"Well, let's head that way, then," Devi noted her words but, continued to bounce along, like a feather on a windy breeze. His dark fur flopped all over the place, spiking up, flattening, and puffing back up again. His right eye was still closed, and his tail flopped behind him, looking almost as though he did not control it, and it went every which haphazard way it felt like.
But, for a moment, he didn't feel her presence, nor another happy friend, or some other enthusiastic being that was just as ecstatic as he was. He stopped bouncing, and turned in place. She was walking, and she had now looked back at him. Devi only gave himself a moment to angle his head to the side, confused, before he set off after her position.
As soon as he got there, he made to bound straight in front of her, bouncing as he had only minutes ago. And when he got there, he spanked to the ground, in the wolf word of play, rear in the air, swishing back and forth, and his tail acting like a fan.
"Don't you want to play too?"

*Troubled sleep. That was uncommon for the jester. But for a week now it had plagued him. A dark figure looming closer and closer towards him. But the grey wolf would just sit and smirk, though on the inside he was terrified. It would come so close, the breath could be felt on his coat. Wordlessly, it told him to come, to follow, to submit to him. It was then his dream self would get scared on the outside, and every time he turned to run, he could barely hit top speed. Inevitably, the great blackness would consume him, but not with malice. A hint of hatred, overpowered by remorse and determination…he couldn’t see now, couldn’t move…it had him now…*
DEVI!
*Tarot woke with a terrible start. Just as he had with all the other dreams. This was the farthest it had ever gotten, and the little male thrashed in his spot, trying to remember where he was. His panicked face swung around harshly. Rock, moonlight, water…DEVI! There! In the water! With another scream, Tarot saw the stern face of his brother staring at him from his reflecting pool! Hurriedly, he stomped in the water, causing the reflection slowly rippling away. Huffing for breath, Tarot finally sat. Finally, everything was coming together… The panic was dripping away slowly, and a manic laugh escaped him as he whispered.*
Divinations, you old devil. You’re out to find me, aren’t you…?
*It had never occurred to him that his brother would come looking. They never really gotten along…and that was one of the main reasons he left the pack. Still laughing like a made man, he only made it half way down his hidden trail before he leapt off the ledge, and hit the ground running…*
*Tarot ran for a good half and hour. Not that he was terribly excited to see his brother, but that he had this manic energy to burn. Nose high and sniffing, he didn’t catch the faint scent of his brother till he had almost left the beach. Hmm…scenting…Tarot didn’t want his brother finding him first. The male ran to the beach and rolled in the pebbles. Dried salt lay everywhere, and he hoped the saline smell would take over his own. As he shook off his fur, he realized what he was stepping in…mud…ah…a smile spread onto his maw. Shanda was nearby. With this fellow prospect, he continued to run, until he heard voices…*
*Tarot slunk, almost snakelike, behind a boulder. Low and behold, he was right. Devi, standing there…and…it was all he could do not the laugh at the luck, his favorite hybrid. What a night this will be, he thought, as he settled in the dark, waiting for the opportune moment for an entrance*

She watched as he paused, sensing that she'd left. She didnt' quite know if he'd heard her or not, but it didn't take him long to figure it out. He bounded towards her as happy as ever, the soft midnight blue hues of the moon's light reflecting off his bouncing pelt. The playfulness raidiated from his one blue eye. She smiled widly as he drew near, but never expected what he did next.
When the large male suddenly jumped infront of her, blocking her path, his tail end in the air, large paws druming the beach, tail wagging crazily, she jumped back slighly, taking an almost sitting postion, a look of pure confusion upon her face, her ice blue eyes full of questions.
"What....?" She started, but then he spoke.
"Don't you want to play too?"
She fully stood again, as that postion was making her legs cramp. Her black tipped ears swiveled back in hesitation, her dark gray forlock falling into her confused eyes, and she had to blow a puff of breath out the side of her mouth to remove them. She stared at the crazy wolf before her. Play? She thought hard. She remembered back home, watching the other pups from a distance as they ran, chased each other, tackled each other, chased random things.....how she'd wanted to be able to join them. She'd only tried once, and got chased away...she'd once tried to chase some leaves as a pup, but felt rediculous....She'd decided at a very young age that playing was just silly...the lie she'd told herself to make it not so unbearable that she'd been completely alone.....
She glanced back into his one open eye. She had to say something, but what could she say? She didn't want to be ridiculed again, like when she was a pup...
She was so preoccupied with the memories in her head and the silly wolf infront of her to notice the arrival of a new scent, lucky for Tarot, he was downwind....
"I...I...I'm not good at playing," A very lame excuse. Stupid! Stupid! she thought, as she forced a smile and tried to lightly side step him. It would take and act of God to get her to play, or else a very clever wolf....
[ooc-haha-I love it....this is just getting too good....you both are just plain awesome writers....I cant wait to see where this goes]

