((Finally I make a post with Fellen! O.O))
Running, a mad dash, paws lightly touching the cold earth before arching skyward again. The shadows like black curtains wrapping around the trees and the grass, consuming them. A cold feeling of fear lurking through that laid veil of shadows, biting and nipping at any soul caught within it’s web. The wind whistled through the trees, singing it’s lonesome chorus, and the moon hung like a lantern in the clear night sky. It was through this madness, this play of darkness and shadows, that the princess of Sallin dashed.
Her eyes were keen, alert, roving, her nose was held high, catching every scent that came its way, her ears were pinned to the back of her head as she ran along. She was a streak of gold upon a black landscape, a blast of light upon a nightly world. Fellen, was enjoying herself.
It was these midnight runs that let her let go. She could let go of the stress and the madness of everyday life, she could forget the talk of torture and bloodshed, she could push the images of war to the back of her mind. She could love her parents for what they were, and her brother as well, without thinking about the things they had done. She could smile without wondering why she did it alone, and she could laugh without feeling the sting of a lie. This, was when she was free.
Finally, the little wolf came to an abrupt halt, glancing up at the bright moon. She felt a huge weight lift from her shoulders as her eyes twinkled in the moonlight. Oh what a glorious night. Though the shadows were vile and the darkness cold, she could still manage her smile. It made this wolf wonder if anyone else did things like this, for to her, it was excellent medicine. It would be worthwhile for her mother to come out and just prowl among the trees sometime, think a little, yes, surely Nightshade would like that. Or was she too busy plotting the downfall of her past mate? That was a discouraging thought.
Fellen shook her head and padding along once again, keeping as alert as possible. Some used the shadows for cover, best to keep on guard…

Sneaking through the shadows, skulking like the predator he was, well that was something Rat relished, and tonight was no different than any other, as a messenger without any tasks only patrolled like wolf in a cage, pacing anxiously, waiting for something to happen. He had lived another year, against all odds...he was a surviver. The old wolf smiled slickly, making a small bark as he noticed Sallin's princess.
They had met once or twice before, a pity, she was like a lovely little snow flower against a desolate and cruel tundra. Rat would have almost felt some ounce of kinship if she hadn't been as pretty and successful.
But tonight wasn't for niceties with pleasant females who were so green they reeked of naivety. Rat was prowling tonight with purpose, he was given the wolf-dog to train, much to Nightshade's disgust Scratch survived through his first year as well as Rat survived to his fourth. A bit wiser but he too was green...but it couldn't be helped, Scratch was only an adolescent gangly, and still on occasion puplike.
Which made Rat scowl as he pulled himself out of the underbrush, giving Fellen a curt nod. "I apologize for disturbing you m'lady, but I dare say, have you see a youngish hybrid around these parts? Charcoal and brown colored? I seem to have misplaced the lad, and would not forgive myself if something were to happen to him." He gave Fellen his kindest and most polite smile, though horrid thanks to his appearance. He was at least courteous.

WHOO DOGGY, IT'S COLD!!!
*Chocolate paws skipped over the frosted gras of a cool spring night. The weather that tricked the wolfdog, spring was supposed to be warm and sunny. But not tonight! No no no. Puffs of crystilized breathe puffed out of his mouth as it hung open. The messenger in training was not running for the joy of it. He seemed to have misplaced his 'knight'*
*This last fall, after a little excursion out on his own, the young Scratch got his tail saved by the scarred ball of wretchedness...in more than one way. The over adventerous pup leaned the hard way porcupines don't like to romp. Rat not only pulled the needles out, but pulled the pup under his scarred and bulbous wing. If it hadn't been for the unlikely pairing, the cursed wolfdog would have never made it through the winter. It really wouldn't have been any skin of anyone's nose (except for Rat, heliked to believe) if he DID become a Pupcicle this last winter. Especialy Nighshade. The ever sneering alphaess had never like the itchy pup, and he sooned learned it was because of his blood. This didn't seem really fair to Scratch, but the thought of the look on her face at the news he lived...well...that couldn't help but put a smile on his face.*
*There was no smiling now. He had lost track of his trainer. Scratch remembered telling Rat to wait up while he got a drink out of the creek, but by the time he filled is belly, got a good scratch, and turned around...he was gone! That was most rude...yet most Rat. Off color eyes swept the trees ahead and nose wiggled, trying to pick up any trace of his one and only 'friend'. Rat was nothing pretty to look at, but ever since they're first encounter, the gangly hybred had wanted to be just like him. Dispite his obviously difficulties in the world of Sallin, he made it through just fine. Many times, Scratch felt as though Rat was actualy PLAYING the other members of the pack...*
*Finally, through a break in the trees, Scratch spotted the mass of pink and tawny that was his tutor.*
HA!
*The yearling sprinted down the hill. He had Rat in his sights, and didn't want to loose him again. The fact he was with another wolf only barely registered. As he decended the frosty hill, puffing all the while, he called out to his elusive rodent*
Now! Where did you go so quick?!? I'd thought I'd lost you for good! Glad I...
*Sentence stopped and eyes bulged as he took in Rat's compantion...the princess! Scratch barely reconized her, the boy had only seen her a few times. Never had he had the chance to really get to know her..he WAS a wolfdog after all. Tripping over his tounge, and stepping stiffly back, the yearling could barely get a word out*
Eh...Um...Eh..er..Y..Your Highness!
*Less than gracefully, Scratch threw himself into an awkward bow. Oh, he wanted to hold it, he really wanted to..but...he was nervous...and he was nervous, Scratch...well...scratched. Back up on his haunches, his back paw went wild on his neck as he gave a solefull glance to Rat that could only be inturpritated as 'Help Me".*

