The nightly air was cool and crisp, obviously chilly to the touch due to winter flying through the woods. It was no surprise at all seeing snow; beautiful, sparkling snow. If the moon hit it just right with its silvery rays, you could just see a small little patch of whiteness, alongside with twinkles that looks like the stars were embedded into it. And, due to this much freezing snow and ice, no wonder a tannish Timber wolf dug his way through a mound of snow, poking his charcoal nose out and escaping the pile at last. He fell asleep not too long ago, traveling for a few days, searching for a small amount of time to even get a little shut-eye. As he yawned, Leland showed off his sharp and powerful teeth, and afterwards, a shake of his fur and a stretching of his legs made him feel as strong and awake as ever. His dark brown eyes glanced back and forth, and when he was content that he was, indeed, alone, Leland set off even further, his legs and paws not tiring after the many walks in the deep snow.
There it was.
A scent made its way into his nose, and the male couldn’t help but pick up the pace, now certain that he had reached his destination—Sallin. Oh, the powerful and ferocious stories he had heard of this noble pack, of Nightshade’s downfall and of that new Synl Alpha—Kahvie, was it?—and much, much more, from old storytellers to just overly-excited and young travelers. But now, he was infront of the real thing, and this pretty much accounted as ‘Judgment Day’ to the four-year-old. Should he call out and let the Sentries of Sallin come to him? Or should he wait, hoping for one of the Sallin members to notice him? Deciding that the latter was a bit stupid, he went with his first choice, raising his maw upwards, and letting out a powerful cry. It wasn’t elegant, it wasn’t beautiful, it wasn’t melodic—then again, Leland never much cared about beauty. Living as a loner for two dreadful years; yep, you try doing that, and see if your voice comes out gorgeous when you finally talk to thin air. His paws made their way slowly and carefully to the borders, hoping that he didn’t seem too intimidating or too much like an enemy. True, his body seemed a bit bulky, but he just hoped these Sallin wolves didn’t rely too much on appearances.
And now, he would wait, his ears ready for the sound of anything.
ooc: Hhmm, I usually type longer posts than this, but it seems my creative juice just got sucked out! Annnd, not much of an awesome title, lol.

Fellen trudged through the forest, ger usual smile on her face. If she wasn't the alpha's daughter, somebody definately would have wanted to rip that grin right off her face, but she was Nightshade's daughter after all. And she could bite back, so most thought it best to just let her be. Sometimes she felt that she didn't belong here, in this pack of cruelty and hatred, but it wasn't as if she had any other options. Besides, she loved her family too much to leave, they may be hard on her some times, but her adoration of them was something words could not describe. Fellen belonged here, that was all there was to it.
She was patrolling the borders, sniffing about to see if there was any prey out, winter was well on its way and she knew how helpful food could be to the pack, however, so far the land seemed as empty as always. If only they had more prey, she sighed, if only. There was such a clear shortage here sometimes, still, she wouldn't complain. Then, her ears perked up as a cry peirced through the frigid air, she scented wolf. She could tell almost automactically that this wolf was not from Sallin, it smelled of the outside, of places she did not recognize. A concerned look on her face, she follolwed the scent, wondering if it was just some loner looking for acceptance, or an enemy. She'd never done much on the note of acceptance, but perhaps now was her chance.
She trotted along, her pace quickening until she came to a quick halt, noticing a large wolf standing near the border. He was definately not from here. Her smile vanished, her eyes filled with an inquisitive light. Why was he here in this cold? Did he not have a warm den somewhere? Or was he perhaps truly searching for acceptance. With an unsure look on her face, Fellen approached him.
"Hello newcomer," she greeted, trying to reme, ber all her mother had taught her about acceptance, "what are you doing on Sallin's border, and on a night so cold?"