A look of pure confusion upon her face, her ice blue eyes full of questions.....the male stared at her for a moment when she stood back up, which, he hadn't really seen the reason why she nearly plopped down on her rear for. What was wrong? Devi couldn't quite see it in her eyes at the moment, but soon, he would know. "I...I...I'm not good at playing,"
That very sentence, stopped him completely, and the smile disappeared from his face, the only thing that didn't leave was the twinkle in his eye. He hadn't smelt Tarot, nor was his mind even f his brother at the moment. His mind was on the she wolf in front of him. How could a wolf not be good at playing? All wolves play, even wolves that have a cruel heart will find themselves at one point, reverting back to a puppy.
He cocked his head to the side, now very much startled, confused, and....just....no understanding. He went straight up to her as she tried to side step, and again he made to get in her path. Reaching out, he tried to take his nose, and set it right under her chin, pink snake slithering from his trap in a begging lick. He transformed himself straight into a puppy, his body low to the ground, huddled up, so that he looked small. The tip of his tail wagged back in forth in plea, and his blue eye watched her own orbs, and the bottom of his lip gutted out again.
He acted so much like one, that it nearly looked like a pup with it's parent, one who didn't want to play with him. It was the same thing he had used on his own mother and father, when he would throw himself in between them and his brother, who hogged all the attention. To Divinations, it brought back those old memories, and suddenly, those thoughts of sorrow raced across his mind....and his eye. Moments later, remembering what had happened to him in his puppy hood, caused him to pull his ears back, and his plume tail flopped downward, limp.
The memories themselves brought upon his pain, and he looked almost as if he was in it, and he soon was to be. For, within his mind, there was a trap just waiting to be sprung.
She might have said something then, but he heard it not, for he was on the ground, curled up, his paws over his head, his claws digging into his skull. The migraine hit him out of no where, and it hurt to the point where tears welled up in his eyes. His teeth grated together, a sharp whine in his throat, that even didn't last long. It disappeared almost as quickly as it began, and soon he was crawling to his feet, almost stumbling back to the ground. Muttering something about 'headache' and catching a small glimpse of movement from something. Behind a nearby boulder, but he could fully tell what, for his eye was blurred with tears, and he could care less what -or who- it was.
But he wished he knew.

Shanda had attempted to just kinda step around him, to ignore the fact that he wanted to play with her. But when he quickly moved to cut her off, she froze in step as he suddendly thrust his nose under her chin, his quick tounge coming out in an attempt to lick her. She flinched just quick enough that the lick missed it's target. Her head craned back, her ice blue eyes glaring at him, not in malice or anger, but complete surprise. She watched as he hunkered down into a large ball of playful fluff, his one open eye begging her to play, the tip of his tail wagging. He was giving her those peading puppy eyes again.
Shanda was at a loss of words and action. What the heck just happened? Had he just tried to lick her? She was about to comment, but watched as his one eye suddenly filled with pain, his ears pulled back and his wagging tail went limp. Before she knew what had just happened, he had his head to the ground, covered by his paws, and a painful whine escaping from him.
"Devi? Devi! Are you alright?" She exclaimed, but with no response. Worry erased the shock of his simple, playful lick, and she rushed to his side, nuzzling the side of his head, trying to get some sort of response from him. She jumped back slightly when he suddenly began to move, trying to get to his feet. His one open eye appeared to be tear filled. She quickly moved in next to him, helping brace him up as he was about to stumble again. She stood next to him until he seemed to be stable, and she thought she heard him say headache under his breath...
"Devi? Are you ok? What just happened?" She was truly concerned for him. She'd never seen anyone do what he just did, and it scared her. She hoped her refusal to play hadn't just sent him into this pain, she couldn't bear that thought. She stayed standing next to him, making sure he'd have support in case he should fall again. She glanced around; they needed to move somewhere where he could sit and rest. She spotted some rocks by the treeline.
"Come on, Devi. Let's go to those rocks over there where you can rest a bit. I'll stay by you if you need me too," She said, voice full of concern.

