The young female lay curled up in a tight ball, offering as the base of a pile of pups. They new family looked to all just be one large ball of fluff, though among them was Dana, John and their four pups, that were now nearly three weeks old.Ready or not, the Shepard mix, and the Canaan dog were parents now, and truth be told, once it happened, everything seemed worth it, and those doubts seemed to melt away, at least for the moment. These were their children, and they were greatly loved... That feeling, of being needed by another, simply looking into those innocent wondering eyes. One day they would learn the truths of the world, unable to remain shielded forever, but now they were young and carefree.
Today though, their world would be extended, as Dana and John were to allow the pups to venture outside of the small, once abandoned cavern, found off the beach. This place was the only world they had known up until now.
Small raven ears lifted, as J.D. yawned, blinking his nearly hidden, deep turquoise orbs. The pup shifted slightly as he leaned on his mother silently allowing himself to wake fully. Tired eyes peeked toward the entrance to the 'den', which seemed rather distant, and off limits after a few attempts to explore the outside world a bit too early... After a few moments, J.D. pulled to his paws, looking around his family quietly.
[Quick crap post, sorry guys]

ÜÜÜ John ÜÜÜ Silently, the Canaan Dog stood, pulling away from the sleeping group. He was careful not to wake or step on anyone as he carefully and methodically made his way to the rear of the cave. After moving away from his family, John slid down to his haunches. Turquoise eyes focused on the pile of pups and Dana. A frown upon his maw obviously displayed some of his unhappiness, despite the fact that his children had recently been born. He knew what it was, but refused to think about it. Dana. And Fox.
He remembered standing there, coldly, emptily in that wretched cemetery. John remembered peering through the fog, listening intently to what the pair was saying. And he remembered turning walking away, feeling nothing at all. Ever since that night, part of him, and part of his trust in Dana, seemed to have died. She had convinced him that there was nothing going on, but there was still some tell-tale uncertainty in him. And so, he studied all of them from the half-light that leaked into the den. He soon found himself thinking about it, as it had just occurred. But, he was soon brought back to the dank cave by the movement of his children.
ÕÕÕ Faith ÕÕÕ The young pup, mainly white and tan in color, approached her brother, in that usually I’m-better-than-you prance of hers. Her happiness was rather obvious as it was displayed in her stance and large smile. She stood confidently, as always, by J.D. Faith said nothing, knowing that he usually wasn’t that talkative, unlike her. The pup just stared straight at the entrance, hoping that when they walked out, that they weren’t pulled back into the den. There were six of them and it always seemed crowded to the whelp, who, more than anything, wished to be free. Free of this dark hole and free of her parents constantly telling her what to do. This would happen, but not the way she hoped it would…
[ooc; Sorry, not the best post. Ignore the stupid symbols. I got bored.]

Aricin had been fast asleep between his mommy's arms. His body bigger than most of the other pup's was laying limp between her legs, on his back and his legs sprawled out as his tongue lolled out of his mouth and he snored deeply.
His paws jerked as he bared his teeth and growled, yipping some in his dreams. He barked loudly and woke himself as he spazed and jumped to his feet looking around with big eyes before yawning and sitting on his haunches. He shook his head and pelt and looked up at his mother as he smiled wide. Giving her a big toothy grin as his tail patted the ground rapidly.

Zaria shifted a little in her sleep. She could feel the presence of her father move around the cave. His warmth was gone and she felt a little cold. She had been sprawled over her fathers foreleg and even though he tried his best not to disturb anyone, she was disturbed and gave a little grunt as she rolled over, leaning now against her mothers hind leg. She nuzzled her nose and then snuggled close giving a soft, contented smile.
However curiousty as to where her father went got the better of her. Little eye lids flickered open and she gave a long, wide yawn. Her gumsy mouth was coated with a thin layer of saliva that dribbled along her lips. A light gurgle, and she flicked her tail around her side. The barking of Aricin caused Zaria to turn attention to him. Her head rolled onto her shoulder and she eyed him curiously and wagged her tail.
Faintly outlined by the light shining in through the cave entrance was the figure of John, her daddy and she gave a feeble yip to him. She attempted to get to her feet but dropped back down onto her stomach and gave a slight whine and licked her nose. The fur on her head stuck up almost like a mohican and her appearance looked generally all fluffy and warm. Another soft whimper and then she leaned her head onto her mummys leg again.

Ears flicked forward, and twitched, as soft turquoise eyes slowly opened in reaction to Aricin's nightmare. Dana gave a wide yawn, and looked down at her son, with a blank expression, before she allowed a warm smile to cross her lips. Drawing Aricin closer, she licked his head tenderly, as she looked around her, to spot each of her children. Pausing, eyes lifted, and the Shepard mix, turned her head to look down to Zaria, hearing her whimper, she wrapped her tail around her child, giving her comfort for the moment. Her gaze then moving up, reaching John slowly. Dana simply sighed as she did this shaking her head slightly, and looking back to Faith and J.D., though more or less just so she could settle her attention elsewhere, her heart aching each time she saw her love like that.
The pup shifted, and gave a light smile to his sister, shaking his head thoroughly, in an attempt to reveal his hidden eyes. J.D. blinked, staring to Aricin, before shrugging, just glad their brother hadn't decided to have a morning fight to break in the day. Turning to Faith, a tanned paw lifted, and plopped on her head, simply, as he grinned to her, though saying nothing at all, as he tried to tease his sister.

John The soft yipping of Zaria was what finally caused John to move from his dark spot in the back of den. A frown still drawn upon his features, he stood and took a look around their ‘home’. After a check to make sure that everyone was in the cave, which he found himself doing frequently, he walked towards Zaria. Once he had reached her, his head dropped down and he nuzzled her lovingly. His frown became a slightly less noticeable, but it was still there, unfortunately. Then, he moved closer to Aricin and Dana. His turquoise eyes softened as he watched his largest of his children. He said nothing to his mate, having seen the Shepherd sigh and shake her head after spotting him.
Faith Faith was gazing out through the dusty light, imagining what was in store for her and her siblings once they left this dank place. A light squeak was released from the small pup as her brother’s paw was suddenly placed on her head. With surprising speed, she pulled herself out from under it. Then, she pounced on her sibling with a gleeful bark, her smile becoming all the more wider. The tiny pup loved playing with her siblings, especially J.D.

As the plush tail of her mother blanketed her, she snuggled under the warmth and shut her eyes. It was so cozy in this cave because she got to cuddle close to the ones she loved. Zaira chose to ignore the sounds made by her brothers and sisters because she was still very tired and not really in the mood for playing games, if any of them had that intention in mind of course. Licking her lips, she rolled onto her back, placed her front paws over her mums tail and yawned. She looked like a young person sleeping with their covers pulled up close to their chin.
The light that shone from the cave entrance dimmed, and she wondered why and opened her eyes to be greeted with her fathers nuzzle. Smiling, she licked his tender nose and watched him with great happyness as he then went to her mother. He had such a beatiful pelt. But Zaira wanted all the attention for herself and began to whimper loudly for her daddy, even if it as unfair to the others. Shaking her head she resigned to curling under her mothers tail and there she lay, drifting back into a little sleep after loosing interest in gaining attention as quickly as she had.
