Dean was fast asleep under a large ledge in Dante's Pass. The two of them were on their way across the lands in search of the person/thing that killed their mother, helping others along the way. Thier journies took them all across the map, here there, everywhere.
The older brother of the two-fer was snoring as loud as possible next to his younger and much more serious brother. Dean, the shorter and older male was always a funny guy of the two. He cared much for his family and thought that it was his duty for the rest of his life to protect his little brother, eventhough it looks by their appearance that Dean might not suit the position considering their height differences.

Sam shifted gently, tossing his form over nearby. He scowled, draping his paws across the top of his head in a vain attempt to block Dean's snores. It seemed his older brother couldn't be quiet even in the depths of sleep.
It had been days since he'd had a proper rest. It wasn't just his brother's nighttime noises that had been preventing him from sleeping. Nightmares had been plaguing him. Every time he'd so much as nodded off he'd awaken with a yelp. They were always identical, carving themselves deeper and deeper in his mind. Jessica's body, dripping blood. Her lips parted... Sam... why didn't you help... The quieter of the two removed his paws, shaking his head about as though trying to remove all those memories. In a way his brother's deep snores were helpful, stopping him from drifting off to sleep to her the same awful vision. But it didn't stop them from being any less annoying. With an available forepaw, Sam gave his brother a sharp shove. "Do you mind?"

[Bander! you put all my posts to shame! ] Dean dreamed of many females at one time. He was much of a womanizer and never really settled down with anyone. Usually in his sleep he was drooling with a quirky smile up on his face, his darker tail wagged occasionally. Dean didnt suffer from love lost like Sammy did, but he was close to their father and mother, it was a different pain that he suffered, but he never showed that it bothered him. With the hard shove he leaned over and yawned largely, his teeth blatently obvious in Sammy's face "What the hell do you want?" He finished his yawn, licking his lips as he did so, stretching his shorter, but more muscular forearms. "Why aren't you asleep Sammy" his ears laid back in annoyance. Why should Sammy impede his insomnia onto him. He was dreaming so vividly and it was a Good dream too.

[Pffft, no I don't XD Silly Jak. This one's gonna be short, sorry]
Sam raised an eyebrow at the bit of drool that still hung from his brother's jaws. Had he been witness to Dean's dreams he quite possibly would have been both embarrased and somewhat disgusted. It was a good thing, then, that his brother didn't share them.
"Why aren't you asleep Sammy?" Sam flattened his own ears back in reply. "Don't know how to expect me to with all your snoring." He looked away, trying not to let the older wolf see the fear in his eyes. He didn't give the real answer. He didn't want to. The pain it caused him felt crushing. Doubts, blame, regrets. Besides that, his brother would probably see it as weak. "And what did I tell you about calling me that?"

[okay so this one made mine look good, but now all yer other ones are gonna be better XD]
Dean sighed lightly as he sat up on his haunches. The look Sammy was giving at that moment told it all. Dean knew about Sammy's dreams, even though Sammy thought he didnt. He didnt know what pain Sammy was going through, but he could tell it really hurt him bad, but being the stubborn jack ass he was he wasnt going to get sentimental about it.
Dean grinned as he nudged his little brother. "What about all those nights you thought i was asleep and i caught you peepin on some of the girlies?" He chuckled lowly, knowing that Sammy wasn't as innocent as he claimed to be. "Come on now Sammy, I'm your brother, I have every right to call you what i want" He said proudly, puffing his chest out.

"What about all those nights you thought i was asleep and i caught you peepin on some of the girlies?" Sam pratically leapt to his feet. Somewhere under his fur, his cheeks were a vibrant red. Now there was a topic best avoided.
He quickly butted in, changing the subject back, practically cutting his brother off. He glared at him with a rather disapproving look. "Dean - 'Sammy' is a chubby pup." It was a topic baught up to change the subject, sure, but Sam indeed hated the nickname. It made him feel that he was being spoken down to, just the way his father always had. In a way he was glad that they had never stayed still, just so it couldn't catch on. The last thing he needed was anybody else calling him 'Sammy' too.
Pacing foward, he shook himself off, littering the ground with whatever bits of part-decayed leaves, dust and twigs he had had picked up from laying in the dirt. "Maybe we should just get going. We have to find dad." He was certain: when they found their father, he would get answers about everything that was happening.

Dean laughed as he got to his feet, watching his lil brother's reaction. And Sammy thought he was all sneeky abou this little girlie addiction. Not long ago he lost Jessica, but he still looked around, it was in the male genes to do so. Dean never got attached to a girl for fear of going through what Sam was.
"I don't care. You're Sammy to me and that's that" His voice was stern. "Sammy is not the name of a Chubby Pup, it's your name KID" he stuck his face into Sammy's to prove the point that Dean was infact the older of the two. Even though he had to look up to his younger brother.
Dean looked away as his ears fell. "We know he's alive atleast. We keep hearing he's around. But Dude," he exhalted "We need to get some sleep too." He strolled up next to him and looked over the view. It was night and the moonlight made everything an eerie white color. "Damnit Sammy I'm Friggin Tired" He turned and snapped at his brother. He needed his rest and the fact that Sammy woke him up didnt sit to well with him. He didnt want to think to heavily at the moment. He just wanted to sleep.

