Orin smiled at Akree. Her whole demeanor had changed. "Alright then," he called starting off at a steady pace, " " It's not too far." Keeping a steady but brisk stride Orin followed his memory to a small clearing, checking back every so often checking to see if Akree was still behind him. Finally he arrived to the clearing surrounded by bushes with a small pool of water off to the right. Already, he could smell some fresh animal scents as this was a common spot for animals to pass by.
Orin lift his tail slightly as he singled out a scent on the breeze. He finally caught a whiff of deer not far off. Probably a young one, he judged with another sniff. Grinning inwardly he said to Akree, "You smell that? It smells like lunch." Without another word he padded toward the faint scent flicking his tail as a sign for Akree to keep following.

Akree followed Orin silently to the clearing. She twitched her ears as Orin said lunch, she began to search for the scent Orin had caught you mean a deer" she said while keeping her eyes closed. Her tail flicked and when she opened her eyes Orin was already a few paces ahead. She sprinted behind him, keeping behind the smaller, but older wolf. A few birds chirped in alarm and took flight as the two wolf's walked toward the faint scent of a deer.

After a few minutes he finally spotted the deer grazing alone in a clearing. He thought it strange that a doe would have strayed so far from the herd since he did not smell any others nearby. Still, food was food, and nothing would convince him otherwise. Lifting his snout once again into the air he scented the deer taking in its scent. It didn't smell of disease so it should have been good to eat.
Crouching low he crept along the border of trees around the clearing. His brown fur blended in with the dirt below his paws and he grinned. This was his favorite thing in the world to do. Finally finding a position he liked, Orin turned to face Akree.
"Ready?" he whispered so as not to catch the deer's attention.

Akree followed Orin as silently as she could, keeping a watchful eye for that deer. After a few minutes she could see the deer, a doe. The doe was alone in the clearing grazing, munching the grass. Strangely Akree couldn't smell any others nearby, she began to feel hungry already. Being careful to where she thread she positioned herself next to Orin to get a better view of the lone doe. She kept her hearing as sharp as ever for any possible sound.
Orin crouched and walked silently a little farther ahead of her. Akree smiled as she saw the wolf grin, more to himself than anyone in particular. She crouched down as well and walked silently, but swiftly toward the front of the deer, keeping herself hidden by the bushes and trees in the border of the clearing. She began to feel the thrill of the hunt, she already could taste the doe.
"Ready?" she heard Orin whisper, she only smiled in response.

Orin nodded quickly and signaled for Akree to follow him with a flick of his tail as he leaped out toward the deer making a sharp turn to face it head on. The hunt was truly on. His heart was drumming in his ears Orin snapped at the doe's legs trying to make it falter as it turned away from him. A hoof almost hit him in the head as the deer leaped just out of reach. Luckily Orin had ducked just low enough to not get a face full of deer foot.
Carefully Orin trailed a few paw steps behind the deer still trying to trip it up. If his strategy was working out the deer should have been being herded toward Akree. Looking away from the deer for a brief moment Orin checked to see if the darker female had followed him out.

As Orin flicked his tail, she readied herself to jump at the deer. As Orin leapt out of hiding the deer hurried her way, she chuckled and jumped out of hiding facing the doe. It was to busy with Orin to have noticed her. In moments the deer was in front of her, she jumped at its legs and as quickly as she possibly could she snapped at the deer's heals and quickly found her mark as the deer flipped over and kicked her hard on her chest, she growled and did her best not to let go. The panicked doe began to kick Orin as well and with another of its kicks, acomplished its objective and Akree let go, drawing back from the doe. She looked around for Orin.

Orin was just behind the deer preparing to pounce on the creature. Getting to the right angle he jumped digging his claws into the doe's back and biting at the back of it's neck just enough to draw a little blood.Shifting his weight Orin let go of the deer causing it to lose balance and fall over. Seizing the oppurtunity he once again jumped on the deer doing his best to keep it down for it was thrashed about as hard as it could to release itself froom his grip. Orin flattened his ears as a well aimed kick hit him in the side, but he still did not release the deer.
"Finish it off, Akree," he said as he kept the doe pinned.

