The cold wind blew past the slate colored male. His head was held low in exhaustion. His fur bristled with the movement of the wind. He breathed in a deep breath of the earth and trees around him. His icy blue eyes peered around his landscape. He was new here and had heard many things of the pack of these lands. A light smile came across his muzzle as he lifted his head and stood to the wind.
Neskaj was always notorious for being rude and having bad manners as well as having a tendancy of not liking others. His appearance told lies to all that approached him. His fur almost looked silky and his colorations were that of ice almost. His long black and white hair flowed gingerly across the right side of his skull.
The male then proceeded to call out to anyone near by. He was seeking acceptance into a pack where he wouldnt feel out of the social norm. Everywhere that he had previously gone to refused to accept him for his behaviors. He particullarily despised those who were not like himself. Although he was one third domestic canine, he thought of himself as a pure wolf. He hates how domestic dogs are weak and are nothing but lap dogs.He prided himself in being able to fend for himself and be victorious in several fights that he has had.
His ears swiveled several directions in wait of a reply to his call. His eyes narrowed and he bared his teeth in annoyance. He had heard that if one were to come to these lands they were to be executed if not to the alpha or pack member's liking. This thought came across his mind as he invisioned himself getting into a fight with another member if they were unhappy with him. He would prove to them that reguardless of his bloodline, he is pure wolf in spirit and heart.

The wind whispered through the dark leaves in the pale morning light. The sky was a sickly grey, and the thin clouds slithered slowly across the horizon. The world was waiting for winter, and the she-wolf that lay below the branches was ready to welcome it. This was her favourite time of the year - when the land was frozen and barren, and all save her would complain of the bitter weather. In Sallin, it always snowed. But for the moment, autumn still held its grip. But the temperature was dropping with every passing sun, and Nightshade knew it would not be long...
But she could not enjoy this day as much as she would have liked. For a call came loud and urgent in the crisp dawn air. She had duties to do. Rising to her paws, the she-wolf padded elegantly forward. It was surprising how, considering she was tall and well-muscled, that she was lithe and spirited in gait. Old ways died hardest, and Nightshade could never completely let go of what she had been...those long, hard years ago.
The source of the howl came from the boarders, which luckily was close to where the she-wolf was. The bay sounded wolf enough. She had had to deal with far too many curs in those past few days. Sallin was a land of purity...a land of wolves. Nightshade would not allow it to become overrun with scum. The boughs seemed to draw away to reveal a path for her; the roots that would usual snatch out to trip were staying still and lifeless. The forest knew better than to challenge its leader.
Finally, Nightshade saw a silhouette on the frost ahead. The mixtures of iron and ice in the male's coat caught her attention at once. It was unusual, but not unseen. Yes, this creature appeared wolf...he even smelled wolf...but something about him was off. What was it? Night had encountered a half-breed before, and had been quick in identifying her blood - but this male was harder to distinguish. It was almost as though most of him was pure, with just a fleck of something else.
But he looked strong in body, and something about him made Nightshade continue on regardless of breeding. It was not his pelt, or his striking features - it was more. What did this soft outside hide within? The she-wolf made sure that her paws were heard across the crunching earth, and her glittering emerald gaze remained permanently locked on this new intruder. Little in her body language portrayed the curiosity that she felt, and Nightshade simply walked forward with her common half-interest. When in truth, she was quite inquisitive towards this newcomer. He would not get leverage with her just through this, but perhaps...
"Who are you, and what purpose have you in Sallin?" Her brittle tone was icy in the cold morning, and a cloud of vapour rose from her chilled lips. She seemed almost perfect in the barren frost, her eyes revealing the youth that her chiselled body hung on to. She was still young, and for a moment, it seemed as though all that had happened in the darkness was washed away, and Nightshade was left standing in the cradle of the forest. She could never go back to the way she had been once before...too much had changed.

