I guess this goes here then! I have been working on this fiction well.. I don't know actually.. It's slightly based off of Spyro, but there are no OC's of Spyro in here so I'll claim it as a fanfic C: Please don't mind my grammar D: I know it aint much good, but I can't help it as much</3 It had been over two hundred years since the defeat of Malefor, the one who had seemed invincible had fallen, but it wasn't over, no, even through the brightest rays of light, the darkness found a way to come through, and when the world was in peril, just when everyone needed the heroes most, they perished. Now, after the hope was gone, dragons still formed alliances, forming great clans to stand up against the forces of darkness, and even through the rare, purple dragon was gone, they still struggled for survival. Part one: The lone mother and child Large paws stroked the earth as a blue dragoness walked over the lands, blackened like charcoal. The sky was full of dark clouds, blocking the light that the sun offered, not even allowing the smallest glimpse to come through. You should think that even in the darkness it wouldn't be a problem for a dragoness to walk or fly, but it was different for this dragoness. Wounds could be seen around her whole body as she kept going forwards, not looking back, or stopping for a moment, no, she knew she had to keep going or else she wouldn't live anymore, neither would she, or her child. Yes, this wounded dragoness was carrying a black with red spots and wings child with her, the small thing laying on her back. This other dragoness probably still was young and unaware of everything that was going on around them, but yet, it could probably play, at least, If she could find someone to play with that was. Now you probably are wondering why these two were out there alone, and of course, why the blue dragoness was hurt. Truth was, her other alliance was destroyed, and she and her child were the only ones left alive. Now she was searching for another place to life, searching for another alliance to take them in before they got killed by the monsters roaming the dying earth. Wherever you looked there was no green, and no matter which way you pointed your head to, you couldn't see one living thing, just darkness and death tree's beneath the dark clouds, making the earth beneath slightly red. The sun had to be there somewhere, being pressed away by the large, massive clouds which didn't allow any light to come through. How long has it been since she had last seen the sun? How long has it been since she last had some brighter moments? A long time ago, yea, but these years of darkness had felt like centuries going by, time crawling by, every day being worse than the other, especially after her alliance had been destroyed, the only thing that she had left now, was her daughter, the only one who had survived like herself. Of course this wasn't the time to complain about what had happened in the past, right now she had to focus on her own life, and of course, of her daughter's life. If she hadn't paid any attention before, she'd be dead by now because monster came and attacked her every time she was trying to get a rest. These was no rest for the poor female, but at least she knew that her only baby was save, and could sleep, yes, she'd wake over her child for as long as was needed, even if it would be the last thing she'd do. A feeling of mere sadness went through the female for a moment, which made her freeze in her tracks. Tears slowly started to form in her eyes, why.. Just why was it so hard not to think about her life?.. Her mate… Her other children.. And even her friends… Why did it all have to be taken away from her? Why?... The crystal tears dropped off of her chin, and fell to the ground with soft sounds, making the hard, death ground just slightly wet, the earth directly inhaling the water, but even if it did, it would never be saved again, yes, the earth was dried to the core. She cried… She just had to let her emotions out right now, almost everything was taken away from her, except just that one thing.. And that thing was more precious than her own life now, it had always been precious, but if she lost it now, she wouldn't want to live herself anymore… But again, she couldn't just stop now, no, even through all her exhaustions she had to move on, yes, there would come better times, and if she stopped now, she would lose it all. Part two: The ruins of a dragon So it had seemed that the monsters had kept themselves quiet for now, but yet, she could still hear their growls and howls in the distance. The sounds disgusted her, knowing that these sounds came from horrible beings which would rip you apart if they had the chance, but luckily for her, her specialty was to slow others down, after all, her element was ice. She actually was glad they held back for now though, it'd save her from fighting, and also saved her some energy, something she was in desperate need of right now. Looking around her, she could see black bricks in the distance, and throwing a half smile at it, she started to stumble into that direction, panting softly with every step she made, knowing that she coming closer to her goal now, but still, she couldn't tell if she was going to make it or not, but she trusted in the guidance of the ancestors, she knew that even in times like these, they were protecting her from the worst, and right now, she