Name: Levy
Gender: Male
Species: Timber Wolf
Age: 3
Height: 1'5"
Weight: 65 lbs
Pack: Arnlan
Rank: Officer
Personality:
Levy has been down on himself for quite some time. He sees himself as too fat, lazy short...etc... There’s very little he sees that is good in himself. As a pup his other den mates made fun of him and that pecked enough doubt in himself that he just rips himself apart when he's left alone. He often seeks compliments or some sort of comfort from others. And is legitimately surprised when someone actually says something nice; he needs to work on that lack of ego he has.
He still can't help being a good person, no matter how futile it seems, even if he feels like he’s being looked down upon he would still do whatever he could to help his pack mates. He really is a hero in his own heart; it would only take the right moment for him to really shine. But for now he’s at least reasonable about the whole thing. It's all right and good to run off and be the hero. But a lot of heroes end up dead. And being dead doesn't really achieve much of anything...
He tries very hard to be the voice of reason among his peers, of course that doesn't guarantee that people will listen to him. Or that he can't be convinced to do the opposite of what his logic would dictate. But until his mind is changed he can be very vocal about how he feels. Really it just makes him sound like a big old stick in the mud; always protesting what he thinks might be a bad idea.
So Levy seems a bit cynical, he always has been, but now things are much worse. His unhappiness has colored his perception no matter what comes his way. Nothing good will stay that way, and usually he has nothing good to think or say about a situation or any form of a noun. Luckily he tries to look on the bright side when he opens his mouth; it’s just that he's never too surprised when the worse happens. He's a leery little creature. Looking around like everyone is either out to get him or any situation will. He doesn't often act like it right away, he usually behaves himself, but slowly yet surely his doubt sinks in. Nothing no matter how good it appears will stay that way for long. At least he thinks so, he worries himself into misery. He's constantly waiting for the other boot to drop. He doesn't necessarily think other people are trying to get him, rather he considers it could be some higher power. Yeah...that's about it. It's not really his fault. He's not his own worst enemy, there is no such thing as self fulfilling prophesies, nope not a bit...
Strengths: He can slip by, while not being invisible, Levy as found that other wolves tend to glance over those things that they don't want to see, and most pack mates aren't looking for Levy. And simply saying so, the young male has found out the way to abuse that ability to the fullest. He's always being over looked and forgotten about. It's not so terrible. Though he gets lonely from time to time, he's certainly one that has to look out for company.
Now fully grown, Levy's thick build has made him very muscle bound; he's surprisingly strong for his size, and for that matter, for any wolf.
Weaknesses: Levy has a crippling low self esteem; it's not something that can just be helped out with a compliment here and there. It can often escalate into ridiculous bouts of depression which can make it hard for him to live a day to day life.
He is also very speculative, anxious and prone to paranoia. When left alone with his thoughts, Levy tends to think of the very worst things he can think of. He's a perpetual worrywart and that can often slow him down, while this is technically a weakness, it does assure that Levy never jumps into a situation blindly, and always tends to have contingency plans.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
What qualities do they look for in a mate: Levy isn’t really too picky, he just wants someone he can keep company with, who wouldn’t look down on him just because he’s different.
Mate: None
Parents: Lanell (Father), Diane (Mother)
Offspring: None
Appearance: Levy isn't what one would call a tall fellow, but don't bring it up, his height is a touchy subject. To make matters worse with his thicker composition, he comes off a little stocky, maybe somewhat chubby the fact is he's little broader than usual. Levy while looking a bit dumpy, has an impressive musculature, and under that layer of fat there's quite a bit of raw power.
He isn't the sort that stands out in a crowd, but he has a very neat and clean cut look to him. His face is oval and his features are rounded and a tad on the lumpy side as though he had never really filled in right. Kind of a mix between an adult and a pup, as if he had never left that strange between stages of development. He sports a simple charcoal black coat which is darker along the back. Levy scoffs at the mere mention of black being a "slimming" color. He's still fat, no matter how much fur there is.
His eyes are deeply set and dark, a weird shade of blue, tending on the large side, and what with his almost droopy dark eyebrows it gives him a bit of that sad puppy dog look. But there's honesty to his features, pudgy cheeked and fluffy, His muzzle is short and almost pit bull-like, he tends to keep his mouth pursed giving him a sour expression most of the time.
