"I see. Well, we'll see if we can do something about that. And I do hope we can give them a good show." Mortil said, smiling slightly. "Zuka will probably be disappointed if we didn't. She's quite combative."
"Takes after her mother," NightBlood remarked through a muffled laugh.
The Beta was about to say more when her thoughts were interrupted by a small voice.
”Momma!”
Looking around, Blood was only able to see a tan blur through the corner of her eye before Tamara stopped near Mortil. She turned her head to get a better view of her daughter and saw that she looked as if she was on the verge of panic as she looked up at her uncle.
"Tamarah? What's wrong? And what're you going out here?"
Sensing her pup's fear toward Mortil (or perhaps his darker side), NightBlood stepped forward and lowered her head, giving the young female a warm lick to the forehead.
"It's alright, Tamara. Answer your uncle."
A sharp pain suddenly flared in the Beta's leg, making her bark in surprise. She looked down to see Dakarai, then Khenti, as they appeared out of no where.
"Mommy?"
"Dak, is everything alright?"
"I thought I told you all to stay at the den. What's going on?"

Tamarah rolled to her paws, drawing her ears back tight at the inquiry. But before she could respond, her siblings came bounding in. She forced herself not to feel upset that they'd also get Momma's attention now, instead of just waiting. They were getting this little sparring thing, too...
The little female sighed and dropped back on her haunches.... farther away from scary Uncle. "I'm sorry, Momma... I, um..." She paused, thinking over her reasons quickly... No, she wouldn't trouble her mother with her pathetic fears and uncomfortable moments. "I just wanted to see you." Yeah, that workd okay... right?
She glanced over at her den-mates, curious now as to why they had escaped the den, and why they'd hide from Momma like that. But they probably had their own reasons. For now, Tamarah stood slowly, trying to be as quiet as she could, and aimed to move back towards the den, tail partly tucked. Maybe she could find a time to talk to Momma later... when she wasn't so busy.

"I thought I told you all to stay at the den. What's going on?"
Mortil rolled his eyes. "Lack of discipline perhaps." He grinned at the pups. "Dak, Khenti! Come now, form up! Honestly, I would've thought you had better ways to sneak up on us."
He looked gently down at Tamara. "Honestly, I'm not going bite. You don't have to be afraid around me all the time."
He nudged Nightblood. "If you remember, we have an appointment to tango."

Covered in snow and shivering with cold Dakarai decided to sit down and hug his mother's warm leg. Shivering some bit as he rubbed his head, completely sure he was about to get a headache, not wanting one or liking the idea one bit. He settled for rubbing his head on the leg he had just brutally tackled, feeling a little dizzy with the whole ordeal. When he moved his head the world swirled before him, becoming splashes of colors instead of anything particularly fixed. He groaned and settled fro smacking his head once on his mother's leg.
Khenti however was deciding whether to glare of to laugh, his brilliant plan had been ruined. Of course things could be worse, but for all he knew this that was coming now was going to be embarrassing. He shook his head lightly as he wanted his bother huddle close to his mother's tackles leg. The whole situation seemed a bit comical in his point of view. At least, he wasn't the one with a headache.
"I thought I told you all to stay at the den. What's going on?" came NightBlood's voice and Khenti turned his attention towards her as he just been smacked. "Shhh" whispered Dakarai "Cun't let t'e oldar fvolves kno'." he said, sounding just like he felt, dizzy and confused. Khenti smiled, giving his brother a light lick on the muzzle before turning towards his mother for the awaited explanation. "Eh, long story." he said with a shrug, winking once towards Dakarai, who in turn burst into a fit of hysteric giggles. That was how nervous the pup was.
"Bwut f'ere 'eere now!" said Dakarai, feeling the need to help his brother in his careless explanation. "Yeah, like this..." continued Khenti, ears pulling back against his skull with a cocky grin on his features. "BAM!!!" they chorused, fur bristling the grin still plastered on there faces.
"Lack of discipline perhaps." said Mortil, looking down at the two pups. Dakarai stayed silent, ears pulled back in embarrassment, after a few moment he turned his eyes to Khenti, who looked chagrined. "Fhut's didiscip'lin?"
"Behavior in accord with rules of conduct." he said, turning to his brother, which looked even more confused. Khenti sighed with a grin. "Rules." said Khenti simply. "Dak, Khenti! Come now, form up! Honestly, I would've thought you had better ways to sneak up on us."
"We had." said Khenti, sounding offended. "We were hiding in a snow cave some distance away from the den. We were going to wait until you realized we were missing -or simply passed close to our location and then go ambush." he explained, waving his paws around signaling the great ambush that would have occurred. However he never pointed out how it was Dakarai's fault that the plan went wrong.
"If you remember, we have an appointment to tango." said Mortil, nudging NightBlood. Dakarai looked confused once more, thinking they were going to that that battle, but apparently now they were going to tango. With a groan the pup lowered himself to the snow, covering his ears with his over sized paws.
((AHAHAH, BAM! AHAHAH...Khenti sounds like a dictionary HAHAHHAH"

"I'm sorry, Momma... I, um... I just wanted to see you."
NightBlood gave a good-humored chuckle as she rolled her eyes, but nudged Tamarah affectionately behind her ear.
"You need to be less afraid of your uncle. He'd never hurt you intentionally."
"Eh, long story." Khenti answered after her inquiry.
"Bwut f'ere 'eere now!"
"Yeah, like this..." continued Khenti, ears pulling back against his skull with a cocky grin on his features. "BAM!!!" they chorused, fur bristling the grin still plastered on there faces.
"Lack of discipline perhaps."
"Hey!" NightBlood barked, insulted by the suggestion. She bared her fangs for a moment but laughed it off when Dak's voice sounded.
"Fhut's didiscip'lin?"
"Behavior in accord with rules of conduct." he said, turning to his brother, which looked even more confused. Khenti sighed with a grin. "Rules."
"Dak, Khenti! Come now, form up! Honestly, I would've thought you had better ways to sneak up on us."
"We had." said Khenti, sounding offended. "We were hiding in a snow cave some distance away from the den. We were going to wait until you realized we were missing -or simply passed close to our location and then go ambush."
"I believe he said to form an actual line," the Beta suggested, placing a paw next to the runt and matching his angle with Dak's.
"If you remember, we have an appointment to tango." said Mortil, nudging her.
"Me? Forget? Never!"
With that, Blood decided to jog the rest of the way to her den, leaving the others to catch up.

"You need to be less afraid of your uncle. He'd never hurt you intentionally."
'Intentionally' was a finicky word... Tamarah sat back and waited now, watching the scene play out. Her siblings could be so silly at times... she didn't fight the smile as she watched them. Dakarai's muffled words made her giggle faintly, eyes dancing with amusement, and Khenti's very smary-aleck responses to things were laughable in their own right, although she hoped he'd never realize she thought so. For a pair that had previously made her jealous, the two did have hidden ways of cheering her up.
The small female padded after her mother, attempting to keep very close to her left forepaw, as close as possible without being kicked or squashed. She glanced occasionally at Mortil, but this time, the fear had gone. She had decided that if her mother said he was worth trusting, she was probably right. These glances were to both reassure her mentally he wasn't a threat and to silently tell him that she acknowledged him so.
(Ugh, crappy post. >.<)
