No Where To Go (Kahvie, please?)

[Shantik]

Small paws stepped delicatly over the land. A sigh was visible in the cool night air and the wind stirred up the already-cold soul of the young mutt. She sat down, her usually bright green eyes dull. She had traveled too far in one day to keep going for now. Rakine was no longer safe in her opinion. If only this hadn't started. If only her mother hadn't been. . .

She stopped her bothersome thoughts and shook her head, trying to clear her mind. She lay down in the soft grass, her paws tired from the long day's walking. She watched as the sun began to set in the distant sky. She closed her eyes, hoping that dreams would take her away.

[Addie]

(OOC: Quick question before I post, are your character's goggles meant to be Kavs' old deserted ones here?)

(ooc: ^^; Hehe, heh. . . Sorry about that. . . . . . Yeah, kinda. Is that ok. . . ? *cringe* I just kind of made that character and since that picture's the only one I had of her. . .)

As the moonlight broke through the trees above to cast eerie shadows on the snow below, Kahvie trotted aimlessly through the Synl territory. Not that she had anything to do at the moment...Nisse never seemed to be around anymore, and neither did the Beav. Dang, she missed those guys. It was tough running the pack, and while Nisse was a bug and Sonny needed a tad bit of guidance himself at times, they always made things a little less stressful by being around. Come to think of it-

"Aj!"

As the mutt's left forepaw hit something curled up in the snow, her legs buckled and she felt herself hit the ground in response. Stunned, she lay there for a few seconds, eyes glazed over in an idiotic stare. Finally regaining herself she stood on shaky limbs, somewhat agitated.

"What the hell...wait...who are you?"

[Shantik]

Shantik looked up drowsily, shaking her head. What was that? She looked about, wondering what had hit her. Then she saw the shape of the brown and tan dog. She smiled, releived to see a dog and not some wolf that would chase her off it territory with barks and warnings. She got up into a sitting position and smiled warmly.

"My name is Shantik. It's very nice to meet you."

She dipped her head in greetings, deciding to be nice, though not much thought was put into that choice.

[Addie]

The mutt stared at the dog who had obstructed her path as she sat and bowed her head. Not exaclty sure who this dog was, Kahvie shook herself and cocked her head.

"Shantik? Eh, I don't recall your name. I must have accepted you though, no?"

(OOC: Sorry, short post! Lack of sleep + IRL crap = brainfarts)

(It's ok! I make way short post, anyway...and I'm used to one-liners on other sites.)

Shantik cocked her head in confusion. She looked the dog over, wondering who this was, and curious as to if there was a pack nearby...after all, she'd said 'accepted'...

"I, um...have never really been here before...I'm a wanderer, really. I've never been accepted into any pack...they didn't like me because I'm a dog..."

She pouted, remebering how she'd tried to live in Rakine Port...but every human there wanted her as a pet, and she prefered the freedom of the woods and the wild.

[Addie]

As the other talked, Kahvie's head moved slowly to look to her right, her short attention span kicking in as a blank look crossed her eyes. She never really took her job as an alpha too seriously, and because of that didn't pay too much attention to new dogs who looked like they wouldn't cause any trouble. She honestly didn't care too much about the pack, unlike Beaver. It was more of a territory thing for her, and that was more what kept her from leaving Synl and letting it crumble...that, and the Beav would kill her if such a thing were to happen. Plus the whole "strength in numbers" thing...Nightshade was a bitch...wait, what was she doing?

Oh, yeah. The newcomer.

"Uh...so. Yeah. What did you want? Wait. Oh, right...uh, if you wanna live here, you gotta talk to me first. Prove you're worthy, can be trusted and all that crap."

Guh...where had she seen those goggles before?

[Shantik]

At first, Shantik wasn't sure if the female was paying any attention to her. But then, she spoke up, and Shan smiled.

"Uh...so. Yeah. What did you want? Wait. Oh, right...uh, if you wanna live here, you gotta talk to me first. Prove you're worthy, can be trusted and all that crap."

Oh, wait a second...did that mean that she was Alpha? Well, that sure made things easier. But wait...Prove..?

"Er...how would I prove myself? Is there some kind of...trial...?"

(Short...too short...XP ...I hate braindeadness!)

[Addie]

"Trial?"

The dog cocked her head when the other female mentioned a trial. Well, it should have been expected, seeing as how Kahvie had just made it sound like you had to run through an obstacle course (complete with a fire hoop) in order to join the pack.

"Eh, I'm gonna be honest with you...the members here just kind of come and go. Some come just to have a place to sleep for a while, others decide it isn't worth the trouble of being targeted by Sallin and take off to go live with humans like wussies. Hell, I haven't even seen my own brother in, uh, the gods know how long. But, I guess I could come up with something for you to do. Why don't go steal something from the humans? That's always fun."

(OOC: If you don't wanna create a new thread to have Shantik steal something and risk people not replying/the thread dying, just have her say she doesn't want to and I'll have Kavs tell her to do something else:P. I could have Echo participate if you want to do it, but if you just want to have Shantik in the pack without all the bother now, just let me/Kavs know!))

(Naaah, this is more fun!! *dances*)

Shantik frowned in thought. Aw...the poor girl's not seen her brother...? Shame...must have been fun and annoying too...She shrugged, grinning at the prospect of adventure as it hit her full on.

"That's sad...and why would they want to leave? Shelter is shelter, and humans are stinky. But if that's what it took, I wouldn't mind. In fact...it might be fun!"

She jumped up and danced in circles, her puppish attitude showing a little too much. Then, something occured to her and she turned back to the other dog.

"Er...where would I go...?"

[Addie]

The mutt looked off in the distance again as the other canine spoke once again. It was obvious that Kavs had trouble paying attention even in a one-on-one conversation, but she wasn't one to care about what others thought for the most part.

"Meh, I've had my fair share of run-ins with humans. Not a nice bunch. Well, there are two places around here that you could go. One is Hallow Village, which I would suggest on account of the fact the alphas will usually let you get away with stealing without giving you too much trouble. You could go to Rakine Port as well, but the alpha there is an old bitch. Either place, it's your choice."

[Shantik]

Shantik shuddered at the mention of Rakine port. She perfectly agreed with this dog; she'd not go there, even if it meant giving up a spot in this new pack. She grinned, watching her look away, bored obviously and absolutly lacking in attention.

"I'll head for Hallow, then. I'm sure I'll find my way there and back. I'll come back to you with what I get from there...but just in case I can't find you right away, what's your name? I could ask around on my way back here, if I get lost."
