It had taken him until the upcoming summer to find a place where the canopy of trees above him broke, and Levy couldn't have been much happier to find a shaft of sunlight tickling into the dark lands of Arnlan threatening to whisk just a fraction of the land's shadow away.
The young male laid stretched out underneath it, with a serene smile on his face, the first he had in his new pack, some contentment, some familiarity...it was soothing really, just like when he had lived in the sunnier lands of Cedarburg.
Thinking of which shattered his illusions of nostalgia, there probably was no more Cedarburg, he had left when the lands had been devoid of other pack mates, and now Arnlan was, for better or worse, his home. It wasn't as though either pack treated him any differently, he was so utterly insignificant...a speck.
Levy sighed, looking up at the sun and then turning away, "You're never going to amount to anything." The short wolf looked around for a moment, startled until he noticed he was just talking to himself again...he hadn't done that since he was a pup, but he didn't fight it, he was bored, and lonely...if his pack thought he was crazy as well as crippled, so be it. "You're just a short, fat worthless lump...any pack you were in allowed you to stay because they felt sorry for you."
"Yea, don't you think I already know that?" Well that ended that conversation, after all it was hard to argue with yourself, especially when you were of one mind of things. Levy sighed, and to himself howled a low, quiet and somewhat mournful song...surprisingly, his voice was eerily beautiful...but there was no way to convince him of that, it wasn't exactly an gainful talent.
When he finished, the sun was starting to fade, no doubt slinking under some clouds, illogically the young wolf panicked, looking around for the light like he lost something so important, and after it seemed hopeless, he laid back down, covering his face with his paws.
