment. “Watch what you tell others about your senses.” he said, “I’m friendly, but I’m sure there are some who’d be glad to use that knowlage against you.”

“Watch what you tell others about your senses.” he said, “I’m friendly, but I’m sure there are some who’d be glad to use that knowlage against you.”
"Oh," Haru said, blinking once. That thought had occurred to him before, but he'd since forgotten it. It would be best to remember it from now on. "Er, yessir."
With a bow, the black and red wolf stepped forward to observe the body. Getting over the death-smell, he circled the woman, sniffing here and there to get a better idea of what the exact scents were. He could make out the distinct scent of a male- the only one to be there when she died. He was mature, but his with his lack of knowledge for human ages left him guessing how old he was. Either way, he had his scent.
The wolf-dog lifted his head and looked toward the door, where the scent lead. He lowered his head and jumped over the body. Keeping his head to the floor, he picked up on the smell of the male's shoes- the strongest scent. With a swish of his tail, he headed out the door and followed the scent as it went out behind the shack. From there, it went to the other end of the graveyard.
"This way!" Haru called.

Just as Dave suspected. The Tharim, as if following a script, after sniffing around the body walked to the door and trough that right to the back of the shack. Dave followed him closely, waiting which way would he turn. To non of Dave’s surprise, Tharim walked on toward the back fence of the yard, where he stopped and told Dave to follow.
Tharim was standing by something that once must had been a gate. Now there was no gate left, only two stone pillars, which although small for humans, they seemed rater manacing for Dave. From then on a seemingly ancient road led into the fog covered darkness of the graveyard.
“Well,” started Dave, “--we’ll have to leave the cemetary soon anyway, if we want to eat something decent. We might as well follow this road out.” Dave didn’t look at the Tharim, just walked trough the gateway. “If you want to come, hurry! Because I’m not slowing down for you now.”
Hopefully the road leads out of the graveyard. he thought, while walking.

It was only a small yard, left behind ages ago. Nobody lived in it, nobody changed it. Dust geathered in it, as the number of the graves around it started to grow.
Once it was only the residence of the local grave digger, and it’s family, but that was many years ago. Three generations grew up in the house, until the last grave digger’s son decided to move to the town and get a job there, not following the tradition of his family. In time the grave digger and his wife got old and died. After them noone inhabited the old house. The years passed and people started to fear the house in the middle of the cemetary. Kids were trying to proove each other their courage by coming here and animals found shelter for some nights.
It was silence.
Many decades later a young woman found it and decided to make it her home. Her name was Saggita. She lived by geathering herbs and making medicine and drinks, that she could sell to the nearby town’s people. The people of Hallow village used to believe in natural healing, so she had no problem with living. She created the medicine and “potions” the towns people needed, and in terurn they gave her what she asked for. For another few decades there was no problem. But her end of days came however, when she got murdered by one of her best customer, in her own house.
The house was silent again.
Of course there was a reason for the house’s position. Right behind the house, there was a gate breaking the line of the fence. Trought the gate the wind blew on a cobble stone road, that led though part of the Manor Cemetary. Leading right to the entrence of the Krypt of an ancient family, that were probably relatives of those resided in the manor itself. Each and every member of the family was taken here after they ended their life, to rest in their family crypt. But the line of the family ended, and there was noone left to visit the dead. And after the death of the grave digger, there was noone to take care of the krypt either.
Now the place was dark and dirty. The door of the krypt was broken in and the walls crumbled. Nature claimed back what was her’s. Plants grew all over the place, leaving it barely any resamblance of a family krypt.
It was dark now. The fog that covered the cemetary that day had started to clear away. The full moon was shining over the place allowing a much better view than the fog did. The wind blew gently bringing the smell of food out of the inside of the ruined krypt. If someone had a keen enough nose they could feel it. Beside the Krypt, the road led on further, going sraight out of the cemetary grounds, ending in the road that lead either to the manor, or Hallow Village.
[Sorry Howl. It got lenghty again]

