I was playing around with shading for the new page, and I kept coming back to the cell style (or anime style, kind of like the shading I did in my "Last Stand" pic). I just couldn't stand the previous shading, as it made the characters look rubbery (first word that came to mind, sorry). So, here's what I have so far for page 9 in terms of shading, minus the rain. So, which shading style lookes better to you guys? Comments/suggestions/critique are greatly appreciated:D!

Stick with the cell shading, it looks really good in this picture, and still manages to not look weird with the background... and that's a good thing. ^^

I like the cell shading too.'
It fixes that worry you had about having the characters bleed into the background and get lost. The two figures pop nicely, without seeming superimposed...
Also, nice perspective. ^^

Very awesome!
Stick with the cell shading. Fits the comic and makes it look better, too.

Yeah, that's the main reason I want to go with the cellshading. In the last few pages, even I had a hard time distinguishing character from background^^'.
Thanks a ton for your opinions, guys:D!

Honestly, I thought your art was beautiful either way, but yes, cell-shading fits everything better. (:

I personally liked the old style of shading, but that's just me. It gave the page a rustic kind of look, and distinguished it from comics that use the cell shading.

I like it! Votes! It separates the wolves from the background! **Woots**

I like both... as Tonique said, the old style made it look different, yet the new one still looks awesome.

I think I prefer the cell shading (as I said before when you asked XD) I like it a little better becuase to me, it makes the entire setup look more like "a movie" and the characters do stand out more. It also just has a more professional look to it. Like it screams "I love my comic and I work very hard on it",^^ Not to say the last one wasn't bad, but I prefer the cell shading technique all the way!^^ Panel looks awesome by the way! You're sense of perspective blows me away!

I clicked scratchy, BUT how about a 'hybride' shading? I mean a mix of cell and the p.8 shading. Having the cell in main, witch would separate the characters and the bg, and also have a slight shadow of the artistic shading, which would keep the visuals - even more - uniqe. ...just a thought, if it's not an ash load of work.
(I know I'm late on p.9. What I said was about the rest...)

dont take this the wrong way or anything, but if you stuck with the anime style and not the cell style.. or what ever THE RAIN THINGY X3 but anyhow, maybe instead of just having the rain on the fur darken the fur and add a few droplets comming off of the fur. make it clump a bit more...darken it where the rain hits as well, if there's much movement and its just a little bit of rain there would be patches of dry and patches of wet fur....but im simply gonna tell you do go with what you feel is natural X3 you wanted my opinion so i gave it. Im not chewing you out or anything kay?

I think I voted for the cell shading on another account o.O But I like the scratchy shading because it goes really well with the background.
