Calm was the sea and the feeling within those who listened to the gentle movements of the ocean licking at the crisp white sand. The sun was setting slowing over the horizon painting the sky in an array of beautiful colours. A long shadow cast behind a taller figure who sat kneading the sand. At midpoint from the water and the area behind the sand rested this wolf, smiling gently.
Red eyes glistened brightly in the setting sunlight, soft brown nose sniffed slowly in the salty sea air as ears lay flat and relaxed listening to the water. " Such a pleasant evening, " Smartie whispered to herself, saying each word slowly and carefully. " Tonight the beach is calm. Or so it seems. I believe that it is not only my presence existing on this vast area tonight, " said the grey wolf with lighter shaded grey stripes stricken across her body.
She was addressing any figure who was within earshot, talking to them in a welcoming voice.
/ Mainly for those who have never, and would like to, roleplay with me. /

(Hope I'm not muscling in, Charlie can come in too whenever he wants but I need to stretch Grebo's legs lol)
A black rock, silhouetted against the sun, rose out from the water at the low tide so that its top was dry. The lee of the rock danced with the reflection of the seawater, which was golden.
Grebo lay on the top of this rock so that it was difficult to see that he was there at all. He was black and blended in well with it, and he lay motionless. He hadn't thought the female had seen him, although he was pretty sure she could pick up his scent.
He stared at the water, watching it ripple and lap the sand, making a soothing noise. He had been running all day and exploring, and had laid down to go to sleep here, even though it was outside Arnlan's borders. He had thought perhaps he could spend one more night outside of a pack lands. And he'd always loved beautiful places like this one.
But he was unable to sleep. Before him lay a strange future, and his life had changed significantly. Part of him still felt like a lone wolf, which he didn't like: he had expected the transformation into a pack wolf to be a full one.
Lost in his thoughts, contemplating the past and the future, he was aware of the female but didn't see her as a threat. He had thought that perhaps she too was lost in her mind, and although he generally wasn't one for company he didn't mind it as long as there wasn't too much talking involved.
But when she spoke, his white-tipped ears pricked and he raised his head on his broad shoulders. He glanced at her for the first time in the low light. "Hi," he said. "Sorry, didn't see you arrive." This was the truth: he had only smelt her arrive and heard her. Why had she broken the silence with such a long-winded way of saying "who's there"? He didn't go in for unnecessary speech. But now he had said something, and she had said something, so this was a conversation. She would want him to say something else, that prompted a response: that was how conversations worked. He may as well get some practise in.
"I'm Grebo, by the way," he said after a long pause. Then, reluctantly, "Son of The Protagonist. My grandmother was Sootyca, Princess of Shadows." He always stated his lineage. It was just polite where he came from. If anyone he met knew those names, they would know he was either an enemy or a friend, or even a relative.
