(OOC: This thread is for Kross so that Kahvie may instruct her on trying out for a beta position, and shouldn't go for too long. So, it's a bit private;)).
As the light of the full moon above shone down on the clearing, Kahvie paced restlessly. After Kross had voiced her wish to become Synl's alpha, the dog had been nervous. Synl had always had simply two alphas, Beaver and herself. True, they had never really needed much help with leadership, being a small group, but they were growing. And besides...you never knew when something might happen.
Throwing her head back, the mutt let out a short howl. If Kross was anywhere in the area, she would undoubtedly pick up the call.

Crimson eyes shown slightly through the night and and black ears picked up on the alphess's call. Throwing back her Ivory head Kross let out a powerful howl, signaling to the alphess she was on her way. The black and white fae raced towards Kahvie, coming to a stop in front of her. She immediately dropped her stance to one subbordinate of Kahvie.
"Greetings Alphess, I heard your call, and I have answered."

At the arrival of the larger canine, Kahvie bowed in respect, then righted and cocked her head, taking in the sounds around her. Hearing no other creatures in the vicinity, the mutt turned to Kross once more, her tone serious.
"You expressed interest in becoming an alpha here at Synl...to be honest, we have never done such a test for any rank. So, this can, and will be dangerous. If you decide to pull out at any time, you may, and no one will think less of you for it.
As you know, Sallin is this pack's enemy. They are predators and dangerous beings, and a leader of Synl must know how to deal with them. This test is designed to prove such a thing. We ask that you make the journey to Sallin's lands and steal something from them without detection. If you can pull it off, you may have the rank you seek."

Kross was used to being in territory where she was an unknown, and despite her white fur she knew how to sneak along. This mission did not frighten her in the least.

Kahvie smiled lightly...Kross was a brave sort, and the mutt was honored to have one such as her on Synl's side.
"Nightshade is a very territorial individual...her minions bring in beautiful things that they have stolen from the villages, and give them to her in order to keep on her 'good side.' She is said to hide these things in a deserted den on Sallin's border west of this spot. All you need to bring back is one item, elaborate or not. It is not heavily guarded, but it is still dangerous...keep your guard up."
(OOC: I'll let Night's player know about the test, so you may create a thread in Sallin as soon as you are ready.)