*Mix matched eyes filled with mischief on the point of malice sparkled as he watched two of the wolves he had ever come close to speak. Devi wanted to see him, and see him now, while his dear Shanda tried to avoid the subject of play. His tongue lolled in a laugh, she never had been physically playful. She loved to spar with her words with Tarot, and he anything but disliked it. A battle of the wits was always welcome. Curious, however, that his brother was so interested, and lowering himself to a puppy stage in order to lure her in. Funny. A similarity between the two of them. When the wanted something, they would persist. The little male almost yapped in laughter as he went to lick her. When he had known the hybrid the same amount of time, he knew her well enough not to pull that. Shanda's reaction was priceless, and it was all he could do not to roll on the ground laughing…but the environment soon changed… *
*His brother now fell limp, eyes squinting and whimpering. Barely audible, Tarot whimpered as well, shifting weight from foot to foot. Head cocked, he wondered what was going on. What had happened? It was known they had never been close as brothers, but…he worried slightly for his inverted kin. As the large black head sluggishly turned around, Tarot noticed two things. One, his brother would almost constantly keep his red eye closed. Curious…curious indeed. And secondly, and more importantly…he was looking right at him! With a gasp he retreated his head, was this the end of his spying? But no real audible word was made, other than headache. He sighed, his cover hadn't been broken…*
*But before he could relax too long, his lady suggested that they move to the rocks…Tarot looked around…what rocks… With a little growl, he realized…THESE ROCKS! His cover would surely be blown…and of course by Shanda. He let the smallest laugh leave him now, the irony was perfect. He had spent a day messing with her, now it was her turn…inadvertently! The light wolf had to do something now. It was not his style to just sit and wait, having his fun be spoiled. He had to make it look like it was his plan all along to be revealed now. No, he would not compromise his pride. Tarot took a deep centering breath, he had to be perfectly in character for this entrance. So, with a plan in mind, he effortlessly jumped to the top of the rock they had spoke up. His striped tail held high, usual grin on his face, and paws planted firmly.*
Oh, what, you mean THESE rocks, my Lady Shanda?

