A Half-Dog's Travels (Acceptance?)

Blaze padded onward, lost and uncertain. He pricked his wolfish ears and continued forward in the rain. His golden-brown eyes flashed as he looked to each side for some sign of shelter. He didn't see any. Sighing, he continued walking, his head slightly upwards, but his tail dragged in the mud. His paws were caked with wet sand and dirt, making his feet feel heavy. He shook his head and kept walking.

An ebony and ivory fae stood on one of the knolls above where the half-breed was walking, her crimson eyes watching him. His stance was down hearted and his constant sighing was becoming irksome. What the hell did he want anyway? Usually members who wanted acceptance howled for Kahvie, yet this mutt stayed silent. Black paws carried the femme from one knoll to the next, until she was ahead of him on the path. Her black ears were pricked towards him, while her tail flowed up and over her back like a two-tone banner. Her red scarf blew in the slight breeze and her silver cross hung around her neck. Without saying a word she barred the mix's way.

Blaze perked his ears, surprised by the sudden arrival of the two-tone female. His tail twitched at the notice of her high tail, a sign of dominance. He dipped his head. "Might you be one of the residence of this area?" He asked, making sure to avoid her gaze. He did not want to appear challenging. In fact, he wanted to show his friendliness and devotion. But he stayed quiet, waiting for a response.

The female nodded, her ruby eyes looking him over with cold indifference. His stature was submissive, which suggested that he was not any threat at the moment. She stood still, awaiting the next question that she was sure would come.

Noticing that she did not answer and that she seemed to accept his submissive attitude. Blazeasked another question. "What rank might you be?" He asked, making sure his tone was not aggresive in any way.

The femme's eyes did not change, nor did she make any motion to move towards him. She was a statue of white and black and red. Her silver cross sparkled on her neck and she held the same position. Then she opened her slender maw and spoke in a silvery voice.

"I am the Beta female of these lands."

[Shantik]

Blaze nodded. He dipped his head. "I am called Blaze." He explained, sitting down. Now that he knew of what rank this stranger was, he decided to pay her more respect.