Haru kept his nose to the ground and followed after Almerun. Now the the fog had cleared and the night had taken over, the wolf-dog was able to see perfectly. He would have had no trouble keeping up with the wolf except for one slight problem- the old wound on his chest was acting up. Attempting to ignore it, Haruko ran on, keeping close to the wolf. The scent didn't faultier much, but he began to pick up the smell of food.
His stomach growling, the black and red canine pulled forward until he was neck and neck with the other. He refused to pull ahead, however, preferring not to upset him. He still didn't know how this one would act and now was not the time to get into a fight. Besides, he still didn't know the object of this little game.

As following the road, Dave kept looking around for some way out of the graveyard. He was indeed somewhat interested in the case of the old human’s death, but he didn’t want to get into a fight for something that he didn’t really care that much for. He slowly noticed that Tharim kept slowing down and catching up with him. Dave didn’t understand why he did it, but he thought he must have had his reasons for it. However he kept watching him, just to be careful.
After some time, as the fog cleared out, Dave recognized the shape of a small, ruined building not far infront of them. The road seemed to lead straight towards it. And as approaching Dave managed to recognize the stracture. The moon was shining upon an ancient, broken Krypt, and in fact it was at the end of the road.
Oh the luck I always have. he thought sarcastically.
Now Dave picked up the scent of something much more interesting.
“Food.” he said out loud. His eyes brightened up, but only until he recognized the source of the scent. It was coming from the krypt.

“Food.” he said out loud.
Haru looked up at the wolf with a questioning look. Yes, the smell of food had been in the air for a while. Hadn't he recognised it? Perhaps he was just now realizing how hungry he was. The black wolfdog didn't blame him. His own stomach was growling.
"I hope I smell sushi..." he said brightly. It was only then that he realized where the scent was coming from.

Dave kept staring at the entrance of the krypt, probably trying to convince himself it isn’t what it seems to be, but he couldn’t find any proof to that. This was yet another thing he didn’t understand about humans; why did they find it so amusing to geather their dead one’s bodies into one place, just so then they can worry about what will become of them? While thinking about that, he slowly walked a bit closer and observed the building from a smaller distance. Than he walked up to the broken door, stuck his head in on one of the bigger cracks of the door, and listened.
There was no sound and no smell of human. Or actually there probably was, but the fact he couldn’t smell it, told him, there were no humans around recently. But he did smell something else from inside; the scent of meat.
“Come on Tharim!” he turned to the wolf-dog, “Help me move this door, if you’re as hungry as I am!”
(I wonder if there's any other wolf/dog resided in there. ...hm)

The black and red wolfdog stood at the entrance of the crypt, staring at it. All his life, he had been taught to avoid places like these. His master had once chased him away from such a structure. Since then he had always been curious, but wary of these human domains. He eyed it worriedly until Almerun's voice pulled him back into the present.
Haru crept in beside the wolf at his order and proceeded to attempt to lift the door free. He disregarded his instinct to run away in favor of finding out what lay inside the tomb. Besides, he was quite hungry and the prospect of food drove him on. Perhaps after his hunger was quenched, he would be able to investigate the crypt more thoroughly.

As the heavy door slowly got moved out of the way, Dave finally had a sight into the crypt. The pale light of the moon shone onto a stair way down into the tomb itself. Barely anything was visible for Dave, but one thing was clear as moonlight. The smell of food. Without a word Dave walked into the darkness, and followed the stairs into the earth.
What he was able to recognize of the tomb’s inside, told him it was very old. Even in human count. The tomb was obviously unvisited for a long time, by people. Unless... he thought he caught the smell of another. He stopped and looked around sniffing the air. Nothing now, but a moment ago he could have sworn he smelled another canine.
The chamber he felt the scent in was probably a bit of distance away from the stairs. But in the darkness he couldn’t tell. He took another few steps forward, but then he saw a light ahead. First he thought he just imagined it in the dark, but it didn’t dissappear. Dave turned in the direction of the pale, white light, but then he stopped.
He focused on the tomb so much he didn’t even checked yet if the Tharim was with him.
(I was wondering if anyone could join the rp. 'Cause I think it needs another character, ...even if only temporarily [in the tomb])

