Ira stood as one against the world, feeling the saturated sand beneath her paws as the early morning storm raged on; there was no sign of the rising sun in the heavily overcast sky, the wind raged and roared violently and the rain fell like searing daggers of ice from the clouds. The waves beyond the shore leaped and crashed tumultuously and as Ira took all of this in, she couldn't help but relate. There she was, the "bitch with the chip on her shoulder" as she'd been known in the past; hell only knew she was aware of the subliminal messages and had a fair reciprocal of such abusive behaviour; if physical action was any way to react. Such had gotten her thrown out of her old Pack but now she was alone, now she could bide her time and wait to pick them off one by one.
Coming away from such vindictive thoughts, Ira moved forward in search of shelter; the storm only looked to be getting worse and as she'd spent the whole night travelling, she wouldn't fare the rest of the day in such conditions. How this exile she'd once joked about could possibly turn out so sour wasn't beyond her, it was beneath her; but still, survival was more important was vengeance and along the endless shores stretching before her, surely there would be a place to remain out of the weather's grasp. After more wandering and recurring wrathful thoughts, she saw a distant hollow in an escarpment; against the wind, she ran towards the cave and was just about to enter when there was movement. In the shadows, something stirred and alarm bells started to ring; there within the confines of the shelter was a stranger.

Kait lept up at the sound of bells. The alarm had been there when she had taken shelter in the cave, but she'd been carefull not to step on them in case the person who set them was still around. Something must be coming in, and not the original owner of the trap. The setter tensed and waited for what would happen next.
She stared at the enterance to the cave and found there a large Gray Wolf. Fear jolted through Kait's bones and she ran farther back into the cave. When she reached the back and found no escape, she turned to face the stranger.
"Who are you?" she growled deeply. "Go away!" She barked twice and let out another growl, but she knew these threats were empty. The setter was tired and soar. The sailors on the ship she had snuck onto that morning were not as kind as she'd hoped they'd be. As soon as they found her on board, they threw her over, not fond of having a stow away in there midst. Luckly, the ship wasn't more than a mile away from shore so she had just enough strength to swim back, but she had used everything she had in her to do so. If this wolf had come on a normal day it would be hard enough to fight her, but seeing as she was almost to weak to stand, Kait knew she was dead.
"Why today?" The setter asked herself as she crouched low to the ground and tried to look threatening. "Please let her not be in a fighting mood."

Jerking back in surprise at the sudden metallic clattering, Ira shook her head from side to side before collecting herself and poking back in to be met with a growling voice that set her on edge. At hearing the words "Go away" ringing in her ears, she felt a pang of aggression, then quashed by the fact that she was alone. Now was not a time to be confrontational, especially in this state of weather and last she'd fought, nothing but misfortune had come of it. Straining to exercise courtesy, she spoke in what she hoped was a polite tone; "I am ever so sorry for my unprecedented entrance," she began "I was seeking shelter from the rain and can assure you that I mean no harm"
((Sorry about the short reply!))

No harm? 'Good' Kait thought. She dropped back down and lay on the cave floor.
"You're free to take shelter here, but I can't guarantee it's safe. I don't know the original resident. You may stay at your own risk." Kait closed her eyes rested her head on her paws.
"I apologize, but I won't be the best company at the moment," The setter went on to say. "I'm a bit to weak to carry on any conversations."
Kait ignored any actions of the stranger from that point on. Not to be rude, of course, but if she wasn't going to pose any threat then Kait wanted to get her energy back as soon as possible. She soon fell back into a deep sleep that continued through the day.
((OOC--sorry for the short reply. I've been really busy but I wanted to respond as soon as possible))

((Every so sorry for this ridiculously long delay; I do know what this eventual reply will consist of but my computer seems to enjoy shutting down whenever I try to type it... the axe lodged in the tower doesn't seem to have done much good either...))