[[This is the only time he is ever going to do this..]]
"Devi? Devi! Are you alright?" Her words echoed in his pounding ears, combining with the pounding of his head. His claws scraped against the sand and grit, trying his best to hold himself up. He would have hit the ground again, had it not been for Shanda at his side, steading him. His single, tear filled eye opened, and he caught a glimpse of movement, a flash over at the rocks. But, he ignored it, passing it off as just a movement of his own fur, or the pelt of the fae that stood next to him. "Devi? Are you ok? What just happened?" He moved his head, to look up at her, if only for a moment. The next moment, he was standing again, reeling, dizzy.
Not only was he confused, but dozens of emotions ran through him. His headache was n longer the cause of a migraine, but all the stress that had built up on him. The jealousy he felt toward his brother, the loss when his brother left. The pain and sorrow he was put through only a little while after he went after his dear brother, the mission, and the attack that nearly left him dead.
The next emotion to hit him was anger. Devi was angry at himself, angry at the world, angry at his brother for even dragging him into this when he left. It was the only thing he had against his brother, the jealousy and loss. But all that stress was building up, and threating to break loose, like an earthquake snapping through a defenseless city. Like that city, Devi had no way to control what came upon him.
Every single emotion that the male knew raged through him, and he didn't know what was happening, all he knew was that he was somewhere, within his mind, black and pitch darkness that flooded his vision. He was close to the rocks that everybody seemed to be talking about, even though he didn't know it, and that was because of his awkward movement.
Before he knew it, he had opened his eye, but not he blue one. His red eyes shone clear, as deadly as blood, and as raged and in a fury as it could ever be. He was standing still, frozen like a statue. The seconds that passed by now, were almost to much for him to bear as he was like a coiled up viper, waiting..and waiting...waiting to strike. All the emotions that were pinned up inside of him, burst out like a volcano, and his blue eye was no longer in sight.
He lashed out, the sound coming from his throat sounding nothing like anything that ever exits a wolf's mouth, and his claws flew across the rock, ripping so hard across the boulder that it looked like sparks were to fly. He threw himself to the ground, his head feeling as though it was to explode, like someone was stabbing him. He writhed upon the ground, lashing out at everything that surrounded him. He didn't know what his teeth sunk into, but he ripped apart anything he could get ahold of. Sand was flying everywhere for the fault of his flailing body, and he just wished for all the pain to stop. He wanted to rip it out of himself, and soon, his claws had left bloody slashes across his head, and because of that, he snapped at his own limbs.
Then, he was laying there, his energy expended, limp and scarcely breathing. Waves washed over his dark pelt, and battered body, threatening to pull him into the sea. The cooling water brought some relief, but there was only one thing that could heal his broken heart. And that thing is....
....love.
[[...and sorry it's a novel..]]

Shanda leaned againt Devi as they slowly made their way towards the rocks. Devi said not a word to her as she questioned him, and she was very much worried. Yes, she'd only just met him, but she was kind at heart and couldn't stand to see anyone suffering...He was very unsteady as they neared the rocks, but she began to notice a change in him. A change in his aura...a darkness coming over him, as if he were battling some mental demon. A sudden familar scent filled her nostrils, a quick movement of light gray flashed from behind the rocks...
Oh, what, you mean THESE rocks, my Lady Shanda?
Shanda's worried gaze flew to the figure standing proudly atop the largest boulder...Tarot! Before she could smile, respond, or do anything for that matter, a flash of red caught her attention-and she found herself staring into the bloodred, rage filled second of Devi's eyes, a look upon his face that chilled her to the core. And then he went mad, flailing out with his claws, attacking unseen demons. Shanda lurched away from his frantic battle just in time before his strong claws would have dug deep into her side. She sprung away sideways, hitting the sand on the other side of the rocks in an awkward position, and tumbled into the sand, scattering it everywhere. The wind was knocked from her startled body.
An unearthly sound roared out of Devi, surly startling every creature around-it terrified her, enough for her to suck in a gasping breath as she struggled to come to her feet. The dark wolf was completely mad, striking out at everything within reach. He didn't even see his own brother, or hear him....Tarot...
Shanda threw a terrified glance to where the smaller wolf had been upon the rocks.
"Tarot! Tarot, what is wrong with your brother!" She cried out, as Devi had done his damage to the rocks and had bolted to the sea's edge. "Tarot!" She yelled, glancing quickly back to him, and then limped at a safe distance after Devi. By the time she got to the sea's edge, Devi had spent his energy and lay broken and beaten on the wet sand, half his body in the water. He was cut and bleeding from self inflicted injuries, and he appeared dazed, barely breathing, oblivious to the world....Shanda stepped her front paws into the sea's edge, the gental waves rolling over them, but stayed a safe distance from the broken wolf. She threw a worried glance to Tarot.
"Tarot, what's the matter with him? Can you help him? Do your powers help with things like this? We must help him!" She cried out. She was terrified, terrified for Devi, terrified for Tarot, terrified for herself....Never before had she witnessed such a thing....under normal circumstances, she'd fled in terror....but she couldn't leave anyone hurting and in pain, especially anyone she knew, even if it were but a few hours....

