Wine red leaves gave the land the look like it was stopped in time. The only notice that life went on as normal was the gental breeze from the winter days. Snow fell from the trees in clumps, only patches actually on the ground. The sun hung in mid-sky and gray clouds difted over the heavens. It all seemed peaceful to those who didn't know much about the lands. The dog pack of Synl took residance here. As well, as long as they did, these lands would never see a peaceful nights rest until Nightshade and the Sallin pack was taken care of. As far as Turon knew, the dogs here wer always on their toes. He could understand that.
Here he thought of nothing but peace. Though the scars on his eye would always be a reminder of what was and what could be. Never had he known the true peace that a land could have, only the pain of being stabbed in the back. Thats why he enjoyed the peace one could actually find here and not have to worry about what was outside these lands. Turon had been accepted into this, his new home. Though, he had no friends and didn't expect any. It was danerous. Too dangerous.
He stopped walking over the uneven land, breathing in the air around him. However, he couldn't help but wonder about the other dogs that took up residance here. They wouldn't be friends, he would make sure of that. But that didn't mean to couldn't talk to anyone, right? Turon wondered how the best way to go through with this was. Bark and draw attention or keep walking and hope to run into someone? He chose the latter, pressing on forward across the territory.

Katt stepped through a large pile of leaves. Coming from the camp, the dogs were talking to each other, just blabbering on. Katt felt like she needed to get away from all that. A single glimpse of this place would take her breathe away. The warm hues of wine, the red and brown sky and ground. She would see glances of blue sky through the patches of leaves, but she'd rather look at the illuminated trees. Her brown tail swished to the side and she began to sit down near a creak. Drinking the cool water she felt refreshed. She looked at her rippling reflection and gave a small gasp. She looked too much like her mother, it scared her to see her face. Sighing, she drank a little more and then stood up. She was going to indulge herself in a run, just a wonderful day. A little brisk, but nice. but as she was about to run, she remembered the threat of Nightshade, and lost the need to run. This place made it easy to forget. She sighed, continuing on her way, stepping over the creak, careful not to step into the creak for other drinkers. A rabbit flashed away, but she had lost her appetite. Why had she thought of her mother? Any little thing just sent the whole memory flying toward her. Her father's cruel bite and her mothers harsh bark. It was more then enough to send nightmares throughout her childhood.

The sound of a creek was what caught Turon's attention. His ears perked up at the sound. A nice calm place to relax was what that was, but he wasn't thirsty or even interested in the calmness. He couldn't relax, let his guard down. That would result in something horrible to happen and Turon would rather die than let something happen. Kahvie had been nice and let him join her pack, but now kind would she be if he ended up killing someone?
That's why he halted when the scent of a female came to him. Turon immediately stopped in his tracks, a horrified look on his face as he took a pawstep back. Tail went inbetween his legs as ears pulled back against his skull. It wasn't until he had noticed that there was no one there before he allowed himself to somewhat relax. turon let his ears perk up to their normal position before he proceeded forward. The stream of water was undisturbed though the scent of dog was unmistakable. Slowly, the black male moved forward, eyes looking every which way possible for the female that had passed by here only moments before.

The scent of a male had drifted to Katt, she looked behind herself, a black dog was looking around, seemingly looking for someone. He wasn't close by, but not out of sight's reach. She turned around, walking toward him. She hadn't seen him before, but she was new here as well. The young dog came to a stop when she was about a yard away from him. All thoughts of her past vanished. "Looking for something?" she asked, tilting her head.

He shrunk back as the other dog came over to him, tail going back under him and ears pulling back. Turon was scared, but not of this female. It was a complicated sort of thing, but he understood some of it. She could get hurt. She held the same scent of the one he had been following. Blue eyes looked up at her, the male silent as he wondered how to reply to her question. He was looking for friends, followed her scent, but what was he looking for? It would be pretty awkward to tell her he was looking for her. That would make him seem like a stalker.
"A...friend," he replied in a small whisper, eyes going down towards his paws. this was so nervewracking for him. It had been so long since he had actually been part of a pck, let alone talk to someone.

