Carsha Carsha Carsha! (curses curses curses!)
*Dainty little paws crunched on the new fell snow. Alert, green eyes darted about. There was a scent, there HAD to be wolves! And maybe, just MAYBE, some that spoke her langue. Trinity rolled her eyes. She doubted it, but just maybe. The slight she wolf shook the falling snow off her black saddled back and shivered*
Brr…Rifse, GAL rifse…. (cold, VERY cold).
*It got cold on her old island, but this was a little ridiculous. Trinity loved the water, and weather like this…well…swimming was unwise. It had been a good month since her recovery. Her black ears flicked back. How did that happen? Somewhere, deep inside, there were delusions of humans, but that must have just been fever induced dreams. All she knew is that she was thankful to have survived…but…with a silvery chuckly, she looked up to the sky. It was so HARD to live here! A total of four packs now didn’t know what to do with her, not realizing she WANTED to learn to communicate on this continent. THAT was frustrating. Trinity was by nature socialable, but it’s hard to have a casual chat when the listener have NO idea what your saying! She had made a little effort. A silly game of charades often got some ideas across…*
*Trinity finally sat, the long, black fur on her back flapping slightly in the breeze. She sat on a hill now, surveying the territory. With this weather, she couldn’t last long without a pack. She went to howl, but caught herself. No matter what her message said, there was no way of telling if they would understand. Instead, the little girl decided to howl just a note, just music. That should get SOMEONE”S attention…*

Sofika gave a content nod as she done her lap of the territory. In her wake she left light footsteps, perfect prints, embedded into the perfect blanket of white. Smirking, she rolled along the shadows, keeping out of the light of the moon. Her fur flickered behind her, almost wrath like as she went along the tree line. Beneath the snow was mud, creamy almost; churned up from the persistent rainfall that had come just before the snowfall. Creeping out onto the border, she swiftly went along at a reasonably comfortable pace, examining the trail.
But something caught her attention.
Lowering her head to her chest, erecting her tail and increasing her speed, she glided along at an impeccable rate in the direction from which her attention was driven. Upon a hill sat a female, and a growl erupted from the alphas throat. How dare she intrude upon the territory, find herself a nice perch to rest on, and then call for attendance. This made Sofika furious, and she dived up the hill to wards the other. Her eyes, covered by her long tuft of fur were narrowed. But no one had seen her eyes before, and they would not any time soon.
But if this one could see the anger glinting in her hues, she would no doubt be petrified stiff.
Leaping over a large boulder that had obscured her path, she landed gracefully on the ground before the other. Ears laid upon her head, the female's lips wrinkled and angry snarls emitted from her clenched teeth. The moonlight shone against her dark body, illuminating the two neon spots upon her maw. She did not go too kindly with wolves such as this. Security was everything, and how she had managed to travel this far in without detection was beyond her. She would need to double check on the border patrol now, and ensure no one was slacking.
" You, what are you doing here on my lands? "
Sofika's voice was terrifyingly high, and no doubt those in close range to this area would have heard her angry tone. Bristling her fur, she slithered close to the female, watching like a hawk. Her tail flickered involuntary behind her whilst remaining high behind her to state her position here. If this one was wise, she would do nothing to provoke any more anger from the alpha, for she was not in a particularly good mood. This should have been apparent in the way she conducted herself to this stranger.

AEI!
*For it to be known, Trinity had never been an overly submissive wolf. Nor a weak one, but NO ONE wouldn’t have been afraid of the wolf that leapt in front of her! The penetrating snarl, those odd glowing spots…and her tone! Trin didn’t need to speak the langue to know that this female was extremely mad at the lost wolf’s presence. The little female crouched low, ears whirled to the side in submission. It didn’t take much effort to not make eye contact with the black rage, for no eyes were present! But just in case, her green eyes squinted and rolled down to the strangers paws Never in her life had she seen on of her own kind so angry! But, was this ever of her kind? She had never in her life seen a wolf of those colors, let alone glowing! This put even more fear into her, causing her usually high voice to go even higher.*
Daku! Daku! (Please! Please!)
*Sofika’s body inched towards hers, and Trinity now law in the snow, every inch of her body tensed. She knew the chances of this furious stranger understanding her was slim, but it was worth a try. With all her strength, Trinity gained control of her high voice. She was more than certain that this she wolf would harm her…or kill her, if she tried anything. With a slow, steady, yet not chalanging voice, Trinity continued*
Daku, Daicha. (Please, High Lady) Da kirla nu Ragran. (I meant not to anger) Da berku cal Rifse. (I’m lost in the cold) Da kirla Ragr. (I mean no chalange). Tip Hala (just help).
*With hope devoid in her eyes, she looked up just slightly*
Ni la Nijla, kwe? (You don’t understand, do you?)

