Her jaws clamped upon something that made a soft crunch, and with a startled expression, Nakomi spit out a shining beetle. It squirmed on the ground, and with a disgusted face, the hybrid trotted a few steps away, tongue hanging out, the taste lingering in her mouth. She had been running through this strange new forest when she had seen something blue hovering through the air; her excitement had grown, thinking it a butterfly, yet when it was too late, she discovered her error. She snarled, pawing at her face. ...Probably a stinkbug... Nasty things... she thought, sniffing for water. Quickly she hung her tail between her legs, smelling others nearby; hopefully there wouldn't be a fiasco like the other packs had made...

"Nasty things, aren't they?"
Shaking her furry head in amusement, Kahvie allowed herself to be seen by the young hybrid. She'd been following the female for some time now, just far behind enough to make sure the other could not catch her scent. Normally, the alpha would have approached a newcomer, especially one with wolf attributes, as soon as she caught sight of them. But something about this pup seemed innocent, as well as amusing.
However, Kahvie had duties to protect the pack, and as harmless as the other female might appear, she needed to interrogate her sooner or later.
"And just who might you be, kid?"

Unconsciously, she nodded at the first question, but after looking at the other for a moment, she lowered her head a bit and perked her ears up. She tilted her head to the side in question, yet she smiled; at least the vibe she was getting meant that she wasn't going to attack... "N-Nakomi, miss..." She hadn't spoken in a while, only barks and the occassional howl to the moon, so her voice was a bit raspy. "...Would you happen to know whose land this is?"

As the female nodded at her first statement, Kahvie gave a hint of a smile. She knew her bugs well...and she had certainly stayed clear of stinkbugs since she had a nasty encounter with one as a puppy. Even so, there was no better way to learn than experience.
Snapping back to reality, the mutt tilted her head slightly at the next question.
"You are on Synl grounds. I'm guessing you have not heard of us?"

"Synl..." she repeated, thinking if her mother or father had ever mentioned such a place. She looked around, briefly examining the scenery, and thought hard for a moment. Then, with a chirpy voice, she replied, "Nope, never." The hybrid smiled; she seemed to rather like this stranger, though she knew not who she was. Her expression turned to that of confusion, and she tilted her head again, in a puppy-like manner. "...What's your name?" she asked, totally off-subject.

Rinoa had been walking for several days now and his legs were starting to go numb from the chill of the air and the exaustion from walking so much. The cold wind blew through his brindle coat and made him shiver. He held his head low and his tail limp. He had not been able to catch anything to eat for some time and those simple tasks took too much energy.
His ears perked and he raised his head. He heard voices, but never really took it in that there might be others. He simply wanted to lay down and rest for a while. He sniffed around and found a shallowed out tree, needless to say it was a rather large tree and was dead, so obviously there was a hole from a previous user. The scent of the other user was increadibly faint and the smell of slowly rotting wood overpowered it.
He squeezed his way into the rather small area for him. He circled and layed down. He let out a long and exaspirating sigh as he gently put his head down on his huge paws. His massive size usually intimidated others and forced them away from him. His ears went limp as he thought of all the 'Possible' friends he could have had if they weren't so skittish around larger canines.
He took another deep breath and cought the scent of two female canines. This caused an ear of his to perk and a raising of one eyebrow. He just layed down so he had no energy to follow the scent and greet them. Instead he let out as loud of a howl as possible. THis howl was not to be taken offensivly, but just to show he was there and that he felt alone.
((OOC: >.< oh my gosh! really crapy post ...>.>; sorry))

(OOC: I'm not sure if Rinoa is still here, so I'll just reply to Nakomi for now)
"Well, since you have never heard of us, I suppose I should tell you about the place, no?" Shifting into a comfortable position, the mutt continued without much pause, "We are a small group of dogs, in hiding from a power known as Sallin, rebels if you will. We are a bit of a peaceful group, so you wouldn't have to worry about fighting anyone here.
Oh, and my name? Kahvie. I'm the alpha here."