She was a little surprised to see his afraid reaction, then an almost guilty expression, she waited for him to reply, standing still. She wasn't sure what he seemed to be afraid. "A...friend," he replied in a small whisper, eyes going down towards his paws. She felt a little awkard, as to what he had said. Perphaps he was following her scent looking for company, or maybe he had just happened to be going in the same direction as she. Either case here they were, and he was looking for a friend. It didn't matter whether he was following her or not, if he was he was looking for a friend and not a mate. Though she should be a little weary until she knew him better. "New here?" she asked, understanding how he might feel, alone in a pack of strange dogs. Of course she'd recongize Kahvie well enough, but so many seemed to come and go that it was hard for a newcomer to get used to it quickly.

Slowly Turon nodded. He was new, yes and it was not something he was used to. Traveling his whole life never once had he truely belonged somewhere and here he hoped to find that place. Looking up from his paws, the black and gray male sat down on the ground, tail pressing close to his side. EArs perked back up a bit but his head remained held down.
"I'm..." he paused. What name should he give her? The one his mother gave to him or the one he gave himself? "Turon." He decided on the latter. It didn't hold as many horrible memories.
((Sorry. Crappy post.))

((it's ok! Sorry about being so late!)) "I'm..." He paused, seeming unsure what to say, ". . .Turon." Katt nodded, Turon, a reasonable name. She looked at him, he still seemed to be acting guilty for something, or just embarrassed with the way that they had met. But it was fine by her, sometimes you have to look for a friend instead of waiting for one to appear. Like she tended to do. . . She had completely forgotten her manners, with a swish with her brown and yellow tail she looked at him. "I'm Katt." she said, smiling at her own name, it was Swedish for cat, a weird name for a dog. "Or you can call me Kisse, whichever you prefer." The other name meant 'Kitty,' she normally didn't give it out like she just did, but she felt like he needed a more open person to open up to. She sat down, trying her best to appear cheerful, she didn't like seeing other depressed, but she only knew too well how horrible one's past could be.

He nodded as she spoke her name. Katt looked friendly enough and this mutt sure did need a friend more than anything. Smiling slightly, the dark colored male thought it over. Katt or Kissie. If he had to chose one he would prefer Katt. It was easier to remember. " Katt is a good name." Turon paused there, not quite sure on how to continue the conversation. Small talk would get something going but everything usually led up with history. And he was not about to spill to a complete stranger he just met.
"How long have you been in Synl?" Random question, but sometimes the ones who have been there the longest knew more on how to start a conversation. However, that wasn't the truth for everyone.

"Katt is a good name." He said before pausing. Katt wasn't sure if it was a good name. . . but was accepting the compliant. "How long have you been in Synl?" It seemed out of the blue, but was reasonable. Better than sitting around being silent, she guessed. "Um.. maybe a week now." she said, she didn't really keep tract. She double counted to make sure. "Actually a week and a few days."
She glanced at the red trees and sighed, she would never get used to the beauty, she was sure. She was thinking about the place and the few dogs she met, and then remembered that she was having a conversation and dropped all thoughts. "How long have you been here?" she asked.

A week and a few days. Not as long as he thought, but it was still longer than him, that was for sure. Then Katt went silent, her eyes turned up towards the trees. Turon followed her gaze, curious as to what had drawn the female's attention. It was either the leaves or the sky. Either way both were beautiful in his eyes. Freedom. That's what he saw. A freedom he would never have no matter what he did. A small sigh left him before her question was asked. It was only resonble that she would ask the same thing to him so why was he surprised? The sudden switch from silence to speaking? Most likely.
"A day or two. Not long." His reply was short and simple. Turon didn't want to get too close. Not now after so long of being alone. It would only cause problems to the pack as well as him. Something he didn't want right now. If anything, Katt would be able to tell he was being distant towards her. It could easily be detected from his choice of words. The dark dog let his ears fall back to their normal upwards position on his skull.

She began to feel confused, was he embarrassed over something or did he just wanted to have a friend that he didn't have to get too close to? Katt looked at the dark dog, not sure what to say next. She sat in silence, words escaped her. She felt the cool breeze swept past her, her eyes grew dull as memories came and went. She lowered her head. Not now... she was conversing with someone, maybe the only one she'd ever talk to. Time to ask another question. . . "Do you like it here?" she asked, it was simple. But simple was ok.