" Daku! Daku! "
What was this strange language that this female spoke? Sofika lowered her head and watched her carefully, slowing beginning to circle the female. Powerful muscles rippled on the female's slim form and lanky legs, her plush fur bounced gently on her body as she walked. The snow beneath her mitts crunched as each paw was thrust to the ground, light growls continued to escape from between her teeth with shimmered in the light.
" Daku Daicha Da kirla nu Ragran Da berku cal Rifse Da kirla Ragr Tip Hala "
Sofika had no time for this play. This language was foreign to her and it was an irritant to her ears. The alpha assumed that this one was lost, had somehow came across this region in her travels because she was obviously, not from around here. Licking her salivating lips, she moved right to the females face, with her nose inches away from the others. Both of their faces illuminated a pale blue as her spots glowed. Smirking, she leaped back wards into a seated position.
" Ni la Nijla, kwe? "
Interesting, though the midnight black female. Even if she could not understand the words spoken by this one, she could still read her body language. If one could not do this, then they were not a wolf. Trinity had pleaded with Sofika, and the expression on her face told the alpha that she meant no harm, that she was lost. Help was what she required, shelter from the temperatures. Nodding her head to the female, she rose from her seated position again. Her head swayed from side to side a little.
" I do understand you. Despite the difference between languages I can interpret what you are trying to say from the way you hold yourself. "
Her voice had softened slightly, but she was still angry that the wolf had managed to stray this far into her territory. This, she would deal with later, for now though, she hoped that the other new how to read body language. Sound did not matter to Sofika. She had been around mute wolves before, and she could understand them. This golden brown female was no different, except she made sounds. Nodding her head, she stopped her growling to assure her that she was listening.

*The eerie glow that lighted the small females face no longer scared her as much…as it fascinated her.*
*Trinity’s eyes shifted into curiosity as the strange female sat in front of her. Oh, good. A smile…not a particularly friendly one, but a smile nonetheless. She herself hinted at a ghost of a slight smile, but didn’t keep it long. The female began to speak. With all her might, she tried to pick up words she heard before…ones she had understood…AHHA! Understand! THAT was one she had heard on multiple occasions. The confused looks and shaking head of the wolves that said it made her understand it’s meaning. But there was something in the way she said it. Trinity realized that she DID understand, not didn’t! She let out a little sigh and the smile returned, but only, once again, for a moment. There was nothing in the world the little wolf would do to keep that rage from returning. Sofika…was different. So many times before, Trinity tried to convince others that they could understand her with her movements, even with her rather silly charades. But they didn’t listen. Fear and intolerance of the unknown, most likely. This black, unnatural female was…smart? No, that wasn’t the word. There weren’t many of Trinity’s kind that she wouldn’t call smart. Then…ah that was it…wise. This Sofika had taken the TIME to understand, and she was most grateful. With slow, deliberate movements, her tiny tan paws began to lift her body, ever so slightly. The female had quit growling, she wasn’t going to make it return. Trinity now sat in a very slouched position, still making it clear she meant to harm. Now was her time to communicate. She decided her langue wouldn’t work, for, oddly, it seemed to irritate the female*
Da…understand. Understand…
*It was true. Trinity could read this female. Even though looking at her and her anger made her long, black hair stand on end, she understood that her life was no longer in danger (she hoped!) and that Sofika was attempting to understand her. Something she was very grateful for. Though she wished to continue to inform the glowing female she was no threat, but also didn’t want her to presume Trinity a babbling Omega. She would try something. With one of her odd paw movements she was so fond of, Trinity picked up a forepaw and pressed it against her creamy chest and looked deep into Sofika’s muzzle, letting her know she was talking to her, yet not trying for the ever elusive eyes*
Da Trinity…
*Her brow now furrowed slightly, distorting her knotwork on her forehead. Now to ask her name while using as little of her langue as possible. It seemed to irriate her, but she didn’t by any means want Sofika to feel like she thought she was stupid. Dainty paw extended now to point at the black female*
Da, Daicha? (And you, High Lady?)

Trinity seemed... relieved somewhat as she sighed, and sat now in a slouched position. What a dreadful posture to take, thought the alpha who slowly began to circle the she wolf. Her lips wrinkled as she examined the intruder but she made not a sound. Now that she was in the lands, there was only two options available to her. Join the pack, or be killed. Those who strayed so far into the pack never left, unless of course, they were dead or if they were a scout and had been given the privilege of leaving for a while.
Small feet pressed against the soft ground leaving the faintest of prints in the mud and snow. Her limbs moved with ease, and they were relaxed. Plush fur bounced on her body, but billowed about her when the wind picked up. Nodding to the female, as if to let her know that she had been examined and seen acceptable, she regained a stance infront of the wolf. If she were to allow this one to enter the pack... what use would she be? was the question lingering in her head.
" Sofika. "
This word was said swiftly and the end vowel was not lingered upon. This was her name, her response to the request of her name. Looking down the hill, she eyed the pathway up, and prints in the snow showed the trail of Trinity making her way up. Snorting, her attention ran along the border line. There were no fresh sentry tracks. Could she not depend on even the subordinates to pull their weight around here? Groaning to herself, she eyed Trinity, carefully.
" You don't know where you are, do you? "
Sofika doubted this very much because anyone else would dare not stray around pack territories that they were not familiar with. Food would not be provided for this female. She should have smelled the pack scent as she came across the lands. She could hunt for herself, by the looks of it. Shelter could be found in the nearby forests or human areas. Lifting her maw, she watched her for a moment before speaking again.
" You are in the lands of Arnlan. "