ooc: Gah! I apologize for the terrriibllyyy late reply. :(
The frigid air did not seem to cease. The snow around him was turning colder and colder, but Leland wouldn’t give in. His fur was thick, true, but perhaps not as thick as one might think. His black paw pads trudged through the snow, his eyes ever so observant at the borders of Sallin. So far, nobody came out and about, and it made the male sigh. Well, he journeyed this far; he couldn’t possibly leave now! Making his way through the snow, his charcoal-coloured nose finally picked up a scent. A Sallin wolf was wandering around here somewhere, and boy, did it give Leland new hope!
A petite figure came out of the shadows of the trees and bushes, and her blue-grey eyes seemed to just sparkle out like the stars. Corny, yeah, but it was the truth for Leland! She didn’t at all seem like a Sallin wolf, and for a moment there, Leslie himself thought he was perhaps at the wrong pack. Shaking his head, he moved closer to Fellen. A pause. Then, the female started speaking, asking questions. Oh boy.
“Hello newcomer, what are you doing on Sallin's border, and on a night so cold?”
The male didn’t hesitate in answering. His voice was cool and calm, like always, really. “My name is Leland; I humbly seek acceptance into the noble pack, Sallin. If I may ask, who are you? You have the air of… Someone important.”
He sat, thus waiting for her response. The night was certainly chilly, and the brown-hued wolf only hoped this was soon going to be over.

[Sorry about the rushed reply, I need to get going to school XD]
Fellen could have chuckled at his reply, but instead her smile only grew. Someone improtant, eh? Did she truly look or smell important? That was a nice thing to know. Still, if this wolf could tell she was improtant then why did some wolves pick on her? It remained a mystery to her.
So far this wolf had done notihng against her, that was good news. She'd seen a few true brutes waiting for acceptance before, and she'd let her mother handle them. She didn't much like wolves who could overpower her in an instant, it made her uncomfortable. She supposed she would have to work on getting a tad more used to that.
"Alright Leland," Fellen nodded, appreciating the politeness of this wolf, "Well then, I need to know what you can do for Sallin. What are your strengths and your weaknesses, what skills do you have, and what kind of personality?"

ooc: I really need to stick to this forum. :l
Boy, was it getting colder out. The snow on the ground didn’t very much help, and when there’s snow, there’s gonna be chilly gusts of wind, you can bet that. Leland had a perfectly thick coat of fur, but sometimes those winds can get tricky, and sneak right around the strands of hair and get to your skin, and that’s when the cold starts to kick in. He refused to shiver, however. Cold as it may be, he couldn’t do that, especially in a notorious pack such as this. To him, that’d be a sign of weakness. A weakness he certainly did not want to portray.
Yeah, he liked taking this seriously.
“Alright Leland,” The female talked once again, and Leland was a bit confused. She seemed so kind, so gentle, so calm; he expected a Sallin wolf to probably snarl and spit at him and whatnot, but this Fellen girl was a high-ranked, and he needed to keep that in mind.
“Well then, I need to know what you can do for Sallin. What are your strengths and your weaknesses, what skills do you have, and what kind of personality?”
“I only offer Sallin my undying loyalty, respect, strength and brains. I might be young, but I’ve got a knack of creating things, such as a mere little snowball with a face made out of pebbles.”
And with that, he certainly didn’t hesitate in creating this amazing, awesome, cool, breath-taking snowball. Yeah. I bet wolves never thought about that. Scooping some snow with one paw and and making it into a solid ball with the other, Leland picked up a few dark pebbles and attempted to place them on the front, resulting in a perfect snowball… With a smiley face. Made out of tiny pebbles.
“Look at that! He’s so happy to see you!”
Leland might’ve been the serious type, but he sure knew how to throw in a sarcastic joke here and there.
“But, on a much serious note, my biggest strength would have to be, well—my strength. I have a brain, yes, but I have decent brawn, too. My weaknesses would have to be, err…
He had to stumble on that one. In truth, he didn’t know what his weaknesses were; he had yet to find them out, and Leland didn’t hesitate in explaining this to Fellen.
“Honestly, I don’t really know my weaknesses. My life was just probably too boring to really experience anything that made me feel weak.”
And then, his personality. What would he say to that?
“My personality? Hrmm. As you can probably already tell, I’m always up for a chit-chat. However, I do not accept any weaklings, or of the foolish-minded. I am respectful and loyal to all those who deserve it, to the Alphas, Nightshade and Kaine. If I had to die for even the both of them, I would gladly take the leap.”

