[haven't RPed in about ten thousand years lol]
It was peaceful here. The sands stretched like white wings towards the horizon, with the light breeze bringing refreshment while not transforming sand grains into tiny needles. With the skies a soft grey and the water following lead, there was not a single figure in sight to break the scenery, apart from two shadows who were seated on the pure shore.
Karleigh traced the last line of an undulating pattern in the sand, her finger resting in the final spot before being lifted up. No doubt the waves would come in and wash it away before long, but it was nice to marvel at it for awhile. Not that she was being proud and boastful, but it was nice to leave a mark on the timeless shore of Scatterstone. She crossed her arms over her knees and gazed out towards the ocean now, green eyes watching the horizon as if a ship might appear and whisk them away on an adventure to distant lands...
"Liam," she said suddenly, looking over to her brother and breaking off her own line of thought, "Where's Fain?"
It had been a long time since Liam had discovered he could 'communicate' with the dog at Rakine. Was it months? Or years? It was hard to keep track of time, and even harder to remember the very concept while on this beach. However much time had lapsed, though, it hadn't changed the fact that she was still so unused to 'talking' with the animal. Perhaps it would take another lifetime to understand it, especially as she couldn't hear the dog's thoughts herself -- only what she perceived in his body language and facial expressions.
Liam, however, just broke out into conversation, and Karleigh could never tell who had initiated it. Then again, she thought, He's the one who's being stared at in the street, and being branded as a schizophrenic. She grinned to herself, before shifting forward towards the slightly dampened strip of sand.
She began sculpting a chair. It was hard to tell with the overcast sky, but the gypsy knew that night would fall soon -- hopefully the clouds would clear enough for them to be able to watch the stars.
For now, though, she was stuck with her brother on a desolate beach, and she had to make the best of it.