*With the nod of apparent temporary acceptance, Trinity straightened her body. She groaned a little and swung her head a couple of times, until an audible pop sounded. It may not have been comfortable, but it got the point across. Her blacked lined ears rested comfortably on the side of her head, a submissive position, but not exactly terrified. Her green eyes still focused around her muzzle. The obvious choice was not to stare at the eyes…if they existed…and staring at her blue spot…well…that might seem rude. Trin kept her face serious, but not stern. Her tail wrapped around her feet in the snow, and the long, black hair on her back waved in the breeze. What an intro this had been! And it sure wasn’t over! A little groan escaped her mouth again. What she had done was obviously wrong. The little wolf knew she stumbled in too far, and thought that warning others before they found her would be wise. However, it seemed quite the contrary. She would think of that later, however. The black wolf spoke, and with a tiny smile, Trinity rose to her feet and bowed, one paw tucked in*
Sofika…
*She went back to sitting, the smile gone. Such a lovely name. Trinity wouldn’t forget it. Her little head cocked as Sofika looked behind her. With a smooth motion, she herself looked over her shoulders…ah…her tracks. To be honest, she had not seen another wolf before. Perhaps it was that fact also that placed the ebony female in a sore mood. But most definitely this wolf was indication of a pack, which is what she needed badly. Trinny was social, not obnoxiously so, but enough to make her pine for company. Sofika spoke again, and the little wolf listened, trying to pick up words she knew. It was obvious, however, that the midnight female knew she wouldn’t understand much. One word in particular she never head before.*

Sofika disregarded the popping noise made by Trinity and watched her with growing curiosity. What was this language she spoke of? Such words the alpha had never heard before... or at least, not that she could recollect. Perhaps a far away land was were they originated? Across the sea that was north of the pack? Maybe, but the doubt of a wolf such as the one before her swimming all the way across it in such temperatures seemed impossible. Sofika moved closer to Trinity and stared hard at her, and again, she circled her. She appeared well built, but was she really all she appeared to be?
The submissive pose was a wise one. Smirking, she loomed over the female, after going around her once. Her skinny figure still had her fur billowing about behind her as the speed of the wind kept on an even pace. Hmm. Her anger had almost vanished. Her entrance before the female no doubt gave the impression of an ill tempered wolf. Her anger from things built up from events that had happened during the day had only been added to when this one had come. Then again, there was no excuse for such an honest mistake. Grumbling to herself, she backed up a little and rested on her hinds.
Her head nodded in signal for the other one to rise. Trinity would learn. Yes, she would learn their language, and her old one would be lost to her as it was to Sofika. Flicking her ears she felt a slight shiver run down her spine. This intruder would not survive long outside the borders in these temperatures which decreased at a rapid pace. Perhaps it would be safe to cast her out, and let the climate kill her instead of having the blood on her maw, thought Sofika. Then again, what if she survived? The only thing the alpha could really do was accept her, and hope that she would prove to be of use. Sofika would then rise, as Trinity did.
" Come, with me, and tell me about yourself. " she said, turning to lead Trinity into the land of Arnlan. She had been granted acceptance.

*The larger female had definitely calmed some. The tip of her striped tail began to move some. After all this time, someone was trying to communicate, instead of push away. The tiniest smile appeared. The head swing that Sofika gave was universal. Slowly, Trinity got to her feet. A larger smile was given to the glowing female. This was a very good start. A new life. Sofika began to walk away, her trim body swaying in the breeze. Trinity shivered again. It was cold. Even for a wolf used to the weather, it was cold…*
Brr…
*For a moment, Trinity walked a ways behind, staying quite. Sofika had spoken to her, and it was polite to say something back. She just had to figure out what to say! Her emerald eyes fell upon the snow in front of her. There was the stern female’s prints…and there were hers. It’s not that this female had large feet…but Trinity was so small…her voice was small…her body was small. With a little discouraged huff she walked on. It was very easy to dismiss her as a pup, when she was sure she was at least the age of Sofika. That was a boundary she hoped she would never have to jump over. A caw of a crow broke her out of her trance. It sat, a welcomer, upon a dead tree. The spidery limbs seemed to be common in these parts. As well as ice…her ears perked at a strange sound…a running stream! Aha! Now she could communicate! With a little whine, she side stepped a little over to the water. Trinity looked back to her leader*
Da Colsta (my home)
*With a paw gesture to her chest, she then pointed to the water. Gingerly, she picked up a small rock in her teeth and launched it across the water, then pointed to the opposite bank. Trinity gave an embarrassed smile, it was a pathetic attempt, she knew it, and if she could blush, she would…*
Under..stand?

Sofika watched ahead of her, allowed the new female to observe her surroundings, take in the scenery... even if it was not up to much at this time of year. The trees were stripped almost bare, snow covered the land in a thick blanket, and the sky was dark above them. Of course, Arnlan's shadows had not abandoned them, they remained lingering around the trees like a dark mist intent on remaining. The darker coated wovles of the pack used this darkness to their advantage; movements could be made without notice of another. It was great to play games on the minds of others if you were in the mood for taunting. Karolek was guilty for that sort of play.
The soft whine that came from Trinity brought Sofika turning around to attend to her. The black wolf watched carefully as Trinity looked at the water and then spoke. Home, she thought and nodded to her. Yes, it would be. If she could cope with the cold temperatures. Already she seemed to be struggling with the way things were at the moment, but Trinity had more of a challenge awaiting her. Temperatures were forever decreasing to dangerous levels. Sofika sighed. Hopefully this one would not fall victim to the climate like those before her. The alpha looked to the sky momentarily remembering all those who had suffered and died to the cold.
Understand. Flicking her ears she dropped her head and looked to the new one. The alpha replied with a simple 'yes' and watched the ripples in the water slowly increase in diameter to points where they vanished at the banks. She would have smiled, but there were other things on the female's mind which prevented her from doing so." Trinity. Karolek, my brother, " she said slowly and watched the female. " he looks similiar to me. " Shaking her maw, she lifted her paw and drew it across her spots. " These are on his maw also. He is your alpha, the dominant male of Arnlan. " If Trinity understood that then she would be fine. Of course, with Karolek's ways, his authority in the pack would be clear to any new wolf.

*With another embarrassed smile, Trinity nodded. Using the river as an analogy for the ocean was a bit strange, but apparently effective. Hopefully by explaining this, the laungue barrier would be explained. The little wolf lowered her head a little in thought as the wind blew her long back hair. This barrier would be broken, she knew it, but when? Her head jerked up as Sofika began to speak. There were more words she had heard previously, but didn’t know the meaning. Karolek, on the other hand, was new. When she drew her paw across her muzzle markings, Trinity smiled. For the longest time, everyone gave her a hard time for using her paws to speak with. Even when she was back on her island home, her father especially, would say she would never be able to communicate anything without her paws. The irony in THAT statement. Now it was the only way she could talk. It was a very good thing she never broke that habbit….*
*But then she heard a word she had heard multiple times before, and for the first time it really hit…Alpha! Her tail began wagging swiftly. A smile sprung both upon her maw and in her eyes. This was a start. Now to tell Sofika. Trinity tried hard to stay calm. She had seen this wolf at her worst, and she really didn’t want to see it again.*
Alpha…*she said calmly, and with her dainty feet, pointed to Sofika* Daicha… *she used her old word. Maybe it would help somehow* Alpha..*with one more thrust, she retracted her paw.*
*There was one more thing she understood now. IN this pack, if you bore the paranormal glowing marks, you were of power. Trinity rolled her paw over her muzzle, and then traced Sofika’s muzzle in front of her*
Alpha.

A thought on how the others would think of this new wolf coming in, using her paws and speaking foreign tongue skipped her mind. She would not tolerate any bullying towards this new wolf, because everyone deserved a fair chance, and she tried not to discriminate nor encourage it in the pack. Trinity looked like a genuinely good wolf, and Sofika still, was in no doubt of her decision. She'd adjust. She'd learn. Just as everyone else had when they first arrived.
Daichu meant Alpha, or something similar she figured, seeing as it was said before and after 'alpha.' " Sofika, " she said, motioning her paw to her chest so make sure that Trinity really understood that she was Sofika. Then, drawing her paw over her maw, she tried to clarify that the other one with spots like her own was " Karolek. " Sniffing slightly, she looked around the dark, dainty territory. It seemed lifeless.
She was getting the hang of this, the new female. Word would probably be picked up along the way, but then again, if the wolves remained as solitary as they where, it would take an awful long time. Sofika considered checking up on Trinity from time to time, and she'd make sure she'd settled nicely. The black wolf flashed a smile of glimmering white teeth and wrinkled her nose a little as the long hair of her forehead tickeld at her nostrils. " Ok? " she asked.