Sam sighed, rolling his eyes as the older sibling stuck his face in his. Considering he was indeed older, there were times when he didn't act it. Just because he was older didn't mean he knew better. Plus Sam was never going to be able to convince his brother to stop calling him that! Well, if Dean was planing on getting him in a bad mood, he would do the same. Pacing up paralell his brother to exaggerate, he looked down at him. "You know, it's funny how for a kid I'm still taller than you."
"We know he's alive atleast. We keep hearing he's around." He pulled himself back, feeling partly defeated, though his mind wasa still running a million miles a minute. How could they know for sure, Sam found himself questioning. Maybe he was somewhere right now, near by even, fighting with whatever it was that had killed their mother and his Jessica. He was certianly not looking foward to meeting up with their father again, but if it meant that he could get the awnsers he wanted, some kind of closure... "But dude, we need to get some sleep too. Dammit Sammy I'm friggin tired!" Sam narrowed his eyes. He didn't want to sleep, and it would be much better that he did something proactive. "Fine." he snapped, "But I'm going to go scout around." To reinforce, he turned on his heel and trotted off.

Dean watched Sam's expressions intently as the comment about his height was made. He narrowed his eyes and perked a brow. "Dont make me kick your ass" He said in a calm and cool voice as he nudged him once again, hoping to make the younger male fall to his side or belly, but it didn't happen.
Dean sighed heavily as he leaned his weight to one side. He wanted to find their father just as much as Sam wanted to, but he knew that he was safe. Something said he was and that the two of them should be on their way looking for someone else and helping others. Thier father would leave tracks and notes behind for the boys to find and help out. Dean knew that meant he was alive and well. It would take more than just some supernatural thing to kill their father and he knew it.
The shorter darker male turned about to go back to sleep before turning and seeing Sammy walk off. "HEY!" Dean shouted before leaping to catch up. It was his duty to keep his little brother safe, and letting him run around all by himself isnt healthy with all the wierd things out there. He had to protect him. Keep him safe. "Sometimes Sammy" He shook his head as he cought up and grunted.

"Hey!"
Sam trotted on, completely ignoring his brothers yell. "Sometimes Sammy." Sam turned his head to his brother, raised an eyebrow at him as they continued on. Sometimes what? It was good to give his brother some of Dean's own irritating, jackassy medicine. "I thought you were going to sleep." Hard as he could to restrain a smile, it appeared as the smallest of victorious smirks.

Dean perked a brow as he trotted along side Sam. He took a deep breath and smirked. "Well, I wouldnt want you to be beat up by all those girlies you check out everytime I sleep. I mean, how bad would it make me look if I let my lil brother get caught up in all those girlies and me not gettin' any?" He laughed and grinned back. When it came to Jackassiness, Dean was king and Sam couldn't even come close.

"Well, I wouldnt want you to be beat up by all those girlies you check out everytime I sleep." Even if it was something he couldn't really help, he felt enough guilt on looking so close to Jess' death. Dean's words were like salt being rubbed in the wounds. He glared at his brother again, though somehow resisted the urge to stamp on his older siblings's paw or to give him any sort of good whack. He finally simply settled on dragging his head foward and snorting, simply muttering "Jerk".
The full moon cast a good amount of light, and the half-dried muddy path was draped in moonlight. So often he had heard such a scene referred to as 'beautiful' or similar, but he knew better. He'd seen the things that creeped around at these times. They were evil, dangerous but not 'beautiful'.
Suddenly from somewhere up ahead a sharp shriek rang out. Sam paused, turning to Dean again. "Did you hear that?" he questioned, though relatively certian his brother had. It was hard not to hear it through the silence. It could've been a bird or bat, something mundane - but it could also have been something else.

Dean looked around at the eerie scene before looking over at his little brother with a perked brow. "Bi*ch" He said plainly with a smile on his face before shaking his head and moving ahead lightly. If anything was going to happen or come from some random fog that chooses to make itself known; it would have to go through him before getting to Sammy.
The darker male shook his pelt as a chill ran up his spine. His ears flattened to his skull as a feeling came over him. Something was going to happen, he knew it would. He turned and looked at Sam before the noise struck his ears like a familiar ring. "Sheet" he muttered before looking around suspiciously. "I dunno Sammy, seems kinda creepy to me, nothing natural i'd say" He walked back to Sam and stood next to him protectivly.

"Bi*ch." Sam shot Dean a venomous glare, looking rather as though he was about to brutally shove the other for that comment.
The jab was quickly forgotten, however. Whatever it was had sounded high-pitched. Whether it was something or someone being attacked, there was definetly a chill in the air that accompanied the unusual. The shiver that had run up Dean's spine did the same to him now, causing the hairs along the nape of his neck sticking up. "I dunno Sammy, seems kinda creepy to me, nothing natural i'd say." As Dean came up beside him, Sam looked questioningly at him. At first the younger one had been argumentative about tracking down such beasts, wanting to simply dedicate his time to finding their father's trail. Dean had eventually managed to talk him out of it, and it had quickly become tradition that they would hunt the sucker down and rid the world of it. Looking back ahead, he crouched slightly and began to slink in the direction of the noise.

Dean's hair along his spine stood on end as he bared his teeth. "Sam, stay close" He moved forward as well, his tail held silently behind him as his ears were on the look out for any other noises. He hated the unnatural. It just wasnt right and he didnt like how it interacted with the normal people.
He stopped and looked in the direction of a large cave that didnt seem there before, when they went looking for a place to sleep. "Sheet Sam, was that there when we passed earlier?" He shook his pelt of the creepy feeling that didnt seem to shake off. "Damn it" he shivered again. "RRRRRRRR" he muttered before looking around for anything else.
