This is going to be a massive TL;DR post, but there's a lot of stuff that I need to bring up here D:
I know we had it announced that we were starting KO again right away a few months(?) ago, and that nothing has happened since then. Understandably, Duke assumed that because he'd written out the first few pages of the new Kloteck that I was ready to begin creating the artwork for it and, without my knowledge, posted that we'd be uploading pages again right away. This was my fault, as I'd made it sound like I would be ready to begin drawing right off the bat. This was obviously not the case. I just wanted to be planning and brainstorming at that point, and simply wasn't ready to create the art for it at that time.
Now, I know everyone is probably tired of hearing this, but I do have a chronic illness. It dictates every day of my life, and to be blunt, it's nothing short of Hell. In addition to finally being diagnosed with Dysautonomia last December, I found out last August that my skull base malformation is inoperable. This means that I'm basically f*cked and have no hope of ever being "normal." I can't jump out of bed first thing in the morning feeling well rested, take long and hot showers without risking passing out, spend a day at a theme park with my friends, walk through a crowd without getting disoriented, etc. I wish there was a way to explain it all in a way that everyone could understand, but there is no way to ever know how anyone else feels. The best way I've ever seen living with an "invisible illness" explained is through an article called "The Spoon Theory", which I highly suggest reading, especially if you have someone in your life who is chronically ill.
Despite all my complaining, I'm not about to roll over and just "live with it" like so many doctors have told me is my only option (and then not even offered me Rx painkillers, wtf?). I'm currently working toward raising money to have a guide/service dog trained to help me get around more easily, and I've finally begun to pick up drawing again.
So, what about the comic and the forum? As of now I'm working on coloring the cover image for the new Kloteck (the preview can be seen here). Duke already has a few pages worth written up, so I just need to catch up. I'd like to get at least one page a month posted after I get the cover finished, hopefully more.
As for the forum, here's what I suggest we do:
* Start over with an entirely new forum; new post counts, new boards, etc.
* Add new packs/villages as they are introduced in the comic as opposed to all at once, starting with Råknu.
TL;DR: We will get the comic back up and updating again. It's just going to take time while I sort out the priorities that I have in my life at the moment (raising money for a service dog, getting a job and/or taking a job training class and working on commissions).
While feedback and opinions are welcome and encouraged on this thread, I went ahead and created a formspring account for questions that peeps no doubt will have and want answered. It's a bit difficult for me to go through paragraphs and pick out questions and then conduct a reply in a forum post because of the weird way my brain works, so it'll be a lot easier and quicker for me to reply to questions with the way that formspring is set up. Just click on sadbutt-fairy Duke below to get to the KO page (or click here if the image doesn't show...Proboards is being screwy).