knew she was lucky to be alive. She got there just a moment later, stumbling through the remains of a wall it seemed, and as she looked around, she couldn't see more than ashes and black bricks. Almost no brick was left upon another, and without any doubt, there were no survivors here as well, another city swept away by the forces of the dark side, but wasn't this the place which they once called the 'dragon' city? The city where the guardians of the elements lived, and protected the world of falling in peril? Seems like they had failed, and like all the other cities, it had been swept off the map, left in the dust of the now charcoal ground. Next to a small, half broken wall, she settled herself down, hoping to be save here for just a short while, so she could rest and gain just a little strength to continue her journey through the fallen lands which once had been so full of life. Slowly after she had settled down, she turned her neck to grab her small child off of her back, and laid her down next to her, carefully not making any wild movements to wake the small thing up and startle it. Just after she had laid the small thing down next to her she glanced over it. Yes, it still was asleep, so that was a good thing, and laying her head down next to the small thing, she decided to close her eyes for just a short while, but she couldn't just fall asleep, no, she had to wake over the small thing, otherwise something might happen to them, and what if these creatures came, and killed them both? That wouldn't happen though, after all, they probably hadn't seen her go off to this place, neither did they know where she exactly was hiding, and luckily for her, both her scales and the scales of her child were dark enough to not get noticed. Now, just as she had closed her eyes, she could hear her own breathes escape her maw, but slowly, these sounds faded, and the darkness in front of her only became darker and darker, and before she knew it, she was swept away from the world, wrapped into a nightmare. Her tired body had given into the sleep, letting the blue dragoness sink away into a dark nightmare. She wanted to close her eyes, but as she did, she could only see darkness around her, and no matter where she turned her head to, there was only darkness, nothing else but the jet-black view. What was going on? What had happened?! Where had her child go?... Thoughts like these flew through the blue dragonesses her mind as she started to panic. This had to be a dream, no, rather a nightmare! This couldn't be reality! Suddenly, everything stopped, there was no sound, just nothing… When all out of sudden, she heard a voice, calling for her. "Shy… Shy…" Echoed though the dark realms of her own nightmare, making her gasp, and look around her once more. Where did that voice come from, and why… Why was it so familiar? A rather afraid look came upon her face as she gazed around just again, only to see the darkness again. "W-..Who are you?..." Was all the dragoness could say as in a reply to the dark voice which still slightly echoed inside of her own head. "You wouldn't want to know who I am, I promise, but now, I have to leave, there isn't much time left." The voice told, and right after that, she widened her eyes. "Wait! Who are you?!" She almost yelled, but it was too late, the echoing voice was no more, just leaving the dragoness on her own with the darkness, but then, another voice came to her, this time, soft a sweet, yet in an almost crying form, and as she closed her eyes to open them again, things started to blur in front of her. The darkness slowly started to fade into a more colorful sight, even though it was more red that she saw, and in front of her, she saw a small, black thing standing softly yelping at her. "Mom!.. Mom!..." Was what she heard when she finally came to her senses, and blinking again, everything was sharp again. In front of her stood Rain, her child, softly yelping at her, an almost crying voice coming from the small thing as it stood there. "Shh.." She replied in a soft matter of tone as she raised her head towards the small thing. It had all been just a dream.. She never had been away from her child, but… What, no, who? Who had been that voice that had talked to her? Had that also been a part of her nightmare, or was that something that had to happen? Right now, that wasn't important at all, no, she still had her child, and that was everything to her now, and so, softly embracing her child, she whispered to it; "It's alright.. Mommy is here…" A soft yet sad smile coming on her face as she picked her daughter up, just to set her onto her back again. Then, she just got up again, shaking slightly on her cut legs before continuing the road through the fallen dragon which once was the city of the dragons. End of part two. Part 3: On the brink of safety It had't been long before they had left the ruins behind them, stumbling over the dead land which was as far as even their dragonic eyes could reach, just the crimson dead land. The more she walked, the more her hope dried away, but her pool of hope would never become dry, no, she knew, and really knew for sure that her survival had a meaning, but the more she opened her eyes, them ore she had came to realise it. The darkness was pressing her onto the ground, and a soft, chilled breeze ran past her, but inside her head, it sounded like screams of the undead, calling for