Tall and lanky, but has the ability to fit into extremely tight spaces (its a breed trait). Markings: Black coat of wiry hair. Fur thick and rough. Lighter points on muzzle and legs, barely brushing his underbelly as well. Lightest areas on his face around his eyes and the tip of his nose. Dark black nose and paw pads. Eyes: Brown |  |

He will greet you with a smile, and maybe a few words, but you won't get much out of him. Most of the time he feels out of place and awkward, due to his larger size. He is careful not to knock things over, but sometimes he just can't help it. When he does get in the way, he apologizes profusely. Noble, kind, and loyal, Desoto is all that you would expect a dog to be. He knows the difference between right and wrong and is very aware of what he is doing. While he is used as a guard dog, he really couldn't hurt a fly (even if his size lets on he could). He may use his size to intimidate when needed, but more often then not he is very gentle. Desoto loves to explore and meet new friends. History: Desoto's mother was a breeder's dog that had gotten loose and gone wandering one day while pregnant. Unfortunately, she picked the day she went into labor to be too far away from home. She found a safe place to have her pups on a boat at a port in Ireland. After the pups were born, nursed, and safely asleep, she hid them carefully and went to her home to get her owner, to bring the pups back. While the mother was away the boat left, leaving the pups all alone. The four of them were found by the crew and hand raised. Now, the four dogs are used as guard dogs. They keep the boat and the crew safe from robbers and other bad people while they are docked. |
