“Come Ivan, Desoto, Svet, Marcus,” Rick said as he passed them on the deck and was walking towards the door to the dock, “t time to do your duties.” He turned around, “Marcus, wake up!” he walked back to Marcus and pulled him up by the black belt he wore as a collar. He then proceeded to walk Marcus to the door, all other dogs fallowed. They were let to the entrance of the boat, where two dogs were placed on each side of the door. Desoto and his brother Ivan were on the right, and his siblings Svet and Marcus were on the left. This was the typical setup of the four siblings. Desoto looked over from his spot on the far right to look at his siblings. As usual, Ivan and Svetlana were taking their job very seriously, and Marcus was falling asleep. Desoto was just sitting, just doing his job. That was how it had been for 3 years of his life. All the same, nothing different, it was boring. Boring, boring, boring.
Maybe today would be different. He hoped that it would be. Every port that they had visited recently had not had much activity. This port seemed to be different. There were people and dogs everywhere. Desoto began to lose himself in the entertaining sights and sounds of the port. He laughed inwardly as a small dog tried to haul away a large box of what seemed to be a shipment of meat, with no success. The small dog must have been only 10 pounds, while the box would be about 40. When the small dog walked away disappointed, Desoto went on to find even more entertaining sights. There were people chasing dogs, people chasing people, dogs chasing people, and dogs chasing dogs. There was so much activity here! Desoto could only chuckle at all of the things he was. He liked this port.
As the crew of his ship began to unload their shipment, one of the crew members, Danny, stopped next to Ivan, “Ivan, lets go. It’s your turn to walk with the crew.” Ivan got up and left with them. This was a safety precaution that seemed to help the crew a lot, because they had never in Desoto’s life had one box stolen. He watched as his brother walked away, but was soon distracted by the activity of the port.

There were many sounds that rustles and bustled around the port; screams, yelps, the sound of boxes, fishnets, etc. But one noise stuck out only to the Canine members of the rural port area. A small corgi mix had come into the port and was demanding that all move out of his way as he inspected the area.
" MOVE IT BIPED!!!" Shouted a low and course voice. It was of the small corgi. He had nipped his way through a thick crowd of humans. He did not care what they said or if they even tried to hit him. With each hand that came near him he bared his teeth and snapped in warning. He didnt want to really hurt anyone, but if they were going to hurt him; he was not going to allow that.
The small corgi managed his way to the port docks. There, his small but stout and sturdy frame looked out over the docks and at the boats, in an almost searching manner. His steely blue eyes were narrowed and scanning each boat and their name and where they came from. His expression was of rage and anger. With each boat his sight glanced across that did not match what he was searching for his face gew more and more gnarled as he began curling his lip in anger.
"Where the hell did those damn Maggots get off to!?" the small dog shouted across the harbor "This is mutany! Abandoning their Major full knowing i was alive and right next to them!" He reached the nearest item and shreded it veroutiously. His rage definatly evidant.

Desoto was being entertained by two seagulls that were stuck in fishing net. They were squawking in fear and it almost made Desoto feel bad for them. His attention then turned to his right, where a where a small dog had opened up a box from his crew’s shipment and was tearing up its contents, which seemed to be a quilted blanket. “Excuse me, but that box belongs to me, Kindly stop shredding it.” Desoto was always the one to be well mannered around pesky intruders. “If you continue I will be forced to confront you in a different manner.” Desoto was hinting that he would hurt him, but in the politest way possible, of course.
His siblings on the other hand were not so polite. “What are you doing Desoto? Go ahead and bite the little rat.” Svetlana told him.
“I’d rather not, thanks for the advice though Svet,” was Desoto’s reply. When Svetlana got up to do so herself, Desoto stood and walked in her path. “Give him a chance to stop at least?” he asked, knowing that soon she would get violent without even stopping to think. He then turned back to the small dog, still blocking his sister from him. Marcus on the other hand hadn’t even noticed that anything was going on at all. He was fast asleep. Desoto confronted the dog once more, “please step away from the shipment, my good man. Its not for you to wreck.”

Grunt huffed as he spat the last bit back into the box. He noted how large the others were, but they did not intimidate him; he's delt with worse than a few massive pet-dogs. He looked to Desoto, then his sister with a glare.
"i appologize sir, i needed an outlet for my rage. I did not realize that this belonged to you."
The small aussie colored corgi mix sat down infront of the lot of them. His chest puffed out and his ears held high. His face was stern and unmoving. "I am Major Grunt, of the Military Unit. I am in search of the Naval Ship S.S. Alpine. Have you seen her recently?" He said with disicpline and consistancy. He chose to ignore the fae whom wanted to start a fight. This would have been fine by Grunt, for he fought several times, and in situations like this; being small was a big advantage.
((OMG im so sorry its so short...im brainfarting and im tired ^^; im really sorry))

After the smaller dog apologized Svetlana was a bit pissed. She had wanted some fun. Oh well. She went back to her post glaring at him, and then ignored him. That would show the rat. Desoto’s attention was still on the mutt though, and when he did speak his name Desoto politely replied, “good to meat you sir, my name is humbly Desoto. These are my siblings, Svetlana and Marcus. Our brother Ivan is out with the humans.” He listened as this military dog went on to speak of his ship. To Desoto’s surprise, he had seen it. “Actually Mr. Grunt, I have seen her. Not here though, out on the water about an hour before we made port. She was headed in the opposite direction I’m sorry to say.” One of Desoto's past times was reading the names of the passing boats, and now it was paying off.
(Its ok, mines short too. I can’t think of anything either!)

Grunt scoffed at the thought of his commrades deserting him after all and not looking for their Commander and Major. He glared out at the open sea with disgust and distate upon his muzzle. He snorted lightly and peered back to the much larger male whom stood infront of him.
"thank you kindly for your information, sir"
He replied sternly but with respect. He then glanced around in search of maybe another naval ship that could take him to this homeland. He was not from this region but from the americas. That's where he was trained and he knew thats where his master was. He had not forgotten the day that his platoon abanonded him and left him for dead.