*Proud, tiny body turned from a tall proud stance, to barely hanging on to the rock. Mix matched eyes pealed as his brother, now opening his other eye, lunged at the rock. Tarot jumped back, but stayed on his perch. He knew his brother was large and bulky, and wasn’t sure if he could climb his base if he wanted to. His coat and eyes shone from the sparks that rose from his claws. Such a change this was! At first, the monotone wolf thought the reaction would be violent, hateful. Hence his hiding. But after watching him ‘play’ with Shanda, he thought he saw a gentle side. A sad and welcoming side. Boy was he wrong! He watched as his brother went berserk, tearing at not only the sand and surrounding, but himself. A poof of sand to his side broke his attention, Shanda had fell into the scene. The way she fell, it wasn’t right. Tarot jumped down from the rock to see. He prayed to his lucky star that his brother didn’t attack her. But once on the ground, he saw she was alright physically, but just as shaken as he was mentally.*
*Now she did what he hoped wouldn’t happen. Ask for help. Tarot had no idea what was going on, nor did he know how to help. His ears drooped helplessly. The little brother couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag, let alone take on the monstrous fury of his brother. But before he knew it, Shanda had ran off. He shook his head, waking himself up. Devi was no longer here…but collapsed by the ocean. With a flurry of sand, he took off to the shore*
*The sight made his heart sink. There he was. Devi. The brother he had left for greater things, torn and beaten in the water. Shanda, his only ‘friend’, now stand above him, begging him to help, imploring his powers. Well, he had no powers for his, but he had his wits. Tiny feet pranced into the water, and with all his might, he grabbed his brothers ruff and tried to pull him out of the ocean. Eyes widened in surprise as he started tugging. Lord above! He was heavy! But the adrenalin hit, and he pulled the body out. Sogging wet and panting, Tarot faced the hybrid*
Lady, I don’t know what happened. I assume my brother is less than pleased to see me…

The water's crystalline waves were cool, and spread a wavering calm through him. Almost, those clear waters threatened to flood his nostrils, and that would cause him to sputter, cough, and gag. The male might have gotten up himself, but not for the surprise that came later. Something was tugging at him, but he was so far gone from his body, that he couldn't tell what. He thought for a moment it could be Shanda....but no, she didn't pull like that. There was only one wolf....
He no longer felt the cool water flowing across him. Instead, the sweet feeling had been replaced by the gritty sand his body now lay on, and with his wet fur, it clung and matted. His single, blue eye opened, almost as slow as if he had been sleeping, and had just woken up. He blinked a few times, closed it, then opened it again. But, what he saw when he fully opened his eye was not something he had ever expected to see.
Tarot....
The sight took a moment to process, so unbelievable was it. His brother was here, standing in front of him now, but when it sank in, it sank in deep. He snapped up from the sand, and the grains and grit flew everywhere. His eye was wide in surprise, his ears were pulled back, and his tail held horizontally to the earth. His voice was almost a hushed whisper, and full of something like surprise, suspicion, and awe. "Tarot.....", but that changed quick, "WWHHHEEE!!!
But, in seconds that was gone, and he was anew. Bounding up, he practically pounced on his younger brother, covering Tarot in licks, and smothering his with slobber. Bouncing off Tarot, he now ran to Shanda, whom he tried inevitably to hug, and even lick again, as he didn't the last time. His tail was wagging back and forth like a helicopter blade, and his whole body produced energy.
Talk about quick personality changes.....

