Krystal caught a rather large hare, easy catch, but in this cold almost anything is needed. Cold wind blew in her face, her fur which had grown longer to adjust with the cold kept her warm. She remembered her first few nights, shivering, unused to the cold. She was glad that she had grown used to it as easily as she did. She stopped by a creek, which was frozen over. She set her catch down and put her paw on the ice, it broke quickly. She crouched by the water and began lapping the water eagerly. Krystal paused, looking up, then continued. She would take her catch to the Alphas, hoping to get on their good side. She did not want to live in agony because she started on the wrong foot, one of them already considered her weak, but strong enough to be a member. I'm not trying to become Beta, I just want to show them they won't be sorry about accepting me. . . She thought to herself. Maybe they'll allow me to be a huntress, or a sentry, I feel a little useless just being a member. I can help out anyway, it just feels better to know exactly what I'm suposed to do.
Krystal picked up the hare, feeling a little refreshed, she still had to get used to the cold water, but it wasn't a problem. She began to carry the hare homeward when she realized that there was a dead deer laying between two trees. She lay the hare down. Her instincts telling her to take it, but her logic denying it. First she began sniffing it, seeing if she could find out what killed it. There were no cuts, or scents of disease. She looked around, shivering from the erie feeling. She could see nothing wrong with it. She nudged it with her nose, the scent of death reeked in her nose. She jumped back, something was wrong with it, but she could figure out what. She lost her appite and wondered if she should leave the hare behind and race homeward. No, that would be foolish, the pack needed food. She looked around again, hoping to see someone nearby, she blinked, it was begining to snow again. . .

Sofika had been watching one of her wolves, Krystal for a few moments only. She had not seen her catch the hare that dangled from her jaws, and so knew not how long it took her to obtain it, or how she obtained it. Sighing, the Alphess continued to watch as the she wolf pondered in her thoughts, and she was lost in her own. Karolek, had been busy as of late, and not many of the pack members were yet to be acquainted with him.
Krystal was walking in a somewhat large ditch and the Alpha, going unnoticed, went by her side atop the side on her left. The she wolf with the hare in her maw stopped to look at a fallen deer. Sofika shook her head and growled quietly beneath her breath. Shaking herself, the leaped from the side of the 'ditch' and landed softly on the snow. Fur bristling, tail raised she wandered to the deer, saying nothing to Krystal and sniffed at it. Not a glance was thrown at the female as she placed her kill down.
" I know you killed not this deer Krystal, however you should know that I am not pleased with the sight of this. "
Sofika turned her attention to Krystal then moved away from the animal. Sofika doubted there was a thing wrong with the dead deer despite the belief of Krystal. A smirk rolled on her lips and she thought for a moment before speaking. Sofika was unaware that Krystal had the intention of taking the hare to her.
" What would you propose is done with this carcass? Should we leave it here, or, take it to feed those who are hungry? There appears to be nothing wrong with it, so do not look so worried. "

" I know you killed not this deer Krystal, however you should know that I am not pleased with the sight of this. "
Krystal looked slightly guilty, sadden she had made the wrong decision. She bowed her head, hoping she had not made such a bad mistake.
" What would you propose is done with this carcass? Should we leave it here, or, take it to feed those who are hungry? There appears to be nothing wrong with it, so do not look so worried. "
She looked up, laying the hare down so she could talk, suddenly feeling stupid that she had ever been afraid to take prey to the camp. She looked at her Alpha in the eye. "I'm sorry, where I used to live there was a disease that broke out and killed the prey, anyone who ate died as well. . ." She shook her head, realizing this had nothing to do with the moment on hand, she had to tell the Alpha what she was going to do. "I was going to take this hare to you, then ask about the deer. I should have known how stupid that was. . ."
Inside she was cursing herself, wishing she had been a little smarter when she saw the deer. She glanced at the deer, nothing seemed wrong, it could have died of cold or age, she wished that she could have brought this back to the pack to make it look like she had any brains at all. . . but then if it did have a disease, it could have cause much more problems then starvation. . .

Sofika rolled her head onto her shoulders as Krystal spoke. Why she looked so sad and guilty she had not a clue. She had done nothing wrong except make sure that the deer was not diseased. Of course, had it had a disease, and she brought it back, like the subordiante suspected, more problems would have arose, but seeing as she had not touched it, well she had proven herself to be smarter than would she deemed herself. The midnight black pelted wolf sighed and licked his lips.
Krystal had not been able to look her in the eye due to a tuft of fur that covered both orbs like a veil. The Alphess could care little for what happened to the pack she had formely been in, but, she understood the sadness that Krystal was feeling but said nothing. Giving a light snort, she moved forward, placing a paw on the deer. Her tail bristled behind her and she hopped over the dead beast. Cold. It had seemingly died due to the cold. Starvation, most probably not, because it was rather fat.
"I was going to take this hare to you, then ask about the deer. I should have known how stupid that was. . ."
The female would not have been able to drag the deer to Sofika. It looked much to heavy for her, and also, Sofika was constantly on the move, so how would she know were to go? None of the members knew were her den was, nor Karoleks. But brushing off that thought, the Alphess looked to the hare at her feet and leaned down to sniff it, like she would normally when presented with a kill. Her tongue caressed over the carcass but she did not pick it up yet, she had more to say.
" I am glad that you were going to report this carcass to me, however if you had, you may have caught any disease that it may have carried. Also, you would not have been able to find me. No worries however. "
" This is a fairly popular place within the territory. Many pass by here, and so I think that the carcass should be left here, incase anyone comes across it whilst looking for food. "
" I appreciate you bringing this hare to me, but if you are hungry, you should eat it. If not, I will take it, and eat it later for I at the moment am not hungry. "

