Name: Ulixes
Gender: Male
Species: Hybrid
Breed: Timber Wolf/ Lapphund
Age: 2
Height: 2’4”
Weight: 55lbs
Pack: Geera
Rank: Adviser
Personality:
Reckless, hot tempered, and aggressive, these traits wouldn't be too uncommon for any young male except for the fact that the youth in question was also a certifiable genius. It would have been enough that the problem would have taken care of itself if he hadn't been smart enough to save his own ass. What's worse is that Ulixes knows he's smarter than pretty much most everyone around him and flaunts his intelligence; in fact, he's quite arrogant and he's self aware enough to say he is as well. He's shamelessly rude, protecting himself with sarcasm and a patronizing mannerism; though he can have a helpful and rather nice streak to him from time to time- especially if he can just flex his intellect and show off a little
Ulixes is very opinionated, a regular Victorian era anarchist, highly educated, but enraged, he cannot tell you what it is about his situation and the situation of society that makes him so angry, just, that it does. He feels he knows that the end isn't coming, but rather already happened, and now it’s just a matter of time before society crumbles...it’s already too late. The only thing you can do is treat each other with some decency before the inevitable. He's a strong believer that the only way to survive means treating others the same, hybrids and purebreds, but it appears that everyone else is too dumb to figure that out...that societal ignorance only serves to fuel Ulixes's arrogance.
Ulixes tends to be a bit irrational...and stubborn to boot. But he's smart enough not to spout this crap out in the open, or with company...it would take five minutes before he was up to his ass in wolves and dogs that didn’t share his opinions, he's pissy, not suicidal.
His greatest flaw is his inability to think things through as he usually gets caught up in theories and emotional responses as opposed to concrete facts and logic. And sometimes he gets a wee scatter shot when he does anything. In the long run he's nothing more than a normal impassioned teenage youth given far too much freedom to do what he wants. Looking more on ideals than anything else, he can be gullible and easily lead astray thanks in part to his pride, compliment him and he's can be quite malleable to your plans. On the other hand, he can equally be as stubborn as he is helpful towards anyone one or anything that disagrees with him.
As bad as his social skills are, it's not as though he wants to be alone. There is nothing Ulixes would like more than to be accepted among his own peer group. To have friends, people to hang out with. It's a pretty vicious downward spiral. Ulixes tries to make friends, his demeanor makes them shun him, and somehow he gets more antisocial in his behavior. So he's figured out how to amuse himself; often showing a front of being independent or comfortable with solitude. He'll often vouch for his own pride and comfort with the situation, commenting on the stupidity of other species. Of course that doesn't mean that he doesn't wish for an individual to keep him company. Though on the flip side, he cannot find it in himself to trust or open up to anyone anymore. Because in his mind, the closer you let someone get in, the more it hurts when they inevitably turn on you-just like his adoptive parents had turned on him.
It could be noted that as Ulixes gets older, and perhaps gains some social skills, charisma and a cause he can get behind he could be a force to be reckoned with, a revolutionary leader if he tried. But for now, he's a mere child, an angry, flailing child who is powerless to change the world around him; a regular rebel without a cause.
Strengths: A strongly passionate fighter, Ulixes is tenacious and does not give up until forced down. Outside of battle he’s incredibly intelligent and capable of some very brilliant observations and decisions.
Weaknesses: As smart as Ulixes is, he seems to be incapable of utilizing plans appropriately when in the heat of battle, and tends to come up with some very creepy ideas of what’s a good idea, and what’s a bad idea. He’s also a ornery mean spirited bugger…I mean seriously, who’d want to hang out with this pill?
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
What qualities do they look for in a mate: Someone who accepts him for who he is, the good and the bad, and to be happy with him, he doesn’t want someone to change him-if possible, an intellectual equal, but he won't give his hopes up…that would be far, far too implausible.
Mate: Ek (estranged)
Parents: Unstated
Offspring: N/A
Appearance:
Ulixes is a small male, and thin, but impressive in his own right tall for a spitz and short for a wolf. However it’s quite obvious that the canine will never win any beauty contests in his life time, his form is wiry muscled, long limbed and wide about the chest and shoulders with a long neck and a rather large head, his head is boxy, with a short almost fox-like muzzle and a liver colored nose. It’s often noted that Ulixes only has three expressions and the midranges between them, those are: irate, sullen and smug.