Shanda watched Tarot with worried eyes. She just didn't know what to do or think. Her right hind leg throbbed at the ankle, and she shifted her weight onto the other three legs. She stood in the water, staying several feet from Devi as Tarot approached. The smaller wolf seemed heartbroken over the sad sight of his larger brother broken laying as if dead in the water. The look in his mismatched eyes told her there was nothing he could do. But then, Tarot stepped into the water, and grabbed the larger Devi by the ruff, and began to tug on him, trying to pull the water drenched limp wolf from the sea. Shanda took a few steps back, moving out of the way and back onto dry sand. When he'd finally manged to get Devi out of the water, he seemed exhausted.
Lady, I don’t know what happened. I assume my brother is less than pleased to see me…
Tarot's voice didn't have the same confidence that she had known him to have. And she began to put the pieces together...She remembered a look he'd shown right before he'd told her of his 'powers', like an unpleasant memory from the past...
"You two were not close, were you," she stated simply, looking back at Devi...there was movement in his eyelids...an eye cracked open...she perked her ears, words escaping her...his eye opened fully taking in the sight of his brother before blinking in almost disbelief.
Suddenly, the soggy dark wolf sprung from the sand with renewed energy, taking an almost defensive stance, and the way Tarot's name was spoken...Shanda stumbled backward a few steps, the sudden change leaving her speechless and terrified. Surly she was not about to see the one wolf with whom she'd ever felt comfortable around be shredded by his own brother...then came the biggest surprise of all...
Devi suddenly transformed into a squiggling, slobbering mass of wet fur, pouncing Tarot and smothering him with slobbery licks...Shanda's own ears wilted down in pure confusion...what the hell....? Before she could finish the thought, Devi had turned to her, his foreleg coming around her shoulders, his big slobbery tongue hitting her up side the face. She stumbled backward again, a look of pure shock and horror upon her maw as her jaw dropped. The pain in her leg was temporarily forgotten as out of nowhere a rage sprung up in her that she'd never felt in her life. Her ears tilted back and her eyes narrowed as she shot a glance at the much larger wolf standing before her with excited tail wagging.
She lunged out at him pouncing him in her own way, pinning him to the ground. She stood over him, her breath seething out from clenched jaws, not inches from his face....
"Are you completely MAD!" She finally snapped. "You almost took my head off back there!" her voice rose to an almost scream, her body trembling in anger. "You scared me to death, and now...you think you can just go instantly happy on us?" She'd never felt this way before, and never would she have ever had to courage to put a larger male wolf on the ground. Her senses began to return, a sharp pain hitting her sprained foot. A yelp and whine of pain escaped her maw, and she scrambled to get off of him, staggering a few paces back before sitting on the cool sand, a scowl upon her face. She sat there glaring back and forth between the two brothers as the trembling in her own body calmed....what a night this had turned out to be....her mind refused to function...what had just happened...did she just pounce Devi? Tarot....
Her own head began to hurt....
[wow-i'm so loving this thread....and no-shanda's not gonna go postal....hehe...Devi wasn't expecting that now was he....]

For a moment it was all happiness, then confusion. Her face startled and horrified, and her jaw wide open, gaping at him. That was, until she pulled her ears back and glared at him. He made to tilt his head, to look at her with that strange look of his again, but what came next even caused him fear.
His entire body was jolted when she sprung at him, a shock of adrenaline surging through his system. Her mitts struck his hard, and the next thing he knew, he was on the sand...the gritty, gritty sand. The male looked back up at her now, and her face, with her bared teeth so few inches from his face....never had he felt so great a fear than when he saw that.
His eyes were wide, and both of them had shot open. You could tell the terror, and the fact his pupils had shrunk so small, that they were consumed by the colors of his orbs. His tail rested between his legs, were it had gone the moment she pounced him, and sent him into shock. But, it was not his injuries, or the sight of her that truly hurt him. It was her words.
Tears flooded his eyes as she screamed out her rage at him, anger writhing through her whole form. Only to have the situation change moments later, when she yelped in pain and made to get off him. For a second, Divinations worried for her, knowing well that it was him that had caused her this pain, that he had hurt someone....
Shanda wouldn't have had time to look back at him after she got up, for he was gone. His great body was using the last bits of energy it had to leave, sprinting across the beach, reaching the shadows and disappearing into them. It was going to take time for him to recover, and possibly, even more so for Shanda. Truly he like her, but now, he couldn't go near her, for both the fear he might hurt her again, and the fear she might take out her anger on him for another time. But, he would stay within the shadows, where he could see them, but they could not see him, his pelt blending in, camouflaging. He might be hurt for the moment....
....but he loved them so and would not leave them.