Neskaj's large ears swiveled to where he heard the alphess aproached him. His fur bristled in the wind again, its silkyness waved like wheat in a gentle breeze. His eyes narrowed to match Nightshade's. He sniffed the air breifly taking note that she was the alphess and that she was taking him in as he was doing to her. His icy eyes scanned over her mucular body, thinking to himself that she had earned her way to the top. He took a few steps to the alphess that stood infront of him with his head slightly lowered. His eyes were still fixated on hers. He was taking in her personality through her eyes, as he assumed that she was doing to him.
"I'm here to see how tough this clan really is, and see if they live up to their said standards."He replied to the female infront of him. A sly and coy smile crept across his muzzle as stopped infront of her and stood at eye level with her. He appeared wolf in form, the only dog trait that he seemed to posess was his pelt colorations and texture.

((Sorry for the late reply - been really swamped.))
Nightshade tilted her head slightly at the intruder's response. He wished to assess her pack? Since when did wolves who wished to enter Sallin have any confusion as to whether or not the pack lived up to its 'standards'? Anyone who had heard so much as its name knew what the land held. Taking a step closer to the male, the alpha narrowed her gaze. "It is customary here for clan to judge the wolf - not the other way around." Her cold voice hissed into the air, her ears lowering towards her skull.
But, perhaps this wolf could do something for the pack...maybe he could be useful? "What is your name?" It was unclear whether or not Nightshade actually expected an answer, for her tone was neither pleasant nor questioning in any way. It was as though she was simply stating something that should in her mind already have been taken care of. But of course she did expect an answer - and quickly. She was hardly going to indulge him by trying to explain that the pack was well and truly up to standards - he would be able to see that perfectly very soon.
((Sorry for the major shortness on my half! I have had a tough few days...sorry.))

((XP not a problem, ive been busy too ^_^ but alteast you responded!!-hug- thanks))
As Nightshade came closer Neskaj perked a brow and stood more firmly, showing off his lean but sturdily built form. He wasnt afraid of anyone really. Well then, start judging so that i may find out if i wanna hang around here or not. Cuz if you guys arent who you say you are, then im outta here His voice was calm yet slightly aggitated. He hated his questions being redirected. He let out a slight sigh of annoyance.
He watched her carefully as another chilly gust came upon them blowing his black and white fur over his eyes to and frow. "My name's Neskaj, i dont think you'll forget it." His voice was arrogant yet, not too offensive. He showed many qualities that would have gotten him banned from any other pack around the lands. And which he had been banned from many. Thats how he had heard of the Sallin pack and wanted to see if they held up to their reputation.

((Sorry for the really late reply - I've been utterly swamped!))
Yes, Nightshade knew his type. The arrogant yet calm male who had been shunned so many times that he no longer felt the pain of it. She had come across many in her time...enough to know how to deal with them. She tilted her head, allowing the wind to lift the strands of fur that had fallen across her eyes out of the way. "And what have you heard of Sallin, then? She knew that there was very little doubt her further questions would annoy him further, but it was her job to test how close he was to breaking...how close he was to snapping. She turned away, leaving the square-off with confidence. The alpha had learned over time how to protect herself - the hard way. She feared no threat from this wolf, or from any other that she had encountered.
"I'm sure I won't..." she whispered in response to his next statement, the wind tilting the fur back across her eyes and carrying her voice towards Neskaj. Something about him made her think of Kaine, but the unbridled power was not there. Her mind drifted with the gust to her mate...strange...it had been so long since she had called him that. He was an alpha, and the second-half of dominance in Sallin...but she loved him as much as one who has lost their mind can love something without seeing a need to destroy it. Nightshade closed her eyes, and for a moment remembered what it had felt like when they had first met.
"But what do you seek in Sallin?" She did not turn back, but she straightened up and lifted her head to the wind, the air casting across her proud and well-carved face. She was an image of beauty, despite everything she had been through in her life. Time had not changed that. "What do you wish to find here if all that you believe is true?"

