It was pitch as black in the cemetery, the timber could barely see more than a few feet ahead of her. She squinted her vision and realized the lack of light was probably because of the new moon, in other words no moon. She found her way between the crumbled tombs, rocks and weeds underneath a badly crooked tree. She lifted her gaze to sky and took in the scent of the night. Akree searched carefully the ground before her, weeds, cracked earth and worn out tombs.
The female let out a sigh, it felt so tiresome to be walking almost blindly through the night, still it could be worse. She stood up again and slid silently through the cemetery, dodging rock and weeds and the occasional cracked tomb. Her large form proved useful some times, but other it was just plain bothersome. Hoping to find some food on the barren land she lowered her head to catch the scents of the earth. She could make out the scent of mouse, fox, wolves and...she took a deep breath...cat?
The timber raised her head and looked around. But she sighted remembering she could barely make out anything in the night. She had almost never seen a cat, only those that humans had in there homes, never one in the wild. She snorted, she could use some company, just not in this darkness.

Not all light was gone from the world as Duo glared at a blinking star. This star was much bigger than the others, and it moved quickly over the sky. It was then that the black cat realized that this was no star. It was a firefly. A lightningbug. It took him a moment to recall what they were. He'd only ever seen those retched human children bounding after them and shouting their name, attempting to trap them in glass enclosures. What sick amusement did they get out of that? It was like what the humans had done to him! Did they do this to every living creature that wasn't big enough to put them in their place?
Still, thought the feline as he stood and followed the tiny glowing thing, it does look like fun. He had, after all, chased after his siblings' tails. How different was this? It wasn't like he was going to capture it. With that in mind, he crouched down, ready to spring upon this unfortunate being.
Once the firefly landed on what looked like a solid surface- a headstone, no doubt- Duo pounced. His front paws landed on the top of a tombstone and he was easily able to bring the rest of him up onto the rock. The firefly, however, did not wait for that. It automatically took off for its next landing spot.
Bright orange eyes glared at the shining light through the darkness. The firefly lingered in the air, daring the cat to come closer. Binx crouched again, ready to pounce. This time he wouldn't be so lucky. Hind legs pushed off from the rock as his front legs stretched forward to pin the little bug down.

The timber squinted at the darkness, not able to see very well, was her vision betraying her? She took a step closer, it couldn't be there was a shinning dot hovering around in mid-air. She blinked, seeing if it would go away, but it didn't. Curious, the wolf took a step closer to the shinning particle, keeping her head low. Her lips shaped into a smile and she looked curiously at the yellow dot a few feet away. She took yet another step closer to the dot, noticing it moved about, franticly.
Akree took a step back, what was wrong with it. She searched her memory for a similar animal, remembering the tiny bugs that shined brightly in the night, the fireflies. Looking around and seeing nothing, she decided to walk towards the firefly, its greenish light drawing her attention. Her tail wagged faintly behind her, she thought carefully of a probability of a cat around the area, but the animal would be probably far away, but still in the perimeter, after no one could see in this eternal darkness. Although a cat being around this area would probably try to get to know the place, wher to find mice to eat, where to get grass to chew on. She licked her maw at the thought of eating, but ignored it, set on chasing the tiny bug.
-"Okay, you little bug." she mumbbled to herself "Be prepeared for a chase." she said while licking her maw.
She took a few steps closer to the shining bug and watched as it dared her to creep closer. Ah, so it wanted her to chase it, probably bored out of its mind and think it could outwit her. She grinned, her teeth catching the faint light and she walked closer to it. Now she stood directly in front of it, it hovered before her eyes, then she caught a flash of orange and a scramble of claws. Ouch.

There was a disturbance in the air, but it was too late to stop. He was in mid-air now. Whatever he landed on would feel the pain from his claws. There was no turning back. He could always flip his tail and hit whatever was lurking in front of him broadside, but it was much more fun to cause pain if it was a living creature. Eyes narrowed as Duo tried to figure out what he was about to shred. It was no use. Not even he, a sharp-eyed cat, could have seen what was about to happen.
Claws dug into fur and skin. For this, he was thankful. He was glad it wasn't something completely solid- like a brick wall. However, he was unprepared for the angle of the landing and his head connected with something that felt like it could have been a brick wall, only covered in fur.
"YEOUCH!!!" he cried, his brain rattling inside his skull.
Duo thought the situation over in his head. He could jump off and run, but if this was a predator, it might be faster than he was. Better to hold on and risk being thrown off, but at least it would disorient the monster for a moment while he bolted for dear life. He dug his claws in, hoping to live through whatever the animal was going to do.
That was when he realized what he was clawing at. The smell was so strong that he was surprised he didn't catch it before. Wolf. Now he knew he was in trouble.

One second the female timber was starring at a nice little defenseless bug, the next she had claws digging into her muzzle. She was smashed in the head by might as well have been a furry branch, a heavy furry branch. She took a step back, dazed by the aerial attack. She was sure there was no tree above her, even so a branch doesn't have claws, of this she was sure.
-"YEOUCH!!!"
The yell took the timber by surprise and bucked in the same manner a horse or a deer would, trying to make the furry thing leave her eyesight, she couldn't see anything in front of her, but black. Then claws dug deeper into her muzzle and she gave a bark of pain. Now she was mad, she was going to get rid of the furry beast and get on with her sightless night. She growled as a threat to the mysterious furry branch-that-clawed-at-her-muzzle before she bucked again, an attempt to make the thing let her go. As she did this the scent hit her head on, the scent of a cat. Still it wouldn't let go, her muzzle suffering the price as the cat drew some blood.
-"Get of, I don't need a black cat covering my view. I can't already see beyond a feet or two before me." she said growling, though more in frustration than an attempt to scare the cat.
Seeing that the cat wouldn't react she bucked again, hard. The force of it would probably make the cat fly a few feet, well, at least she hoped. She landed with a hard thud on the ground as she fell back, eyes closed trying to avoid dust fly into them and just add to the situation. She opened one brown eye to notice she got rid of the furry lump, but somehow it worried her as it was nowhere to be found.