Haruko moved to follow Almerun as he entered the tomb. He was, however, distracted by the numerous coffins that lined the walls. Strange as it seemed, he had always been interested in the way humans buried their dead, even if the place seemed foreboding. The way his master used to keep him away from grave yards only made him more curious about what was there to be discovered.
One coffin in particular made him do a double take. It was open. The nails on the sides of it were bent and skewed as they had been with the motion of the lifting. Giving it a questioning look, as if bidding it to explain why it was unlike the others, nailed shut and placed squarely on it's rack, Haru moved toward it, abandoning Almerun in his search of food.
His stomach lurched a little when he peered inside the box and saw the remains of a corpse. It was all bone by now. Being careful of the nails, he nosed the lid up and out of the way. An echo sounded as the wood hit the wall. He cringed at the noise, but now he had an idea of how big the crypt was.
What he found on the underside of the lid made him gasp in horror. There were scratch marks and dry blood at the upper section of it. He put his paws on the ledge where the coffin sat and inspected the finger tips of the skeleton. The bone, even as old as the corpse was, was obviously worn down.
"ALMERUN!!"
In a panic, Haruko retreated from the corpse and raced after the wolf. The horror of what he had seen made him sick. He wanted to vomit, but he was too scared to.
"Almerun!" she shouted again when he caught sight of the white and black male, "They burry the LIVING!!"
{{I don't mind if someone wanders in. ^^ }}

For the last words of Tharim, Dave’s lips curled and the eyebrow like markings above his eyes ran up his forehead, giving him a startled-grossed out expression, as he jerked his head toward the wolfdog.
“They do what to the what?!” he questioned him outraged, not believing his ears. Dave heard a lot of things about the sacramental ways human beings burried each other, but he never would have even thought about it that they could burry someone alive. First, for a moment he couldn’t believe it, but then he got reminded of the shot wolves and the dead woman, and realized, they were capable of anything. He turned back and ran up to Tharim. He wanted to find out as much as possible.
“Did you find someone? Did you find a living?” Dave asked, “Speak up!”

“Did you find someone? Did you find a living?” Almerun asked, “Speak up!”
Haru skidded to a stop in front of the larger wolf and panted, trying to calm himself down. It wasn't helping. His adrenaline kept his heart pumping madly. He looked up at him with fear-gripped eyes. There was no explanation for what he saw. He was starting to believe that being with humans was not such a good thing.
"They... I found... It's..." His lips didn't seem to want to form sentences. He was completely horrified by the evidence the coffin gave. A skeleton was not enough to frighten him, but this was sick.
"There's a coffin... with scratches... inside. Bloody fingertips... Just- come on!"
Abandoning the fight for words, he decided to show the wolf what he had found. He turned and bolted back toward the thing that had scared him so much. Once there, he could barely bring himself to look in the box.
"Just look," he said, disgusted.

The wolf followed Tharim as he lead him trough the impenetrable darkness, straight to the corner where an upened coffin lay. Dave slowly approached the wooden sacramental box of humans, and looked into it. His eyes had to get used to the dark before he could tell what he saw. But then,
“Ah.” said Dave dissapointed, as he recognized the skeleton laying in the coffin. It was really a skeleton, only a collection of human bones. “This is it?” he asked Tharim, “I understand your surprise, but this must be here for decades now, if not more. We must focus on the present now. First of all, we have to find the food, that led us here, than we can care about this.”
With these words, Dave turned and walked away from the coffin, back the way he came from. Although he still said a few words to the Tharim.
“You see kid, it’s a great thing if you catch details like that, and we'll get back to it in time, but you have to learn how not to loose tracking what you’re after.”
