The haunting, low mournful howl of a distant male wolf rang in those enormous pierced ears. A slow sombre song of loss and longing; "Oh where are thou, my love? In our mutual absence, I burn for thee. Oh, my love please hear my call." A tale of two lovers torn from one another. As the song danced around the air, the large wolf stopped in her tracks and raised her large head to the moon, her eyebrows lowering into a disapproving frown. "Bah..." she spat, her voice dripping with disgust. "Males..." With a shake of her head and a flick of her mane, Dolly continued on her way, twigs and leaves crunching beneath her heavy footfalls. Her tail swished from side to side, flicking irritably from time to time as that pathetic howl hung in the air like a bad smell, only far more irritating. Presently, it became too much for her to bear and she stopped, her body shuddering with anger. She threw her head into the air and let out a loud, screaming howl. "Oh, you pitiful wretch! Will you never shut up!" she roared, frightening several birds out of their tree. She snarled bitterly and a dull ache filled her cranium, followed by a hot surge through her entire body. She shook herself down and burst into a sprint, a need to burn off all this hot, seering, angry energy. A determined and furious frown was set upon her brown as she pounded the earth relentlessly with those huge paws. "I'd give him something to cry about" she snarled under her breath, still hearing that awful song.
~You're so f*****g ugly, is it any wonder?~
"Shut up!" she barked, trying so hard to black out those demoralising voices. "Just be quiet, for once!" She ran and ran and ran for minutes until she became tired. Those long muscular legs could carry on for some time but never at full speed, Toxic Dolly flopped down on the floor with a heavy thud. When had everything gone so wrong? When had those voices set up home in her mind and started taunting her day and night? She sighed heavily and shook her head, there was no point in trying to figure it out... again. She took a deep breath and blocked out those miserable thoughts. Self pity was for the weak and she certainly wasn't about to succumb to weakness again, she was a new wolf now and all those things in the past didn't matter anymore.
Right now she just needed something to do. If only that damn male would stop howling! She raised that large, scarred head to the moon once more, feeling the crisp midnight breeze caress her face and sweep through her mane.
~It's no use looking to her, she can't tell you anything~
"Oh, do be quiet..."

"Oh, do be quiet..."
"Please do, some of us are trying to sleep." a slightly irksome voice barked out tiredly from the underbrush, just off the pass, and out of sight. "The least I need is you caterwauling as well."
With a large yawn a yellow hybrid stretched out, shaking himself, he wasn't very tall, but so shaggy and fluffy that it was hard to make out exactly how big he was. Ulixes eyed the female over with a sneer, which couldn't be helped, since his face seemed stuck with it, a nasty scar over his left lip. "You know, some creatures try to keep a stable sleeping schedule...amazing I know...but it tends to do wonders for...the mind." He smirked, his voice dripping with sarcasm having heard Dolly ranting like a lunatic, he was only left to assume that she was one.
And he would have been right, wouldn't have he?
To Ulixes, all there was to life was being correct. No. Matter. What. But that was neither here nor there. The male cracked his neck and sighed, looking up at the wolf silhouetted in the distance. "No chance he's your paramour is he? He's been at it for some time...if he happens to be, please seek him out...he's been a hell of a bother, and I'm dead sick of hearing him whining like some unweaned pup."
With that he plopped down on his haunches, his face tirst and rather persnickety about this whole ordeal, his haggardly bloodshot eyes looking between the she-wolf, and the howling he-wolf, as though expecting an answer from Purple McCrazypants...

As she lay, staring aimlessly into the ivory glow of the moon, a voice came from somewhere nearby. A male voice and it was complaining, a hint of sarcasm rolling through it. Dolly shuddered, she had no time for male wolves, they were all the bloody same. Hypocritical, narcissistic pains in the rear. As the yellow canine revealed himself, the look of absent minded contentment vanished from Dolly's purple brow and she frowned disapprovingly. The short, slim male looked down on her, a scar on his face making it appear as though he was sneering at her.
~Get up! Kick his ass! Don't just lie here!~
She shook her head, she wasn't going to listen to those annoying, niggling voices this time, she'd heard quite enough from her mind for now. She glared at the male, the frown still set upon her face. She would get up and face him but she couldn't be bothered right now.
"You know, some creatures try to keep a stable sleeping schedule...amazing I know...but it tends to do wonders for...the mind." He sneered, now standing before her.
"Cheeky bastard..." she muttered, under her breath. What an impudent little swine she thought silently, before her thoughts were interrupted by that dreadful howling in the distance. That bloody wolf was still singing after his tart but singing about how long it'd been since he last saw her this time. Bloody fool, I bet she's gone off with someone else, it'd serve him right she thought again.
The yellow one stood before her cracked his neck loudly and sighed, looking at Dolly with his bloodshot eyes then he turned to the other wolf in the distance, just a silhouette in the moonlight. "No chance he's your paramour is he? He's been at it for some time...if he happens to be, please seek him out...he's been a hell of a bother, and I'm dead sick of hearing him whining like some unweaned pup." he said, his voice sounding irritable as he sat down. "I beg your pardon!?" came the swift and disgusted reply from Dolly.
~Thats it! Get angry! Come on!!~
"How may you have the audacity to suggest that I would waste my time on a retard like that!?" she barked, feeling most offended. "You really are a cocky git, you know..." she added, trailing off into a series of incoherent mutterings as she instructed her mind to butt out, this was none of it's business. She turned her head briefly to the howling idiot in the distance and then again to the yellow mutt. "Who exactly are you?" she asked, her voice gruff and the frown on her face deepening.

