There is only one word that could be used to accurately sum up Vincent; ambition. Blind to the needs of others, Vincent strives for nothing but recognition, rank and power. He has no regard at all for his fellows, and uses his intelligence to manipulate them into believing and trusting him, slowly grooming them to do his bidding.
To Vincent, the ends justify the means; in other words, he'll do anything to get to the top.
Vincent has no real friends; only tools to his sucess. If he feels that he can use an aquaintance of his in some way to his advantage, he will not hesitate to do so.
He has no sense of empathy; he is far too self-centered for that. To him, all that is important is his desire for status; his appearance, [ indicating that he is not at all vain ] his physical needs [ i.e. sleep, exercise etc ] as well as the requirements of his family and comrades are all irrelevant to him. He would quite willingly deprive himself of all these three if it meant a greater chance of gaining rank. Although selfish, he is not big-headed.
He is often percieved as a loner, purposely seperating himself from a group. He has no need for social interaction, and views it as a pointless waste of time; he could instead be pursuing some ambition of his.
Vincent has an extremely active mind and is quick of wit, constantly requiring stimulation through any sort of task, mental or physical. When bored or lacking inspiration, Vincent can become nervous and aggitated and obviously uncomfortable.
He is not aggressive, nor is he egotistical; he is simply ambitious in every sense of the word. Vincent has no inclination towards boastfullness, and if anything will shy away from exhalting himself, liking others to regard him as modest. In fact, when conversing he shows little visible emotion; he views displays of emotion in any form as weak, and so does his best not to do so.
He views himself as a mere pawn, no greater than any other being; everyone is a challenger. Everyone is something to be conquered, to outdo.
When conversing, he is blunt and despises weakness in any form; although he does not ridicule weaklings, he exhibits little tolerance towards those he believes to be in some way inferior or that he has taken a dislike to.
