Meeting with Carter yesterday in the late afternoon had made Fellen nervous. It was obvious that he was watching her. If he found out about her relationship with Nisse, he'd squeal to Nightshade, and then it would be all over. Death would be a gift compared to what would happen to Fellen and her beloved. So it was today, in the early morning, that she was seeking out the only Sallinian she could trust.
Her father.
She entered the cave quietly, not wanting to wake her mother. With all the stealth of her spy rank, she approached Kaine. Her tail swished back and forth behind her. As necessary as it was to wake him how she was planning to, it was fun too. With a couple light bounds, she landed on top of the aging male.
Once she was situated on hr fuzzy pillow, she'd tug his ear gently before speaking. "Daddy," she whispered in his ear, "I need to talk to you." After saying that, she'd roll off and walk slowly out of the cave. She looked back to see if her father was following. They couldn't talk here.