"How may you have the audacity to suggest that I would waste my time on a retard like that!? You really are a cocky git, you know."
Ulixes nodded in agreement, he had no reason to argue his status of being a cocky fellow, however, a git demeaned some lack of intelligence, which he had not. But he assumed she didn't know she was in the presence of greatness.
But as cheeky as Dolly found the young grimacing male, she hadn't seen anything yet. He yawned and then shook his head as though falling asleep from her inane mutterings, and then seemed shocked to see her.
"Ah...wut? You done now? Ooooh....right, that. Well, I didn't say that you were wasting time with him. I was simply stating he appears to mourn some sort of...love...thing, and if you were, could you please go shut him the @$#& up...one way or another." He groaned, he couldn't stand overly sensitive creatures who seemed to take everything personally, male or female, and this certain female seemed to be quite touchy...
"Who exactly are you?"
With a smirk that looked utterly ghastly against his marred maw, he shrugged. "No one, anyone...everyone...god perhaps...anyways already whatever I say will be replaced by anything you think about me...so its of no real consequence." He started lazily itching behind his ear with his back foot, looking up at the wolf howling.
"Whoever it is...I hope they don't come back...whiny bastard spends more time crying about them than looking for them...It'd serve him right." He shook his head and slowly began picking his teeth with his tongue.

The frown upon Dolly's face lightened a little and she raised her a scarred eyebrow at the yellow hybrid canine as she went on to confuse her in reply to her earlier question. "No one, anyone...everyone...god perhaps...anyways already whatever I say will be replaced by anything you think about me...so its of no real consequence." he said, before raising his paw to his head and fleffing at his ear. Dolly, whilst not unintelligent couldn't make head nor tail of what he was saying, all she gathered is that he didn't seem too bothered about what she thought of him. Good... she thought, eyeballing him. "Whoever it is...I hope they don't come back...whiny bastard spends more time crying about them than looking for them...It'd serve him right."[/i] he added, glaring at the howling moron in the distance and licking his teeth. Dolly chuckled to herself, she agreed with him, if the pining male was so bothered about his "loved one" then surely he'd get up off his butt and go look for them, right? She sighed and awkwardly came to her feet, her large, cumbersome frame wobbling a little as she did so. She shook her body, sending the fragments of crushed leaves fluttering down from her ragged pelt to the ground.
"You're right." she yawned, stretching her legs out before her, haunches shuddering as she did so. "I dunno how much longer I can stand his wailing." she said bluntly, casting another of her disapproving stares over to the horizon.
"Oh dearest, my heart burns for thee, I ache to once more feel your tender touch. I long to lay once more by your side, I miss you. Your delicate feminine musk, your deep ocean eyes. Oh, my love, please come by me." sang the distant wolf, much to Dolly's annoyance.
"He really don't know anything about females" she muttered, her face once more contorting into disgust.
(Ooc : Sorry it took so long!)

"He really don't know anything about females"
Ulixes shrugged, "What's that got to do with anything? You can be socially inept no matter what gender you're talking about...as a male...I would find said statement equally eerie." this female seemed to have something about gender differences he just found...dodgy at best. The hybrid shook his head and laughed.
"Don't care much for the male persuasion do you?" It seemed obvious enough, which made him smirk "i mean, please don't indulge me the whys and hows, i really couldn't care less...its just something I've noticed..."
He just didn't understand it,honestly, it was so much easier just to hate everyone on principle....

This cocky hybrid stood nearby laughed, shaking his fluffy, scarred head. "Don't care much for the male persuasion do you?" he added in a somewhat blunt manner. Dolly glared at him as he stated the obvious, her bad eye blurring his outline slightly, making him look larger than he probably was. He continued speaking but she wasn't really listening, she couldn't concentrate when she couldn't see who she was speaking to. She closed her scarred eye for a second and turned her head a little so she could examine him with her good eye. He looks almost as abhorrent as I do she thought to herself, with a humph. She reopened her eye and sighed quietly, pointing her muzzle back towards the male. Her head filled once more with a terrible ache and a seering heat burnt through her large body, she felt as though she needed to be sick.
~ Come on, enough chit chat, kill the smarmy bastard!~
Dolly's body shook with rage as her mind resumed shouting at her and she squeezed her eyes shut. The awful caterwauling of the lonely wolf in he distance rang in her ears again. "Excuse me a second..." she muttered to the hybrid. She shook herself, her large ears batting the side of her head, her green mane dancing before her eyes and her tail whirling round making circles. She stamped her heavy paws on the ground and threw her head back, nose pointed to the air and screamed. "Both of you! Shut the F**K up!" she shouted. She lowered her head and directed her attention to the angry voices in her head. "I mean it, you. I'm not listening now, just bloody be quiet." She was totally not in the mood for these voices now, not that she ever really enjoyed her time with them but she hadn't the patience today. She'd failed that hunt earlier, been rained on, fought off that dog earlier and now her twisted mind wanted a go. She wasn't going to put up with it now.
She took a deep breath and regained her composure. She turned to face the yellow hybrid again and she smiled, a big toothy grin. Smiling wasn't her strong point. "No, I don't particularly care for the opposite sex, then again I don't care for anyone else in particular anyway, be they male, female or both..." she said, nodding. She plopped down into a sit, her haunches slamming the ground heavily and she curled her tail around her as she sat almost like a cat only... uglier...