History:
Levy was unsurprisingly the runt of the litter, often told that he'd get bigger as he got older. Though that never happened, when he was a young pup he was coddled by his parents, due to his small size and the imbalance of him playing with his siblings (getting beaten up was just something Levy got used to). He was far more comfortable with the adults of his old pack then he was with the pups, as the pups were often cruel towards him, calling him names and berating him for his frailness.
As he grew older he did get sturdier, but he didn't get much taller. In fact he grew out more rather than up. So it wasn't as though he was surprised, it seemed by the time the other pups had gotten older and grew bigger, well...he just grew used to disappointment. He grew even more used to avoiding his siblings and the other pups. Hoping and trying to stay out of notice. The more he stayed out of notice, the less he was picked on. Until eventually, some people almost forgot about the stunted pup that hid in the further reaches of Cedarburg. At least Levy was fortunate to live in lands where disappearance was on option...
Over time Cedarburg slipped into obscurity, eventually disbanding, Levy left after he became aware that his pack had left him behind, in an act of uncharacteristic bravado, he headed North West, following the stories of a legendary pack called Arnlan, where, if the stories could be believed was renowned for having wolves that could disappear into the woods themselves. Wolves that could disappear, like himself...he was certain that he could find himself a place in a pack like that.
Levy survived his journey, after countless fights and run-ins with strays and sentries of other packs, however, he almost had a change of heart when he made it to Arnlan, not because his bravery left him, but more his confidence faded, but still, he howled for the pack's attention. A strange black and blue female came to his call, all bluster and teeth, Levy quickly rolled over waiting for the she-wolf to snap his neck. However, death didn't come so quickly, instead, Levy was allowed to state his name and business to the alphess of Arnlan and either his words impressed Sofika, or she saw something worthwhile in the diminutive wolf...because he became a fully fledged member of the secretive pack.
Levy met his first friend in Arnlan, a young wolf his age named Ziko, the two complimented each other quite nicely, Ziko’s rebellious nature was tempered by Levy’s logic keeping the two out of trouble, while Ziko taught Levy to not take things so seriously. They were good friends, and common companions, but like a lot of good things, Levy didn’t get to keep friendship long.
Ziko disappeared along with some strange wolf when a Sentry named Nightblood took them on patrol outside of the pack territory. No one left Arnlan, was what Levy had always heard, and he assumed that the big bitch had killed his only friend, something that festered within the young male until it turned into resentment, and finally exploded. Finally approaching the female, Levy layed out his claims and finally cursed at the female until the two went their separate ways.
He couldn’t help but feel somewhat responsible when things went poorly for the former sentry, now Beta. His guilt for the loss of Ziko as well as the situation that Nightblood is in (even though not actually his fault) has taken the wind yet again out of Levy’s sails…he really does think that he’s some sort of unlucky wolf who’s mere existence has ruined the lives of countless creatures…the decimation of his first pack, the loss of his only friend, and even the poor fortune of his former enemy.
He has gone back to his secretive ways and has again become a shadow in the pack which he lives in, quietly keeping himself from ruining anyone else’s lives. Now much older than his pup or adolescent years it appears that Levy has become something of a reclusive dark heart his own sardonic nature and disfigurement making it hard for him to really connect with others.
Theme song:
Jonathan Coulton- Big Bad World One
All alone by the table of food in my wrinkled suit and my borrowed tie
Only thinking of something to say in the moment after the girl walks by
Everyone else is having fun or else pretending to
I eat another crudité
I quit, I'm done
Cause I don't think it's gonna turn out OK
It's no fair, it's no fun
If every time it's gonna end the same way:
Me zero
Big bad world one
At the office we're all having cake cause it's someone's birthday, I don't know who
Got my plate and I'm scanning the room and the only seat is right next to you
I get the nod, the tiny smile that doesn't come with teeth
Maybe you don't know who I am
I quit, I'm done
Cause I don't think it's gonna turn out OK
It's no fair, it's no fun
If every time it's gonna end the same way:
Me zero
Big bad world one
Staying inside, lying in bed
Noticing something that's not there
Follow my heart, follow my head
I'll follow anything that might get me somewhere
Catch her eye when she's pouring my coffee and search my head for an opening line
But I see by the look on her face if I keep my mouth shut I'll save some time
What if the best that I can be just isn't good enough?
Isn't it better not to know?
I quit, I'm done
Cause I don't think it's gonna turn out OK
It's no fair, it's no fun
If every time it's gonna end the same way:
