Alpha Rank[/u]

The highest and ruling rank system in Arnlan, these ranks is allowed to do, virtually, whatever they please. They have no set limits or privileges.

Alpha

They run the pack, making the big decisions. They’re responsible for the well-being of every wolf in the pack, from themselves all the way down to the lowest subordinate, and despite their rank they put the pack as a whole before themselves. The make the ultimate decision in pack affairs, award rank titles and decide on suitable punishment for offenders.

The Trusted[/u]

The wolves in this rank are the most trusted of the pack and usually the strongest, male or female, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. They are allowed to mate and breed (meaning, have pups) and they are allowed to leave the packlands with strict and proper reason. They cannot stay away from the packlands for two long however. They can demote and promote other pack members into the Respected Rank and can suggest higher promotions into other Ranks by holding council with the Alphas. During big pack meetings they are expected to be there, no excuses, and during meetings to discuss important pack ideals they are expected to be there, no excuses. They can and will punish wolves that destroy and disrespect the ideals of Arnlan.

Beta

The betas assist the alphas in the running of the pack. They can give instructions to the wolves of the pack, and punish anyone who rightly deserves to be. They may also accept new members if they come across any on the border. Also, they must frequently check up with the ranked wolves to enforce the no slacking rule. If the alphas are unable to run the pack the beta will assume the position until the alphas return, or if the alphas cannot, will assume the positions officially until the alpha’s pups are ready to take over the packland officially. They do not have to be a mated pair and are the second strongest wolves in Arnlan. There is usually one female and one male.

Advisor

As the title implies, the wolf ranked such is seen to be one of the wisest wolves of the pack. Offering advice to the Alphas is a highly demanding job as it also requires said wolf to be ontop of everything going on within the pack. Their words are taken into huge consideration and can play a huge role in the outcome of any decision to be made by the alphas. This wolf is also an information station and takes on a certain teacher type role for pups or members seeking particular information. Members are allowed to ask the advisor for advise, because, that is definitely what this wolf is there for.

Gamma

The gamma is one rank below the beta, and assists in checking on the lower wolves of the pack. They enforce rules, make sure that the newly accepted have settled and may also grant acceptance for anyone seeking it if they find them fit to join. They may carry out punishment only if they have considered a second opinion either from the beta or the alpha. Only if both the beta and the alphas are out of commission will they step up. If only the alphas are unable to rule, the gammas will stay in their ranking and the newly made alphas will pick the new beta. This is can be a mated pair and these wolves are the third strongest of the pack. There is usually a female and a male.

Council of Arms[/u]

The wolves in this rank system are some of the most trusted of the pack, they are the heads of their own particular ranking section and most help care of those ranking sections. They cannot breed without permission from the alphas or betas and they cannot leave the packlands without permission either. They can promote but cannot demote people into the particular ranking they watch over and they can assign Master and Lord grades.


Healer

While this is not the strongest rank and certainly not the highest up in the Arms ranks the wolf in this ranking is definitely by far perhaps, while not outwardly, the most important. Arnlan is not a land immune to sickness or injury and so the Doctor is there to make sure all the little wolves are healthy and in tip top shape. This wolf’s main priority is to watch over his or her group of Nurses and train them in the art of herb gathering and other such means to keep everyone safe. This wolf is also present when pups are born to any of the members. This wolf is responsible for promoting wolves into the nurse ranking and can also demote wolves from that ranking if they prove to be worthless. This wolf’s second responsibility is also like an acting secretary to the other higher ranking wolves in the Arms Rank. Thus, this wolf must be very intelligent and able to calm other wolves down when they panic from injury. For anyone going into this rank, brute strength is not a requirement nor wanted.

The Respected[/u]

This is basically the heart of Arnlan. These rankings are what make up the pack, keep it running, and help give Arnlan that smooth flawless look. Every wolf who makes it to these rankings is a respected individual who has breeding rights when the season comes with permission. They, however, cannot leave the lands without strict permission nor promote or demote wolves into their section. Each ranking is controlled by a higher rank.

Scouts

These are the basic guardians of Arnlan, they are the strong, powerful, and regarded sentries. Officers patrol and guard the borders, making sure that any wolf without the intention of joining the pack does not enter. If they come across such characters, officers have the authority to turn them away, by force if necessary. They must be fast, and able to fight if required. They also may accept wolves that wish to join, permitted only if they prove themselves of any worth. Officers are to reject any wolf whom they see unfit, and any who disrespect them in any way. Officers must report to the Sheriff or alpha any new wolf they have accepted and are even responsible for the well being of that wolf until a one week period in which the wolf has made sure to accustom him or herself to the land.

Middle Class Caste[/u]

This is the middle class, a caste with basic rights such as the right to breathe and…well, it’s usually where you first start out when you enter the pack. This isn’t a bad thing, however, you have no breeding rights in season or not and you cannot leave the packlands. This doesn’t make you not important however, you just have yet to find your proper place in the pack.

The Mother/Father

Out of all the other rankings in this Caste this being is the only one allowed to take breeding rights. This is the Nanny of the Pup rankings, basically. They watch after the pups and make sure they don’t get into any trouble, plain and simple.


Subordinate

A wolf without a job, basically. This is a normal citizen of Arnlan.

High Pups

These are alpha, beta, gamma, and high ranking caste pups.

Regular puppiez.

Local Residents

Anything living on Arnlan that is NOT apart of the pack, such as animals that aren’t wolves basically. These beings don’t necessarily belong to the pack and so they really don’t have to follow the rules. However, because Arnlan is tolerating them, they do have to respect all other members of Arnlan and so they come last before the rest of the pack.

LowerClass Caste[/u]

These wolves have no rights, period.

Omega

A wolf that has either screwed up really bad or displeased the alphas very much. This wolf is often regarded as useless or treated like dirt, which is what they deserve.

Trespasser

A wolf who has wandered onto Arnlan territory with ill intent is taken as prisoner and kept guarded. When proven guilty of their crimes they then become a prisoner of Arnlan

Prisoner

A wolf who had wished to cause harm to Arnlan or its alphas, packmate or not.