"Excuse me a second..."
"By all means." Ulixes gestured his paw as to allow the female to continue and seemed unparsed by Dolly's display, he spent the time to groom his nails.
When she was finished he shook his head, with a bit of a smirk, and still that sneer he couldn't quite shake. "That's fair, can't say that I do well with anyone myself...if its not ugly, that...so called cockiness seems to do the trick." he winked, and then stretched out some laying down to relax, after all, she did wake him up.
"Then again...I'm sure a lady like yourself certainly understands my plight." he looked Dolly up and down, not meaning any disrespect, but surly not showing any pity.

As Dolly sat, feeling a distant, minuscule pang of embarrassment about her outburst, the yellow male once more gave her that smirk, she raised her eyebrow to him in response. "That's fair, can't say that I do well with anyone myself...if its not ugly, that...so called cockiness seems to do the trick."[/i] he said in reply to her earlier statement and he stretched his paws out, lying down. His calm and relaxed manner was making Dolly feel sleepy herself. "Then again...I'm sure a lady like yourself certainly understands my plight."[/i] he added, looking her down.
"Indeed." she replied, her soft feminine voice in stark contrast to her ragged, masculine appearance. She batted her large, pierced ears as an insect of some description landed just inside of them. Bah, insects... she thought as it proceeded to bite the inside of her ears angrily. She lifted an enormous hind paw and scratched at her ear, shooing the bug away, she could swear she heard it giggle as it left. She looked at him once more and suddenly realised that, now that the voices had been silenced, she no longer felt to urge to tear him to shreds. An odd, neutral attitude presented itself, which took Dolly quite by surprise. "Though, right now I find myself not completely despising you." she added, once more raising that battered eyebrow, though more to herself this time. "Strange."

"Though, right now I find myself not completely despising you."
"Well, thanks for that." Ulixes bobbed his head some and yawned, smacking his jaws as he blinked some sleep out of his eyes, finally he was waking up a bit better. "I just am not he biggest fan of being torn limb by limb...you could imagine why. It would just generally be unpleasant." From the looks of it, someone probably tried before.
"Pardon me saying...So where are you moving off to? Plenty of packs that would take a wolf like you..." Presumptuous, perhaps, but no wolf was ever lone on purpose...and he assumed that Dolly was just between packs. Given the climate, she'd probably have her pick. The hybrid seemed introspective, had he been one or the other, perhaps he'd have had a choice too.

Dolly looked at the other canine, studying his scarred muzzle, his fluffy fur and of course his blood shot eyes. He certainly looked as though he'd lost a fight of some sort at some point, not that Dolly was concerned or particularly interested, she had a subconscious tendency to compare her own appearance to that of others. "Pardon me saying...So where are you moving off to? Plenty of packs that would take a wolf like you..."[/i] he said, still looking tired. She couldn't work this one out, he was certainly a clever mutt, well spoken yet just as sarcastic as herself but there was a politeness about him. She'd never met a polite male anything before, it was a new and bizarre situation. She shook her purple head and pondered the question put to her. Where was she headed? She definately needed a pack, she was going nowhere fast taking advice from herself. She needed order, discipline and someone to look up to. She'd heard of packs around the area but just one name had been the most prominent. Nightshade... She hadn't a clue what that meant, whether it was a place, an object, another wolf of indeed the name of a pack. Perhaps the yellow thing knew?
"I'm lookin' for a pack, I dunno where to go to find one though." she said, pausing to clear her throat. "Hey, Yellow, what's Nightshade mean? I've heard it around but I dunno what it is..." she added, somewhat sheepishly.

"Family Solanaceae, a family of poisonous flowering plants..." Ulixes hummed, stating what he mostly knew about nightshades, "I mean...that's what comes up right off the top of my head. " The hybrid smirked toothily, his upturned lip pulling back further in the process.
"However, there is an extremely severe wolf pack, not far from here that has an Alpha by the name of Nightshade...Sallin, southwest from here..." It was rare to be a dog or wolf hybrid without hearing stories about the terrible Sallin, a honest to truth scary story of a place. He looked her up and down. "but you better be pure wolf if you're thinking of sniffing around there..." he wasn't swiftest on the uptake on the breeding of other canines...but that was mostly due to his apathy...Dolly could have been half llama, and so long as she looked wolf enough...she was wolf to him...but he assumed that the Sallin alpha would care enough to know better.