*Tarot hated seeing this. The despair in Shanda’s eyes, the limp body of his brother. No doubt, his twin was fine. But it was so strange, so unsettling to see him like this. At ‘home’ he was always the strong one, always the survivor. Tarot was tiny, jumpy, and more used to using his mind. But there, what he had always seen as the very symbol of strength and set of mind, lay wet in the sand. There was nothing he could do, really, and Tarot was not used to feeling helpless. His grey head slowly turned to Shanda*
No, my lady. My brother and I have always… *But the stirring of his brother’s body brought his ears forward, the tiniest whine escaping him. The large, black form that once attacked him rose now, and looked at him straight in the eye. Tarot wouldn’t run, at least, not in front of Shanda, but he was terrified. Had a true fight come, the little male would have been a grease smear on the sand. Tarot flinched slightly as Devi spoke his name, but what happened next completely took him off guard.*
AHH!
*The twin attempted to duck as the squealing, slurping mass of Divinations launched himself at him. The pressure of his brother’s weight suffocated him slightly, so no noise could escape. What on this unholy world was going on? The black fury had turned once again into the lovable puppy he had seen attempting to play with his lady. Tarot was sure he preferred the anger, for he knew it was justified and well harbored. The joy was terribly unsettling.*
*Tarot could breathe now, and that was because Devi was now loving on Shanda. But the love was short lived. Tarot’s jaw hit the shore at what happened next. Shanda had always been mild mannered, and though she always held the façade of confidence, there was always a timid soul within her. But the hybrid now…launched herself? Tarot had to blink to make sure he was truly seeing this. The silky haired Shanda was chewing on his brother like a starving dog to a bone. It was not unprovoked, Tarot himself was confused, and a little angry at his brothers behavior. Shanda’s fury was short lived as well, for with a yelp and a limp, she got of Devi. Tarot pranced to her side, making sure that his brother didn’t just hurt her again. But just as he reached her body, a black flying shadow ran past. Tarot’s ear went perfectly erect again, but eyes were filled with the most dire confusion. On a notion, he leaned down and nipped his leg hard. With a yelp, he turned with a weary smile to the wolf dog*
So, we’re not dreaming, are we?

Shanda's angry glaring did not last long, as she watched Tarot trot over to her side, worry on his face, along with a huge helping of shock and surprise. And before he could even reach her side, the now terrified and teary-eyed Devi had lept to his feet and was streaking across the moonlit beach and disappeared into the treeline. Her eyes opened wide, her head throbbing, her mind still not able to comprehend what had just happened....Her head slowly turned to meet Tarot's gaze....
what had she just done...she'd just hurt another creature, and she didn't know if it had been physically or mentally, her own fear and anger raged in her head. Her mind began to play tricks on her....the look in Tarot's eyes...was he angry? No, now he looked sad, and then she couldn't tell, as her eyes flooded with tears. She took a few steps back as her mind began to break down and crumble....she'd always been tormented that she'd go crazy, that her grandfather so long ago had been insane, and others since her bloodline had been tainted had also been mentally unrealiable...those were the stories that they had thrown at her as one of their reasons for excluding her and her mother from everything...
As she backed away from Tarot, she saw him reach down and nip his own leg...was she seeing things? He appeared to be saying something, but her mind was gone at this point. Every small accomplishment she'd been able to make was now gone to her. She'd hurt Devi, ruined the brothers' reunion, and how could Tarot still befriend her after the way she'd acted...and who was to say she wouldn't go crazy again and hurt him...she couldn't bear the though. Tarot had been her first real 'friend'-ever-the only one who hadn't ridiculed her, chased her away, even if he had toyed with her, she had not minded and truly enjoyed his company...but now, she couldn't trust herself...
"Tarot...I'm sorry...."she stuttered as she continued to back away from him. "I ....have....lost....my...."great sobbs erupted from her maw, choking out the rest of her words. She had to get away. She knew her actions may hurt her friend, but it was better that his feelings be hurt rather than her going crazy and physically hurting him...
Her eyes were glazed over with tears, filled with hurt and fear, her heart breaking.
"Tarot, I'm so sorry," She said between sobs, and turned and ran as fast as her injured leg would take her, fleeing from the scene of her breakdown...distancing herself from those she thought so much of...for their own protection from me, she told herself as she hobbled along.....she didn't look back...couldn't bear to look back....
[ok...so this leads into our current thread...Shanda's had a mental breakdown....lol-poor Tarot and poor Devi....Paradigh, you can respond with Tarot if you want, but this was Shanda's last post in this thread]
