"John... I wish there was some way I could change your mind... but even I can't do that..."

John turned away yet again. He saw the pain in her eyes because she knew of his reluctance. He was also able to tell that his hesitation seemed to tear her happiness to pieces. He knew that this, more than almost anything was what she wanted. But he was here, constantly dragging her down because he refused to believe, or even have hope. The Canaan Dog was surprised that she could still love him. But love made people to crazy things.

“No one can.” There was much pain in his gruff voice as he spoke this cold, hard truth. Neither of them could deny it, though. That pain wouldn’t go away. And neither would the fact that John believed that one of their pups would end up just like their half-brother. Nothing ever could or would be able to…

Taking a deep breath, Dana growled at herself. This wasn't how things should be... They were going to have a family, and fear or not, they were going to have to raise their children to the best of their ability... Turning so that the two had their backs to one another. The Shepard stared at the ground, for a moment, before closing her eyes, to think silently. Were these mood swings, or just coming to realization, and trying to keep herself, and possibly John strong? That question needed not an answer, because Dana didn't care, as she was now determined to stay standing, and not fall back, for all of them, the pups, her love, and her.

"I know John. I love you, I am still willing to give anything to keep you by my side... The same goes for them."

She turned, against the wind once more, as she stood in a hard position. Her turquoise eyes seemed to darkened a shade with her current thoughts and mood.

"Don't let it split us apart. I don't need to lose anyone else because of fears... Look I know your afraid, I know that nothing can change that, but just try, for me... To at least keep up with me... If anything at all, I have you, I need you, and for once... Please just admit it, you need me just as much, if not more now..."

Dana wasn't going to let go... Couldn't let this heal it's self or lets it all just cool over. It wasn't going to happen, and she knew from experience. John was her friend, the love of her life, and the father of her unborn pups, it had made her stronger, and damn it, now it was his turn. Dana didn't care what it would take, this just couldn't end the way so many relationships in her life had before...

She had lost her best friend in the world before John came along, and she didn't even know that there was something wrong... He up and left her alone, and she couldn't handle that again, this situation was different now, she was carrying his pups, and this was her mate... They were supposed to be together through the end, and would never allow some over blown fears scare them away from each other.