Krystal's stomach growled but it wasn't audible, she was glad that the Alpha understood why she was cautious, but felt a little embarrassed. "I'm not hungry. . ." she said, "But I'm sure there is someone else that is. . ." She watched the female Alpha, wondering what her thoughts where, but she did not question aloud, she dipped her head. "I'm sorry, I'm still getting used to this pack. . ." she said honestly. "I should probably continue hunting. . ." She broke off, feeling uncomfortable, wishing she could act a little stronger around her Alpha. Krystal's ears perked to the side, her nose catching the scent of prey, she looked at her Alpha, then flashed past the brush, came back with a sparrow in her mouth. "If you would, take this to your mate." she said, laying the sparrow down. "Unless you'd rather me take it to the pack so they could eat it. . ?"

Sofika stared blankly at the female as she nervously eyed the dead animal that lay in her wake. Sighing, she looked away as Krystal spoke of not being hungry, and assuring herself that no doubt someone else was. Sofika had to get going shortly. Watching the deer, she wondered if any member of the pack would come along this path and strike it lucky with an easy meal. When Krystal dipper her head, Sofika raised hers slightly and bristled her fur, looking down at the subordinate through shielded eyes.
I'm sorry, I'm still getting used to this pack. . .
The Alphess said nothing to this, because as soon as she had spoken, the other female had literally dived into the bush straight away, giving her no opportunity to react. Not that she was going to. What was there to say to her? She appeared rather intimidated at the moment with the presence of Sofika, and she had noticed. Why was the majority of the pack feeling uneasy when she was around? Rolling her shoulders, she did not answer the rhetorical question that she had just thought of; she knew the answer to that one.
When the subordinate emerged from the bushes, Sofika flicked her ears as she lay down her catch and told of taking the bird to 'her mate' or she would take it to the pack. Sofika, she had no mate. No. But obviously the female was referring to her brother. This angered Sofika slightly however it would not show nor could it be sensed by the subordinate, because she was too sly and careful to present any apparent emotion unless she really wanted to.
" Krystal. You take the bird and you eat it for I know you are hungry. Let me tell you this; the wolf that accepted you into this pack is not my mate but my sibling, Karolek. He is your Alpha and as am I. Do not mistake us for being mates again. Understood? " she snapped, however not in a harsh tone. Sofika, she felt that she had to take a leave now, however she remained standing with her head high and her tail bristled for a final response from the wolf before she would depart.

Krystal nodded quickly, clearly angered with herself that she had confused that detail. "Oh, I'm sorry." her tone was interested, "Most packs choose mates to lead." Krystal shook her head slightly, regretting the fact that she had made that error. She looked at her Alpha. "I guess I've got a lot to learn about this place. . ." she said to her, feeling like a cub, well, she was young, but not a cub. . .
Krystal looked at her catch, she would spend the rest of the day hunting, just because she spent her first few days a little confused. She looked at her Alpha, regarding the fact that she might have more important things to do than make friends with her.

Krystal was odd. Embarrassment, would be the expected reaction to getting such information wrong not anger. Most were angry when others done something wrong, or hurtful, or mean to them. One incident, to the Alphess' recollection, was when two of the wolves were hunting, and were anxiously awaiting an opportunity to snag the prey. A third wolf had come that day, scared the critter off. In the end, that wolf who had disturbed the hunt captured the animal. That, would make someone angry. But to be embarrassed, one had to make a fool of oneself. That, was what Krystal had just done.
She certainly did have a lot to learn about this place. Perhaps if she made an effort to meet the other pack members, then she could learn off of them, or at least, feel somewhat more welcome than she appeared. Then again, the mistake that she just made there, well, hopefully she would learn from that and never mistake the two Alphas as mates. And how she stereotyped wolf packs annoyed the Alphess to no end. She was an Alpha, and so she must be mated? Sofika snorted at the subordinate.
" Are you questioning the way in which Arnlan runs? Because this is a pack of wolves, then the Alphas 'must be a mated pair'? Don't be so stereotypical. " she spat, looking to Krystal now with an expressionless voice, so to confuse her. She would not know whether or not the Alphess was angry, understanding or annoyed.
" Be on your way, get out of my sight before I get really irritated with you Krystal. "