Fellen listened intently as the wolf explained himself. She was already warming up to him, enjoying his good natured character. Obviously, he was a little ray of sunshine in her world, and she enjoyed seeing the sun everynow and then. Usually, the wolves she accepted were cold, wanting nothing but permission into the pack. It was that type of wolf that she rushed through with this action. However, this time she didn't feel as if she was stressing to leave.
Call her strange, but even as a member of Sallin, she liked wolves like this better. Sometimes they need a smile to shine on their rainy little parade. When she had been a puppy, she'd thoguht it impossible that someone could never smile, always frown and growl. However, in this place that theory had been proven wrong. There were wolves here that would surely never laugh or grin, and never had. Or at least she had never caught them in the act. Still, it was Sallin. What was she supposed to expect?
So, this wolf could offer his skills? Couldn't everyone. It seemed as if she got the same information everytime she came into one of these things. Strentgh, smarts blah blah blah. She wondered if that was what her mother really wanted in her pack. Still, she liked this one.
She couldn't resist giggling slightly as the wolf scooped up snow, realizing how odd it was. She watched him as he made a face within the frigid crystal and poitned it at her. Any other girl might have brust out laughing, but the princess of Salllin knew to keep her calm. She need not look like some flirtacious fool before this character.
[/b]"Well Leland, " she smiled, "So far I've liked what I've heard. Your personality is one I admire, though it is not common in this dark pack. Now, allow me to ask you one more thing. Would you give your pack your undying loyalty? Even if you did not agree, would you follow orders? Defiance is not much welcome in Sallin, but bad chocies are not either. Just tell me though, you are obviously a kinder type of character, why Sallin?"

She only smiled at his snowball model, but that was all she really had to do. He wasn’t expecting a roar of laughter or anything huge; a simple smile, and he raised his paw, resulting in crushing the hard-packed ball of snow and ice. It was now nothing but a small mound, with the pebbles flown all over the ground. He raised his dark orange eyes back at Fellen, noticing that she wasn’t done yet.
“Well Leland, so far I've liked what I've heard. Your personality is one I admire, though it is not common in this dark pack. Now, allow me to ask you one more thing. Would you give your pack your undying loyalty? Even if you did not agree, would you follow orders? Defiance is not much welcome in Sallin, but bad chocies are not either. Just tell me though, you are obviously a kinder type of character, why Sallin?”
This one took a bit of thinking, and as he lowered his head to avert his gaze back on the frozen floor beneath them, his mind clicked and whirred, and Leland finally was able to come out with something.
“I know that I may seem the kindest and politest thing in the world, fair Lady, but don’t be fooled. I pay respect where respect is due, but during battle, I am most unmerciful. The reason I chose Sallin is because Sallin praises power, and strength. I feel like I can do something for Sallin—I have the smarts, the strength. As for my undying loyalty, you need not worry about that. I would do anything, whether it be jumping off a cliff, anything for this pack.”
Another chilly gust of wind picked up, but Leland stayed where he was, eyeing Fellen and awaiting her response once again. If any more questions were shot at him, he would answer; he liked the company, seeing as a couple of years of solitude and abandonment in the wilderness was a mighty uncomfortable thought, and this chat between the two of them made the tan-and-black wolf grateful.

((Super short post D: But at least you're accepted now!))
"That is very good to hear," Fellen nodded at his words, realizing now that she should not be doubting this character. It was obvious that he had the stuff Sallin needed, and she understood from his words that he fit in just fine. Sallin would accept Leland, and Leladn would embrace it.
Loyalty and respect were very valuable traits, and this wolf seemed like a wealth of both. Still, a little good humor on the side could be just as needed. You'd be suprised how little comic relief there was in this place; or maybe you wouldn't. Sallin was a cold, dark world, and many wolves were constantly at eachother's throats. She would enjoy knowing that there was someone who could make her smile everynow and then.
"Alright Leland," she smiled, "It seems like everything is in order. You are definately Sallin material. I welcome you to this pack."