((Sorry for the wait DDD8))
Fellen nearly jumped when she spotted a creature prowling from the underbrush. However, she quickly remembered to keep herself clam. She wasn’t a puppy anymore, she couldn’t afford to look like one.
She relaxed a little more when she recognized the scraggly, scruffy wolf that was approaching her. Trying to remember his name, she stared up at the sky until it finally came to her. That was her usual bad ability with names shining through; one of those things she’d need to overcome if she ever expected to aid in the leadership of this pack.
“Oh, hello Rat,” the greeting was cheery.
"I apologize for disturbing you m'lady, but I dare say, have you see a youngish hybrid around these parts? Charcoal and brown colored? I seem to have misplaced the lad, and would not forgive myself if something were to happen to him."
“Oh,” Fellen listened intently to the question, “I’m sorry but I have seen no other canine but you and myself tonight, would you like me to help you look for him?”
As usual she was trying to be helpful.
Suddenly, Fellen turned her head as she heard the sound of paws clambering their way toward them. An instant later she spotted a flash of brown and gray, dashing through the trees. She noticed how excited and careless he was, and knew it must be because he recognized Rat. However, his mood changed instantly when he spotted her.
Eh...Um...Eh..er..Y..Your Highness!”
Fellen just stared as the creature came to a quick stop before her and lowered himself in a quick bow. The sight of him, suddenly so nervous, made her feel sorrowful for her position, she disliked being treated like she was so high and mighty compared to these two. Then, the young pup did something she never would have expected. The spell of respect was broken as he began to scratch wildly with his back paw, as if someone had dumped a bucket of fleas on his back.
Before she could catch herself, Fellen giggled. However, not a mocking laugh at all, just a quick chuckle in good humor. The sight of the yearling, trying so hard to impress brought a wide smile to her face. Sighing, she shook her head once, and looked him in the eye.
“Good day to you,” another kindly greeting, “ You seem to be the missing canine Rat was telling me of. I’d advise you not to stray from your master, Sallin holds many shadows. I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced, some call me Princess, but I prefer just Fellen.”

The sound of the breaking shrubbery just made the older male wince, and roll his eyes, ah, yes there he was, his little Squire, Scratch, not so little anymore, but still...young at heart.
Rat smiled, as Scratch caught his own faux pas, and offered the Princess an awkward, but well intentioned bow. He was rough around the edges, but the hybrid was learning, and he'd smooth out as he aged closer to adulthood. And the scratching thing, that was a nervous condition, an ailment of the mind, perhaps...he'd grow out of that as well.
"Ah, yes. Its good that you made an appearance. I was just about to ask Lady Fellen if she would be kind enough to come with me to find you." He smiled and then nudged Scratch with a paw, hoping to break him from his itching spell. If the Princess Fellen wanted Scratch to treat her like an equal, then he would, so long as Nightshade was not in ear shot."M'Lady, this is my young trainee, Scratch. You must forgive him, he's a little shy."
Another lie, but the yearling must have understood by now, sometimes a lie was good for making excuses for poor behavior.

((OOC MY GOD I AM SORRY FOR BEING LATE! *gets punt kicked))
*A goofy insecure smile spread across Scratch's face as the princess laughed and spoke. Never in his short life had he been adressed so causualy, even by Rat let alone pack royalty! Boy, either this chick had a broken nose...or she realy was nice! Now THAT was even crazier than a broken nose! The unmistakable voice of his mentor made the young one turn his head, and he listened carefully...*
Ouf!
*It wasn't until he was gently jabbed did Scratch even remember he was scratching! Imediatly, his paw fell from his neck, and he stood as straight as he could. He HATED this scratching nonsense! He didn't even know why he did it anymore! Perhaps he would talk to Rat about that later..but it took all of the yearling's self control not to laugh to himself. Rat, dispite his harsh exterior, had always seemed perfect to the pup. He was never sad, angry, or had any strange habbits. Rat: The demented saint of...well...what ever he wanted to be, Scratch thought. Little did his squire know that is Rat ever heard wind of the little one's esteem for him, he would most likely laugh in his face...*
*Upon hearing the newsflash he was shy, Scratch decided it would be wise to play along. Rat had taught him a lot of things. The main one: A little white lie never hurt anyone, especialy if it saved one's hide. So, from his tall faux soldier stance, he causualy shrunk his shoulders a bit, and shuffled a paw. Thankfuly, this wasn't a lie that took much acting. Fellen, or any other canine other than Rat, tended to intimidate him. Nightshade would be proud of that...*
Yes. Sorry Prin...I mean...F-Fellen? And, I won't loose him again, promise..
