Running. That's what Troubadour had been doing for the past few hours, and now he was tired to no end. He had slowed to a jog then a quick walk, and finally ambling along, panting heavily. Then, when he got his breath back, he began running again. Troubadour had something important on his mind, and he had to get across Dante's Pass with all haste. For the inquisitive wolfdog had found out something that he was bursting to say. But of course, this being such a lonely road, there was nobody to say it to. All the better for Troubadour, for what was on his mind was a secret, which he should only tell one other person. Which brings us back to why he was running. He ddin't want to meet someone and accidentally tell them.
Rounding the corner, Troubadour spotted a black wolf sitting on the road. Don't say anything, don't say anything, don't even open your muzzle, Troubadour kept telling himself. He tried to run past, but tripped, and fell, landing with a splash into a large puddle. The brown water shot out of the puddle, and showered down on the black wolf. Troubadour himself was soaked from his chest down to his paws. It was cold. Yelping in surprise, he scrambled out of the puddle. "Oh, oh I'm sorry!" He said to the wolf. He backed off a bit and tried to look a bit more submissive, just in case she was going to be angry. In his mind, he kept saying it; Don't tell the secret, don't tell the secret. Troubadour tried to introduce himself, and accidentally said it out loud instead; "Don't tell the secret". Troubadour's eyes flew open, and he stammered nervously, trying to cover up what he just said. "I-I'm Troubadour. What's your secr- NAME? Your name?" Shut up about the secret, Troub. he thought to himself.

Blue shook off the dirt on her coat. "Be careful." She looked at Troubadour. "My name is blue." She stood up she was quiet tall for a wolf. She growled as she stood. She was kind of mad at this wolf.

A loud rusteling came from the dying forest. NightBlood was in no way trying to be quiet. Instead, she was giving away her position so that others could notice she was there and begin to run away. They always did. No one hardly ever cared to try to get to know her. Not that she was complaining about it. To the contrary, she enjoyed the quiet. However, she did not wish to be judged strictly on her size and appearance. True, she did look forboding, but she was usually not vicious upon first meeting unless she was annoyed.
Reguardless of those facts, she remained unbothered with any comments or hails from others, and she was perfectly fine with that. On this relatively wet day, she decided that walking along the road would allow her a quiet walk to wherever she was going and, truth be told, wherever she was going, she wasn't getting there fast. NightBlood was not the quickest of wolves and actually lumbered as if she was a great bear. She had no real goal either. She'd just walk until she was hungry or tired and either hunt or sleep when she needed to.
Now as she came down onto the road, NightBlood spotted a pair of canines.
<Great. I come onto the road for so peace and what do I get? Two wet dogs.>
They seemed pritty roudy by her standards. Both were covered in mud and chatting amungst themselves. Whatever had happened, it had happened fast, for one of the wolfdogs seemed to be studdering a bit.
Although it was habit for her to avoid communication unless absolutly nessesary, the pair were in NightBlood's way, and she did not divert from her path for much more than a natural disaster. She continued walking toward them in hopes of being completly ignored like she had been so many times before.

Troubadour turned as well, and jumped back in fright. He thankfully missed the puddle, and landed on his tail as he hit the muddy ground. "Oww!" he cried, and got up again. shaking himself off. He took another look at NightBlood, and realised this person was not, in fact, a bear, as he had mistaken her for due to her movement and colour. Come on, don't get nervous. Now's not the time. Troubadour froze. The secret. He had nearly forgotten it, and he sat down, making sure he remembered all the details. Troubadour looked back at NightBlood. To put it simply, she looked like she would murder him if he so much as looked twice at her, so Troubadour tried to appear as small as possible, and slowly backed up away from the two bigger wolves. He wanted to run on, but his curiosity got the better of him, and he wanted to hear a response to Blue's question. Troubadour wanted to know who NightBlood was as well.

NightBlood stopped and took a quick step back to steady herself when she was addressed by the black wolf. She had half a mind to continue walking as her blood red eyes landed landed on the female's face, but the other half overpowered the thought. She chose to confront her. Neading the grownd with her claws as she tried to keep herself under control, she adressed the rude female.
"It is curtious for one to share their name before asking for the names of others," she said a bit less kindly than others would have.
Night held her head high, attempting to disperse any thought of attack. Her size should be enough to show that she wasn't to be tested. The male showed evidence of this through his jumpy movements. However, she was not without flaw. The blindness of her left eye and the limp in her back leg were not only signs of experience in fighting, but also signs of potential weakness. She quickly scratched off the male as a threat. He was built for running, not fighting. However, the female could prove more of a problem. She already looked a little ticked off.

Troubadour kept moving slowly back from Blue, and to the side. He wanted a clear view of what was going on. If these two were pack wolves, it might make his evening report on a pack conflict. Troubadour didn't care for combat at all, but was willing to tell of it, which meant that any dispute between packs became common knowledge in a matter of days if Troubadour saw it. He kept out of the conversation for now, but he had his own queries to make, and was bursting to ask a lot. That was his nature. Sometimes, wolves would view him as a threat. A secret couldn't be kept secret if Troubadour knew of it, and the fact he was keeping a secret now was definitely a first. If these canines didn't belong to a pack though, Troubadour would have nothing to tell. Secretly, Troubadour hoped they were both from a pack, and both about to fight. Everyone always took an interest when he announced tensions like that, and that was his motivation.

It was Night's nature to take just about every growl as a challenge, but it was not the case here. It probably was, but she saw no sence in abliging to it. What was this kid's problem anyway? NightBlood had come to no pack border, so she wasn't on anyone's land, and she hadn't offended Blue before she had first addressed her. Apparently this was a very testy animal.
Not that she was scared, but NightBlood thought it best not to envoke rage here. However, it would not do well to reveal one's true name during these troubled times. No, she would find a substitute for her true name. These wolfdogs did not diserve her real name. But what should she give them?
"You may call me Rogue, for now,"
She had given her uncle's nickname as her own and hid her southern accent.
"And what of you, Jumper? What do they call you?"
She had said this to the male, as she had seen him backing away. Truth be told, he was more interesting than the female. She new Blue's type: Always looking for fights, but never actually being able to back up their taunts. NightBlood had always shunned the more silent and shy type, but perhaps, if given the chance, they would have something good to say.

Troubadour's face lit up at the opportunity to introduce himself. He didn't mind using his own name. "My name's Troubadour, miss." he said. "I've not heard your name before though, and I've heard a lot. I'll be sure to remember it." He wanted to ask some questions of his own, but at the same time, making friends was something he did quite often, and he hoped to be friends, or at least friendly with these two. He sat down, and had a feeling that he wouldn't be in much danger from these two. After all, they were speaking to him quite conversationally. "I'm sort of a... announcer of sorts. I specialize in the telling of current events. You know, always something interesting happening in these parts, and If I see it, it's the talk of the town the next day. And what about yourself?" he asked politely.

NightBlood smiled at his long-winded introduction. Troubadour, was it? Unusual name... but that didn't matter. What did matter was that he was, as he said, an announcer. He could tell her of the latest news. Perhaps this one could be of some use to her.
"Just a wanderer, boy."
A voice made her snap to attention. She had almost forgotten about Blue. Apparently she couldn't wait to hear her own voice. No matter. NightBlood followed Troubadour's action and sat down. She wasn't finnished speaking with the male, but waited her turn all the same.
