The Ways of Arnlan
Arnlan is a pack run under the strict leadership of the twins Karolek and Sofika. Everyone is expected to work for their place in the pack. Rank titles are only obtained by those who are seen fit and capable of particular place in the ranks. Slacking is not tolerated and normally will result in punishment and demotion. Ultimately, decisions are made by the alphas, and they're word is always final. No one has been known to question their authority.
Land Descriptions
All wolves of Arnlan do not mind the harsh living conditions and if they do mind then they are unfit to serve under the alphas. One must be strong and be able to cope with the cold temperatures, the bogged land and the veil of shadows that shrouds the majority of the territory.
To the South of Arnlan lies Sallin. This area of the border is to be guarded well to prevent the wolves of that pack intruding upon the lands. To the East lies Hallow Village. All borders are well protected, however this area is not as heavily guarded as the line with Sallin. North East is Scatterstone Beach, this border should be watched carefully for any stray beasts attempting to intrude.
The borders are secure, lined with trees the shade of black. The whole border is on a steep slope. This benefits the sentries well, as they have a clear look out of the lands, making the area easy to defend. Inside there is a variety of trees, however they too, are dark in colour. During the year, the land is covered in thick snow, which does not melt until the summer months when the area is wet with persistent downfalls of rain.
The ground in the pack lands is marshy, and puddles of water form in the summer months. When the snow melts, the land is extremely bogged, especially with the rain that falls during the summer month. However the wolves here have adapted to such conditions and live comfortably in their land.
With the Baltic Sea close by, the temperatures are very mild, and so for this reason, the snow does not melt during the most of the year. The rainfall is not heavy in the summer months, however there are many light showers that last several days on end. Patches of snow may still remain scattered mainly around the North of Arnlan, close to the sea.
Current Season : Summer
Spring:
During springtime, the land is covered in snow. This melts gradually due to increases in temperatures. However areas near the north are the slowest to melt. There would not be much rainfall at this time, but showers are possible. The land is pretty much bogged in this season due to the amount of melted snow along with the occasional shower.
Summer:
Summer is the time of year when the snow melts and there are many showers of rain. The temperatures are fairly warm. Again, near the south of the pack lands the climate is warmer than that to the North. In Arnlan, the land is critically bogged, and moving around is difficult. However the members should have eadapdt to these conditions. If they couldn't, then they are as good as dead.
Autumn:
At the beginning of Autumn, there is a mixture of snow and rain fall. Depending on the temperatures, the colder days will have snow, whereas the slightly warmer ones will have rainfall. Snow becomes regular leading up to the months of winter and it does not melt due to cooling temperatures. The land is slightly more solid around this time of the year.
Winter :
Snow is heavy and the land inside the border are covered in thick snow. Due to cold temperatures, the snow does not melt, and pools of ice an be seen around the land. This is a result in the rainfall through the summer months that create puddles of water that then freeze and become small ponds. The low temperatues solidify the land, and it is not as bogged as the earlier seasons.
Please Note
Due to the frequent showers, and the low temperatures, the wolves of Arnlan have adapted to these conditions. They do not mind the rain nor this cold. Also, all wolves do not mind the rain and they do have fur to protect themselves from the cold, despite how bitter, it may be.
Prey Descriptions
Moose/ Elk :
The moose( elk ) are very uncommon in the territory, however, there can be the occasional wandering around. Normally there is one or two families residing in the lands, and are to be killed/ attacked only with permission from the Alphas. They can only be killed in pack hunts. The moose can feed up the whole pack for at the least a week before the meat starts to become inedible and rot.
Deer :
The Roe deer is common in the territory, and can be killed by two wolves at the minimum. Experienced hunters may be able to take the prey down on their own but less experiences ones would require the assistance of another. Can feed two wolves at a time.
Rabbits :
Rabbits are the most common of all the prey in Arnlan. However, there are two types found in the territory. There is a normal rabbit, who cannot move well around the mucky, bogged areas of the terrain and are easily caught. A lot of these animals are killed because their dens are flooded due to the high levels of water. The other type are those adapted to the conditions of the land and can move with ease over the slipperiest of ground. Their dens are found normally in small crevices in rocks, where they are less likely to flood.
Hares, fox and owls can also be caught and used as food. However rabbits are the most commonly used.
Wasting Food
The Alphas will not tolerate food being wasted within the pack. If a member kills an animal but does not eat it and abandons the corpse, then they are putting themselves in a punishable position. At one point or another, food may be scarce.