her. Her deep red eyes widened as she pushed herself up, feeling the need to keep going now. Even through her small nap hadn't been long, it still had given her some will to keep going, but still, the huffs escaped her, and she kenw that if they had to keep going like this, she'd collapse soon, and that, was a critical position, yes, if she collapsed, she'd be killed instantly, and not only her, but her only precious thing too, and that, must never happen, no, she'd never forgive this world for that… In the distance she could see a vulcano spit out some of its lava, and even throguh it was far away from her current location, it lighted the way slightly before her. It was then when the female noticed something stick out above of a mountain in the distance, it was like.. A wall which reached to the clouds in the heavens. What was it?.. Was it somewhere save, or was it just an illusion?.. She had to know it now, and so, strumblnig forwards to it, she slowly, but surely made her way there. Not long after, she finally climbed a rather low mountain, and now, standing ontop of it her maw dropped open. It wasn't just an illusion, no, it really was some-like barrier that stood up to the skies, no doubt about it. Behind it she could see a thick forest, and if her seight hadn't been so blurred, she would've seen three dragons standing there as well, but right now, she couldn't see more than just the thick tree's full of green leaves. A hal smile glided onto her face as she wanted to step down towards the barrier, but then, she heard a growl not too far from her, her head directly swaying towards where the sound came from, a rather scared look on her face as she saw five red eyes glowing in the dark, without a doubt staring at her. Then, it stood forward, a four legged creature with five red eyes which glowed through the darkness, an awful long tail with spikes all over it from base to tip. Running was no use, with legs like his he wouldn't have trouble in the slightest to hold up with the already cut dragoness, and so, quickly picking her child up and putting it on a half rotten away tree trunk on a save distance from where the beast was, she turned towards him to see that he tongue of it hang out of his maw, and as she could look into his maw now, it was like more than fifthy sharp teeth rested inside to rip anything it touched apart. "Keep her out of this!" The blue dragoness yelled at the creature which held its ground which an awkward look on its face. Just before the creature of pure blackness launched itself at her, it made an howling sound which only could be heard in the worst of nightmares, directly sending a cold chill through the spin of the dragoness which already was slight shaking on her legs, and as it launched tiself at her, she quickly jumped to the side, horrible pain shooting through her legs as she did, but just as the beast had came to the ground, it had launched itself at her again with another howl, she couldn't jump out of the way. The next thing she knew was a great pain shooting through her limps as the beast dug its jaws into her neck, a tormenting scream coming from the dragoness as the beasts tail was smacked into her body as well, and quickly shaking her whole body, she tried to shake the beast of, but when that didn't work she dropped herself onto her side, trying to flatten to beast with her own weigth. Everything was blurring even more in front of her eyes as her body more and more was giving up to the pain, but she couldn't just pass out, no… "R-..Rain.." She whispered to herself, that name quickly strengteging the female which was losing blood quickly. The beast had already letten go from the fall , and seemed to be hurt as two of his glowing red eyes were closed, still a growl coming from it. She, herself had one of her eyes closed as well as the pain kept rushing through the poor dragonesses body. As she turned her head slightly she saw that blood was dripping from multiple wounds throguhout her body, and even the wounds of her legs had opened again. "Great…" She thought as she knew that she was at a lose right now, but despite that, she knew she couldn't lose this fight, otherwise it was all done with her and her child, now, she couldn't allow that. She closed both her eyes for a moment and focussed, and as soon as she opened her eyes, there was no blur for her anymore, and as soon as she opened her maw, blue energy started to form in her maw, a chill coming around the female as that happened, she fired the energy at the beast, it directly forming into a spear like object, strucking the beast through its shoulder, a sharp howl filled with pain coming from it as the spear went directly through him, It retreated, leaving a small trail of blood behind, a sigh of relief and pain comnig from the dragoness as she stepped forward towards her daughter, and picking her up with yer maw, she started to stumble down towards the barrier, her last hope would rest there, but just as she came to the ground again, everything began to blur worse. "N-.. No.." Came from her as she started to slow down. Her body had given in, it was too weak to go on, and so as she fell down to the ground, her only beloved child fell out of her maw, rolling a few times, but then came to a stop not to far from where the bleeding dragoness was laying, and no matter how much she tried, she couldn't move a limp, it was then when she passed out and