"He's with his owner, a sick little boy named Tom...Sparky never leaves his side when the boy is ill." This much was true, Viernes had to respect the dog for being so loyal. "I don't think he's gonna make it though, I don't know what he's going to do without him." The Saluki mix just shook her head sadly.
"So what really brought you here Jourdan? Why here of all places, for a wolf? I mean you could be anywhere, wild and free..." her ears perked, she was truly curious. "I mean, could you not get into a wolf pack? Is that why you joined with dogs? Not that there is a problem with that...but it just seems so strange..."
Viernes head cocked, as she tried to focus on the red wolf with no success.

Jourdan answered without hessitation.
"The freedom you're talking about isn't all it's cracked up to be. My kind is heartless. Having pure blood is the only thing that matters to them. Anybody who doesn't or doesn't behave like they do are wiped out. If you're not strong enough, you get killed. Unlike most of them I was born with a conscience." He paused. "Besides, I've always thought the bond between human and kanine was pretty cool. I thought I might like to share a part of it."
"And what about you?" asked the wolf. "You seem to hate the idea of humans, or at least the idea of living with one. What does someone like you come to a village for?"

"No one is born without a conscious Jourdan. That's silly." The Saluki lifted her brows skeptically at such a claim. "Not dogs, or wolves or any other creature...its just some conscious get clouded with power, logic, or something else." Her ears twitched, as he asked a question of her.
"I don't hate humans, hating something takes too much effort, I just don't want to be somebody's pet...and I don't agree with how some of them treat well...so called wild animals." Viernes was hardly so prejudiced.
"I mean, not all dogs are tame, obviously, not all wolves are wild." She winked at the male, a grin on her face. "I stop by the village because I like meeting other dogs, and where else to find them? Even when I was kept...I was wild...somebody's hunting hound. "

No one without a conscious, huh? Jourdan snuffed at this. The Saluki obviously hadn't met some of the wolves he had.
The wolf listened to his friend talk. He was begining to grow bored of conversation, and he wanted to do something to get his mind on his unowned state, a pain that was still bothering him, though he tried not to show it. One thing she said, though, brought an idea to his mind.
"Wild animals, huh?" Jourdan smiled wickedly. "Let's show them just how wild we can be!" And with those words, he ran.