((sorry for bargin in like this)) Lucian, since the incident that happened with the Task that was given, had been wondering the Arnlan lands in search of his Alphess Sofika. He wanted to make it up to her any way he knew how. He figured that he was not as intelligent as she was, so a deep conversation to him was out of the question. The jet black wolf with a lime green patch of fur atop his head and mysterious white markings trotted across the mushy lands silently. He thought to himself as to how he would show her that he was truely sorry for what he did and that he still wanted to become a warrior of the Arnlan Pack, without making himself seem stupid as the previous encounter had made him out to be.
He lifted his large and muscular skull in the direction of the wind and took in a deep breath of the brisk air that melted into several different scents. He was able to pick up the familar scent of the Alphess Sofika, there was also a new scent that came to his olfactory senses. He didnt know if Sofika was in a brawl or if the new commer was a pack mate. He swiftly made his way to where the then whispers on the wind, now slight voices came from. He halted a few feet away and glanced both the females over with his vibrant lime green eyes. His tail was held in a somewhat intimidating manner as he stepped forth to the new commer to the pack. He made sure he was showing his full form to her, as big as he was. He glanced back at his Alphess and spoke in a calm manner as he tried to continue intimidating the other female. "Mistress Sofika, is this fae in any way harming you, or annoying you? If so, may i be of assistance to you?" He still held his tail rather high, but not enough to make it seem as though he was challenging Sofika. His teeth were lightly bared at the other female as he spoke to Sofika. "Mistress Sofika, if you are finished here and do not need my assistance, i would like to speak to you privatly, if you will permit me to do so." He looked back at the other fae and gave a low growl, then looked back at Sofika with a somewhat worried look in his eyes; but his stance was still clear and unmoving. He awaited his Alphess's response.

" Are you questioning the way in which Arnlan runs? Because this is a pack of wolves, then the Alphas 'must be a mated pair'? Don't be so stereotypical. " Sofika snapped " Be on your way, get out of my sight before I get really irritated with you Krystal. "
Krystal bowed her head, knowing she had made Sofika dislike her even more, it felt like she could do nothing right. No one had told her that Sofika and Karolek were siblings! Yet she should have figured this out before hand. It was because she had not known, she seemed stupid in front of Sofika, and weak in Karolek. Yet they still let her stay as a member, did not chase her off, nor made her an omega. She was about to turn away, obeying her Alpha, when Lucian came with a growl.
"Mistress Sofika, is this fae in any way harming you, or annoying you? If so, may i be of assistance to you?" He still held his tail rather high, but not enough to make it seem as though he was challenging Sofika. His teeth were lightly bared at the other female as he spoke to Sofika. "Mistress Sofika, if you are finished here and do not need my assistance, i would like to speak to you privatly, if you will permit me to do so."
If this was the kind of wolf Sofika liked, or treated with more respect, Krystal was very disappointed. She returned Lucian's growl, eyes glowering. Seemed everyone thought that they could walk over her. "Yes in fact we just finished conversing." her tone was cold. "I'll continue my hunt." Krystal bent over and picked up the hare and the sparrow, beginning to brush past Lucian.

Sofika heard Lucian approach and like before she took no notice of him, or at least, appeared not to. Sighing, she watched as Krystal bowed her head and turned attention to the male. It was then did she pivot on her spot and eye him carefully, as he spoke of taking care of the she wolf for her. Shaking her head, the Alphess watched as the female took her leave. Krystal did not appear a very dominant wolf. It seemed that she allowed others to walk over her, and not stand up for her own rights. Sofika sighed again and watched her brush past Lucian and continue her hunt as she had stated.
" Good bye Krystal. " she spoke firmly as the other departed from sight and the Alpha shook herself to relax herself somewhat. Flicking her ears, silence dawned over the two, and the twitching nose of the midnight black pelted one faced the green maned brute. Dipping her maw to her chest she inhaled slowly and exhaled slowly. " Yes Lucian, I will speak with you in private. If you would like to follow me. " she replied and made her way to wards the trees, in the opposite direction of the female. Sofika wanted to go elsewhere, away from here to speak with the subordinate.
The Alpha said nothing as she went, briskly weaving in between the dark looming trees. The branches seemed to grasp the shadows as it coiled around them with silence overhanging. Although, Arnlan was not as silent as it seemed, because the other residents of the territory, such as the rabbits were active. The slender female glanced over her shoulder now and then to make sure that Lucian was following, and if he came by her side, she would glance that way instead. The ground felt moist beneath her paws as they touched it, but she paid no heed as they approached the area where she had decided to take him.

As the smaller and lesser female brushed past him a low grumbling growl came from his uncurled lips, he did not even open his maw for her. His eyes narrowed to match hers as she brushed past him. In that instant he wanted to lash out at her for her actions against him and his alphess. He felt as though every insult inflicted upon Alphess Sofika, was one against him as well. He held himself back, his muscles twitching with rage. His tail lowered as Krystal left his sights. His attention then turned to his alphess as his ears fell limp upon their stations, then the midnight pelted female spoke to him. His ears perked to catch her full emotion in the words she spoke. He could hear, or more so sense, slight annoyance, and her usual emotionlessness."Yes, Mistress Sofika" His massive brute like form followed her swiftly for his size. He did not meet directly at her side. He had already insulted her enough for one day, he did not wish to be her equal yet, simply a suboritnate that would love to work as a worrior for his alphas.