everything faded to darkness, she couldn't tell what wasgoing on or what was going to happen, but from a distance a group of creatures were watching her, silvia dropping from their maws as they smelled the scent of blood. Part 4: A place to call home Whispers ran though her mind as everything still was jet-black, she, feeling no response from body or soul at all, no, right now she seemed to be floating in an endless dark sea, unkowing where should would land ashore, aimlessly floating with the dark water as it led her across the depths of her own mind. But all out of sudden, her eyes opened as she now drifted on her stomach, and she could see her own reflection on the dark water, she couldn't move a muscle, but she could feel the water splashing under her, still making her glide over the water slowly, seeing her own red eyes stare back at her when suddenly the water went calm, and beneath her seemed to be a mirror, but staring back at her, wasn't the reflection she had expected, no, it was… Drake, her mate who died in the raid of the monsters, the only that had protected her from dying back there… "No…" She said, trying to shake her head, but she couldn't, her body refused to listen, and all she could do, is shed a tear onto the mirror below her, making it wave slowly, making the male fade away into white which started to surround the female, and before she knew it, she was falling down from the sky, through thick, white clouds, and even if she would try, she couldn't swap her wings, no, all she could do was give in into the sky, and fall down through the endless pack of clouds almost feeling weightless as she gazed up at her blue feet and tail glidng through the air at fast speed, barely seeing them as the clouds blurred her vision, and finally, when she closed her eyes, everything seemed to be gone, and there only was the sound of rustling leaves, a sound that used to soothe her when she was a small cub, before the world went into despair, and even since, she had longed to hear, but she knew she would never hear it again, but there it was… It was soothing her already, but where was it coming from? As she actually opened her eyes, everything in front of her eyes was blurred and was shaking from side to side slowly, a gleam of pure gold flashing through her vision, slowly, everything adjusting and showing its original form, but still, she would see things slightly blurred, a gloom spreading around everything she stared at. She could hear some mumbling but everything wasn't clear for her, and so, it all stayed as mumbling, but she could make out at least two other dragons standing not far away of her, seeming emotionless as she could only see blurred pictures dangling around in her vision as she laid there almost lifelessly, but.. There was this strange feeling, like something was coming back to her, and as she blinked a few times, she could make out there were three dragons, two were standing at both of her sides, and one was overshadowing her, his head was… Wait, what was that? He was biting in her neck, but not just in her neck, no right into the wound of the beast that had attacked her, but it didn't hurt at all, no, it felt strange, but not bad in any way at all, and as she looked closer, she saw a white, yet goldish glow around his teeth, and this time, it wasn't the blur, no, she was sure she saw everything perfectly fine, this had so be his doing, but.. What was it? She made a soft sort of groan as warm air escaped her, but directly, noe of the dragons next her said something to her. "Shh.. Lay still.." With just a blink of her eyes, she gazed up at the large, green male in armour with beautiful colors of bronze, silver and gold splashing across it, and wihout any language of her body, she followed what he said, and just laid still for a few more minutes, and as the one which had bit into her retreated his head, he licked his fangs dry off of her blood, and stepped away from over her, telling the large, green male beside her something, and then stepped away along with the other male which ahd stayed at the other side of her. For moments it was quiet, and he simply glared at her, raw, Brown eyes gazing at her as she laid there, not moving a muscle but then, he broke the silence. "So… He said I should take care of you for now…" He said, in a rather rough tune which instantly reminded her of Drake, a quite sad look on her face as she only gave a small nod, but then, instnatly, her eyes shot wide open. "W-..Where's Rain?..." She asked, and awkward look on her face as she did. "Who? Your cub?" He asked, tilting his head slightly, she only replied by givinghim a nod. "Oh, she's here right next to you, don't worry, she's just sleeping." He said, again in his rough tone as he gazed down at her. "Thank goodness.." Shy simply said in a rather hurt tone as she tried to move, but he stopped her."You need your rest now, you must be deadly tired, don't worry, I'll bring you to a place you can rest." Again, she only nodded, and let herself be picking up by the larger male, which seemed to be awkwardly strong, yea, he didn't even seem to fin dit hard to lift her, but right now, she was too tired to actually worry about such things, so simply giving herself up,she closed her eyes, and let her, and her child be carried away in the new area. End of the prologue. ((Link= gerpie.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2vcdro ))
