Here are some tips, even rules you might say, for role playing here at Kloteck Omen. Some of them are just common sense, others are things a lot of us might not have realized. If you are new to role playing, these tips should help to answer any questions you may have as well.
1. Creating characters with extreme magical powers that allow manipulation of others, as well as characters that have little or no flaws are considered godmodes. These are against the rules as well. Remember, a good character has an equal amount of flaws and talents.
2. Do not write like a kindergartner or use Internet speak (i.e. LOL, OMG, lyk 2 kewl u git wat im sying 2 u!11!!!1!). It is understandable if English is not your first language or if you have a medical condition that affects your writing, but we can tell if you are just being lazy. While this is not English class, please use the best language skills you are able to. Also, emoticons should not be used in RPs...your writing should reflect your character's mood, not a little GIF.
3. Like in real life, actions have consequences. If your character hits another character, expect your character to be hit back. If a thief strolls into a cop station and waves to everyone, they will be attacked in return. Common sense.
4. Just because another person's character does not like yours, it does not mean that they, as a real person, do not like you. Role play is not real life. That is why role plays are called in-character discussions. In other words, it's the characters who are talking and interacting in a sense, not their creators.
5. Try to stay away from one sentence posts. Get out a paragraph or two...three, even! Other members will be more likely to join in your thread if you prove you can write at least one descriptive paragraph.
