Taking in a crisp winter breath a brown pelt was totting across the snow happily trying to not run in to anything. Silver’s mom told him a lot about packs, but they had never been apart of one. Stopping at a tree to rest, he had been traveling all night and the day jest broke, smelling the air silver could tell that he had pasted the border from the Sallin territory to the Arnlan territory. Feeling really relieved to get out of the territory that smelled like sloughed dogs and wolves, silver got up to get farther away from that territory silver turned around and walked into the tree. Shaking his head “I hope no one saw that” he muttered to himself and blindly followed the freshest scented path.

“I hope no one saw that”
"I did" The scout hopped down from where she had been watching, like so many Arnlan wolves, the shadows here ofuscated its inhabitants. See saw the young male so hesitantly creeping through Arnlan's territories. Pollux had watched him enter, like he didn't even know where he was, it had stuck her odd that he had come from Sallin, and had the gall to wander into Arnlan on top of everything.
But then she noted the pale pupilless sheen of the male's eyes. A blind wolf, it explained a lot of his behavior, but still it did not explain his expulsion from Sallin....alive.
She circled the male with a bit of an audible limp, sniffing "You reek of Sallin...what is your business here?" Sallin was not a friend of Arnlan, those monstrous wolves were somewhat a specialty of Pollux's , her business was knowing what those knaves were up to and she knew, lately nothing good. They often would start skirmishes about the borders.
If his reply pleased her, she would ask him for his name, though her tone was tough, it was obvious her tenacity was not towards Silver, but for the protection of her pack and homelands, she was only a good wolf sounding bad.

silver scowled himself for day dreaming. silver ears did a 360 radar around him trying to pinpoint were the wolf was.
"You reek of Sallin...what is your business here?"
"I wish to join your pack. and I had to travel through the that tainted land." silver said looking forward his nose twitching. speaking about Sallin unnerved him slightly remembering the smell of death eveywere.

"Yes, I can smell you did travel through Sallin, my question is, how did some bumbling pup make it through without Nightshade making a throw-rug out of you?" Though Silver could not see it, Pollux rose a brow still skeptical of the young male. He did not look as though he had been ruffled up. "Anyways, it is not my place to tell you whether you can join these pack lands. It is my alphas you much request audience for."
"I am Pollux, Scout of the lands in which you wish to join." She nodded politely, she was courteous but if Silver tried anything, she would be merciless with him. His loyalties were deeply in question. "You do know that joining these lands mean that you can never leave and be the same wolf that you were." It was not a threat, it was just how Arnlan was, wolves who left for good, never seemed to be able to remember who they were in Arnlan, or where the lands were after they left.

"Yes, I can smell you did travel through Sallin, my question is, how did some bumbling pup make it through without Nightshade making a throw-rug out of you?" silver was dumbfounded he never thought of that or why he never encountered any one there either.

"well Pollux my name is silver and may I request your alpha's presents?" silver said politely as he could sitting at attention.

"If that is what you want, yes, I can call their attention to you." She tilted her head back and howled, her voice was feminine and reedy, unlike her gruffer speaking voice. "I shall warn you, they may take their time, there has been an...influx of wolves seeking haven here, like yourself." She sat down and looked Silver over.
"You are not the first blind wolf I've met on these borders." It may have been rude to bring up, but Pollux tried to pass the time with idle chit-chat, she liked to talk, and the more they did, the more she could say to vouch for the younger wolf. "How long have you been like that?"

"I would think it would be better to be born blind, because you'd never know what you were missing in the first place...you would have your whole life to get used to having a lack of sight." She hummed introspectively, finally sitting down. "If I recall correctly, Ardane was the last one I greeted at the border, but he had lost his sight late in life..." Pollux's ears perked, waiting to hear a return call, but as of yet, there were none.
"I am sure that if you do not strike the alphas as odd, and mind your Ps and Qs you will probably make it into Arnlan safely, though, you must prove that you have some worth to these lands and the pack within them" She was giving him a few pointers, and why not, the young male didn't seem terrible, and so long as he could pull his own weight, another wolf was always welcomed. "Just remember, to expect the unexpected here...and you won't be caught off guard."
The scout smiled at that, it was a catch 22, how did one expect the unexpected? It did not happen, but still it was something she wanted Silver to keep in mind.

"yeah I guess your right. It lets me focus on my other seances. but having your sight does beet running in to a tree." silver smiled at Pollux. "thanks for the advise. I'll keep it in mind. Right now the unexpected would be me growing wings" silver said in a happy tone his ears listening for any other wolves coming along.

Pollux licked her nose and fidgeted, she was not a patient wolf, she was a mover, and a doer, she did not wait well. Even though she was blessed with some tolerance with age, the scout still liked to be on her feet.
Her ears backed, and she sneezed, what was taking them?
((I would leave a message in the Wanted section and perhaps a link to the thread for the Alphas))

Too far from her prefered cave, NightBlood, the only Sentry in Arnlan, had fallen asleep on a fallen log that lay suspended between the rocks and trees that thickly blanketed the lands. Deep into the climax of a dream, the giant wolf grumbled and growled in her slumber, attempting to fight off an enemy visible only to her. Ebony laws scraped slowly over the bark as cloud-white fangs bit down on the branch she thought was a leg or arm. Ears were pulled back in fear and hate while her tail shifted and swayed to mimick movements in the vision.
It wasn't long before a very real howl pulled her abruptly out of her dream. The shock of finding herself suspended in air instead of on the ground made Night scamble and flail. Just as she realized she was safe on the tree, a loud creak was emited from the wood below her. Eyes grew wide as she realized what was about to happen. Not bothering to jump or shout, NightBlood hit the ground with a loud 'thud'. She had only been up about four feet from the earth. Nothing broken, the Sentry got up and shook the debry from her fur.
That howl... Slightly familiar even though she had never heard it before. NightBlood knew it's sorce almost immediatly. She had met Pollux and Orion before. It had been Orion's voice she had heard, but sometimes there were similarities in the voices of siblings. Pollux's howl was preferably for the Alphas, but there was no sence in ignoring it. The sound came from the border and, unless it was for more meat being brought into the territory, it was most likely because another potential member had been sighted.
Forcing her bruised body forward, NightBlood left her now damaged sleeping spot and headed for Pollux as quick as her bad leg would allow. Her blind eye was rarely a hindarence for her anymore. Sure, her entire left side was now a blind spot, but she only needed one eye to guide herself through the brush. Only occasionally did she ever run into anything.
The dream long forgotten, NightBlood found Pollux and the newcomer fairly easily. As always, the meeting was held on or near the border. Only once did she ever have the displeasure of meeting a non-pack-member deep inside the territory. She would make sure it would never happen again.
She greeted them with a yawn, having only slept for about an hour.
"Been up all night, Pollux," she said through the yawn. Ending it, the giant continued, "What have you found?"
Night glanced from the male to Pollux. The new one was brown and tan, obviously blind from the look of his eyes. The female was as multi-colored as she remembered, but it was the first time the Sentry had noticed the rope trailing from her foreleg.

"His name is Silver, he wishes to join Arnlan, knowing full well the consequences of doing so." Her mish-mashed colored eyes fell on Nightblood as she noted the larger female inspecting -her- and not the newcomer.
Pollux paced some, still antsy from her patrolling, though she looked as though the only thing the older female should do is lay down, and let her gored leg heal. "After some evaluation, he doesn't seem over much a threat, however he has somehow luckily bumbled here through the Sallin borders without becoming minced meat." She smiled, but it was only the sort one would give a coworker, after all, the scout was on a job.
She was always on the job.