Akree had already striked for the deer before Orin could speak. She bit its throat, digging her fangs to its flesh, blood seeping from the wound. The doe trashed around for a while, but it began to to surrender to the pain and stopped trashing about, staying very still. When she was sure it was dead she retreated her fangs and looked at Orin, searching if he was hurt. Remembering the kick she had received she searched for a wound and was relieved to find none, it only hurt a little. She sat down and steadied her breath.
"Are you all right, Orin?"
She asked remembering the numerous kicks the older wolf had received. She flicked her tail feeling hungry and sighted.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Orin mumbled stretching his muscles to double check. A few places were a bit sore, but it didn't feel like anything serious. "I'm gonna bruise a bit but that's all." He smelled the fresh kill and his stomach growled slightly. Orin was very tempted just then to dive right into the deer. "C'mon lets eat. I'm starved," he smirked taking a step closer to the meal. His tail wagged slightly as he imagined the still warm deer flesh. The thought alone would drive any hungry wolf insane. Luckily he was used to being a little on the hungry side. It wasn't easy to catch a good meal as a lone wolf, and Orin knew in the back of his mind that his new company would be quite beneficial.

The timber wolf nodded, relieved to hear Orin say he was fine. She smiled, she felt hungry, eating now sounded great for the time. She flicked her tail as her stomach gave a large groan, complaining to be fed. She chuckled nervously and waited for the older wolf to take the first bite. Orin began to eat like there was no tomorrow and she did to gorging the meat.
"Umm, Orin?-" she got cut of by herself unsure of what she was going to say in the first place, she shook her head "Never mind"
She ripped the deer's meat in content, already feeling much better, as a lone wolf she never got to hunt large prey, hares, birds and rodents was the best she could get on her own. She smiled at herself, maybe that's why she never got a big appetite, she was used to eating very little.

Orin's ears pricked forward as he heard Akree used his name. She started to ask something, but she didn't finish. Orin removed his muzzle from the deer looking slightly confused. What could she have wanted? Swallowing the bit of meat he had just ripped from the deer he turned his head to look at the she wolf. She looked quite content eating the fresh kill, but Orin's curiosity was at the moment outweighing his hunger. That was something that rarely happened.
"What did you want to ask me, Akree?" he quetioned as he licked some of the blood around his maw. Surely it had to have been something if she had stalled from eating to ask it. Didn't it?

Akree didn't notice the wolf stop eating until she heard him speak.
"What did you want to ask me, Akree?"
She raised her head and licked the blood of her chin. She smiled and said:
"It's nothing" she said not wanting to disturb the wolf's dinner.
She turned to look at her paws, deep in thought. Orin had been a great company for the time, she stared at her nose as a fly dove for it and she shook her head, growling at the stupid fly. She took another bite of the deer, this taste good, she smiled to herself.

Orin was still quite confused at Akree's reaction. He tilted his head to the side slightly as he thought. Females, he thought shrugging it off. "Whatever you say Akree," Orin said simply and resumed eating the deer. Even as he ate the deer though he couldn't help but watch Akree. Something was on her mind, but he wasn't quite sure what.

The fly dove for her nose again, okay this fly was just plain annoying, she growled at snapped her fangs at the fly, stupid fly, she thought as it flew away. She nodded to herself as it flew away and turned her muzzle to the deer again, she opened her mouth to take another bite.
"Whatever you say Akree" Orin said a hint of annoyance in his voice.
She turned to look at Orin and flicked her tail. Was there something wrong? She lifted her head and looked at Orin carefully.
"Is there something wrong?" she said a little worried.
The fly flew slowly toward Orin and she tilted her head to the side as the fly dove for Orin's nose, this fly had something for wolf's noses, she thought, how strange.

Orin paused again, "No, I'm just curious that's all." He honestly hadn't meant to sound so peeved and felt a bit embarassed at how intrusive he was being. Narmally he wouldn't have minded at all, but Akree seemed nice enough. "It's just my nature," he added with a bit more cheer. Orin was feeling much better now that he had something in his stomach.
