Shanda hesitated at the suggestion of exploring-now, at this very moment. Amelia was forcing her to leave her comfort zones. For a brief moment, a battle raged in Shanda's mind. Amelia was a wise creature, and she knew all to well the only way to overcome your fears was to face them-Shanda realized that was what Amelia was making her do-face her fears....but her fears were so strong.....stupid, but strong....
Shanda sat on the beach, her ears rotating, falling to rest half back on her head, the breeze blowing her black mane like fur into her eyes and she observed her surroundings, trying to clear her mind as to think so that Amelia wouldn't write her off as pathetic, hopeless, unteachable soul. She tried to clear her mind....Amelia wanted to see what she was familiar with first-now that wasn't too hard.....Come on, Shanda, relax...she thought...
"Um....ok....explore...." she stumbled through the words. "Well, I'm most familiar with where we are right now. It has been my home for several weeks. As far as I know, this is the north part of the territory," she said, standing and slowly walking toward the water's edge, pausing to look back and see if Amelia was following. She stopped near the line of driftwood that the wolf named Anubis had interrupted her meal at a few days back.
"This place is one of the best hunting places I've found on the beach. Here, when it is cold, you can catch unsuspecting birds as they try to stay warm, and if there is no birds, then the crabs that come ashore and hide under the wood make quick snacks. Just a few days, I met a wandering wolf here. His name was Anubis, and I don't know if he is still around..." Shanda started, remembering the events of that day....she didn't know if Amelia was interested in this fact, but it just came out anyway...
She paused and looked back at Amelia, a look of uncertainty on her face, wondering if this was the kind of information she wanted to hear about. The water's edge was not that exciting, and soon she would take her to see what layed beyond the treeline...but even that would go quickly, as she had not explored much of that....
[ooc-sorry for the late reply-work was really hectic right after I pm'd you...and i'm just now getting to slow down....]

*She followed Shanda, soaking all the information that she could, the hunting part was interesting enough, though Amelia wasn't much for hunting, she was a scavenger. Trash bins behind restaurants and taverns were more her style. Amelia's poof of pinks curls stayed in place as the breeze swift by, her webbed paws sinking into the moist sand as she walked along.
"Anubis?" A name, a wolf?... She tried to think what a wolf was. She knew what an Irish Wolfhound was, maybe they were similar. Big hair dogs with no brains. Whatever the case, she now has another name. "Do you know if he is a native to these parts?" She asked curiously, when Shanda paused, so did Amelia, her head canted to the side. She needed to know her surroundings better, these foreign creatures and the land they dwell in.

Shanda looked out over the waters as she paused and awaited Amelia's response. The strange pink dog looked a little puzzled when she mentioned the wolf Anubis and then asked if he was native to these lands.
Shanda thought back over her short visit with the strange foriegn wolf she'd met on the beach. No, he was not from around here.
"No, he was from a place he called desert, and I haven't seen him since that day. Most of the creatures you come across on this beach are travelers from all over. I have not met any here that are from around these parts, and the few that I have met, I have not seen twice. This place seems mainly a neutral place that travelers pass through on their way to their next destination.
Shanda had noticed a slight hint of hesitation when she'd mentioned hunting. This dog didn't seem the hunting type, but you couldn't judge a book by its cover. But Amelia would have a hard time in the lands of Scatterstone if she could not hunt. Shanda turned and faced the tree line. She slowly made her way towards it. The sun was beginning to slowly set, casting a gental orange glow across the sea and over the beach. The breeze was beginning to subside, and the gulls were starting to land on the beaches further north and to the south of the dogs, safely out of reach.
"Along the tree line, you can find many puddles and small trickles of streams to find fresh water. I do not know how much longer these will be around before they freeze for the winter, but it will happen soon. I will have to find other water sources after that. The salt grass and the many fallen trees and driftwood make good shelter."
She paused again, awaiting any questions Amelia may have.