He sat himself down and perked a brow." i hear that you desire to claim more lands, become supreme ruler of all. Or so ive heard. I also hear that you are strict on your members and demand abosule authoritative qualities. I figued since i enjoy all of those and live by rules as such i could become part of the pack." He watched her reactions closely, narrowing his eyes to take in more of her aura in a sense.
He then stood back up his long black and white strands of fur that hung in his face, did as hers did, only with longer fur. His look was stern but yet interrested in what the alphess had to say or was going to do next. He stood with confidence and was ready for an attack if that was going to be her next plan of action. He had dismissed almost every memory he had ever had and lived in the day to day lifestyle.
"i seek acceptance to a place where i could feel one with others like me, where i could be put to use for something besides a trash can for the earth." He started to move towards the lucious female that held such a high title in the pack of Sallin. " i want to serve you" A smile lolled its way across his maw as he came up to her side and lowered his head just below hers and lightly snickered.

Neskaj's words almost interested Nightshade, as she studied the creature that stood before her, his words mixed with truth and something else...not deception, but a hint of some inner desire. She had heard it before, and it caught her attention. So this is what outsiders hear of Sallin... she thought to herself. Interesting indeed. The dark alphess studied him even closer as he moved in towards her, his eyes struck with a glint as he lowered his head in her direction. This one seemed promising already.
Casting her head half to one side so that she could see him through the corner of her forest eyes, Nightshade watched as Neskaj ended his statement. He wishes to serve me... she thought with calculating silence. What was playing behind that gaze was anyone's guess; the she-wolf knew precisely how to hide her emotions. Years of cold, bitter heartache had left her barren and broken - an unbreakable shell so tough that no one could get in even if she had wanted them to.
'Well then, it seems that we have an understanding.' Nightshade lowered her own gaze down to meet his, hoping to draw his eyes from the earth at her paws. 'Sallin does indeed seek members of your...talents.' The last word of this was also tainted; the venomous touch enough to melt the frost around them. The she-wolf's nose was close to his now, her breath mingling with his. Between the thin grey lips, her teeth shimmered for a second in the sun of the harsh winter morning, the green in her eyes blazing as though a fire had been lit from within...a fire of purely instinctual feelings. Hate, Love, War...Blood.
Then it vanished as quickly as it had come. Nightshade’s head snapped up, and she turned away from the blue-grey Neskaj without so much as a second glance. If he could see her face then, he would have witnessed the smirk enveloping her face. Yes, he would do nicely. In a few short days she would have decided his fate. 'You're accepted.' Her icy voice bit hard into the air, silencing the sounds of the world for just one moment. 'Welcome to the pack.' Again the poison rang.
((Sorry for the long long wait! I'll pick a position for ya later and PM you to see if you're okay with it.))

(( XP oh dont worry about it, ive got time on my hands))
Neskaj kept his head low as he let the alphess think, yet his eyes were watching her expressions. He knew she was hiding what she was thinking, but he too knew the way to do such. Years of decieving people gave him that ability. He had always found himself to be wicked in the worst way, silently. He did not like to fight as much as he did playing mind games on others. He found blood to be interesting and awfully tasty but making another before him go mad and kill themselves was more rewarding to him. That's just the way Neskaj was.
well then, it seems that we have an understanding. those words that came from the alphess's lips demanded a small smirk upon his maw. As she lowered her head to match his he perked a brow. Never before had he seen or heard of an alpha of any pack do such a thing to a newcommer to their lands. It startled him for just a moment, but also intrigued him. Nightshade was a new breed of Alpha's, and he liked that.
sallin does indeed seek members of your...talents To Neskaj those words were told to him by an angel, in a demonic sense of course. A wide grin came across his face and his eyes glimmered with joy. " i would be more than happy to give you my talents for your reign over these and lands soon to come." He replied with a coy smile and a sophisicated voice. He was loving Nightshade with each word she spoke, not in a sense that he wanted to be her mate, more along the lines that he wanted to make her proud of him. Become something like her right hand man. In a sense, her PET.
With Nightshade suddenly pulling away Neskaj took this as he should as well. He took a proud stance behind her with a wide toothly grin on his slate colored muzzle. "I will not let you nor Sallin down," he paused then bowed as if she were true royalty. "Mistress Nightshade" he finished his sentance before, it almost seemed as though he were a joker in her kindom. He sensed that not many could make this tough female smile; and he had done so in one meeting. He knew he had a promising life here with Nightshade and the blood-thirsty pack of Sallin.