The hybrid’s hazel-brown eyes, are squinty, bloodshot and watery, its unknown whether he has some sickness or just doesn't sleep anymore...chances are, it could be any mix of both. His ears are small and triangular shaped, close to the skull and more akin to his spitz heritage than his wolf’s, there’s a chip taken out of the right ear as well as a few pink-white scars on his face, the most notable being across his mouth, giving him a permanent sneer.
Ulixes’s shaggy coat is a pale butter blond and auburn color, and the majority of his body is yellow, with white highlights under his jaw, two spots over his eyes, on his toes, his chest and his lower stomach and tail tip, a strip of auburn rests upon his head and stretches down to between his shoulders, its only seen again around his eyes, giving him a look of bags under his already tired looking eyes.
History:
A long time ago, at least in wolf years, Ulixes was born to a wolf mother, or at least, he thinks he was born to a wolf mother, he wouldn’t have known, since he was left at the mercy of his pack before he could ever imprint upon her. As a hybrid, young Ulixes was looked down upon for his impure breeding, his frailness in comparison to his full wolf pack. However his pack wasn’t one to let him go, he was still one of theirs, and they had put the effort in to raise him, he would made to be useful to his pack.
They were harsh on their regular pups, and even harder on him, a dirty half breed, he was often used as the combat dummy for most drills, not that he minded, he did however grow more and more withdrawn, taking everything that happened to him, and letting it fester, and rot, until he couldn’t stomach the thought of them. But he was certainly fond of putting on a happy face.
As he got older, he began to prove himself as an able warrior, just in spite of them, he was raised through what lower ranks he could, and excelled at everything thrown at him. He could not be the biggest or the strongest or the best…but he would always be the smartest, and for that…well he could always out think his problems and in the meantime, he kept to himself, out of the eyes of those who would do him harm if he were to do anything but his duties to the pack.
However, he didn't go life unnoticed, as he attracted the attention of another in his pack, and to keep it short and sweet, the two were close friends, and sure, he was forced upon him once, but over time, he learned to love him...as twisted as that seemed...but it certainly seemed to color his idea of love and romance oddly...
While many stories like this end in sadness, its a simple reason why Ulixes left his former pack and mate, not because of any violent upheaval or exile, but because of Ulixes, whose disgust and hatred for his packmates finally over flowed and one day just...walk out and never come back, perhaps he hoped that the other half of his genetics would be more accepting, or less distasteful, but after running with a dog pack and seeing much of the same...Ulixes found himself truly alone.
Which is something he hasn't exactly figured out if that's something he likes, but for now, the angry, disgusted and fuming hybrid wondering what to do next, or if he should do anything next, a large chip on his shoulder, he wonders...if anyone else had been in the same position he had been...though he doubts it...so now its just a matter of biding his time, until he can make his situation...nay...the situation of all rejects...better.
Theme Song:
They Might Be Giants- Impressed
I'm impressed, I'm impressed
When that gorilla beats his chest
I fall to bits
I confess
I admit; I'm impressed
When the torpedo in the vest barks his orders
I'm impressed
And I find that my head's nodding yes
Though my legs are not following
I'm inspired by events
To remember the exits in back of me
I'm impressed, I'm impressed
When that gorilla pounds his desk
I fall to bits
I confess
I admit; I'm impressed
Through generalissimo's request
I can't help but feel impressed
On the one hand he'll give you five good reasons to follow him
On the other hand you see nobody leaving the stadium
I'm impressed, I'm impressed
By that Godzilla's flaming breath
I fall to bits
I confess
I admit; I'm impressed
When the tornado from the west crushes buildings
I'm impressed
And I find that my head's nodding yes
Though my legs are not following
I'm inspired by events
To remember the exits in back of me
I'm impressed, I'm impressed
When that gorilla beats his chest
I fall to bits
I confess
I admit; I'm impressed
When the torpedo in the vest barks his orders
I'm impressed
I'm impressed, I'm impressed
