Hawk padded along the lonely dirt strip road, feeling the cool air of the wind blow onto his face. Last time he had seen another dog was when he was saying farewell to his brothers and mother. That was about two weeks ago and Hawk was beginning to feel the lonelyness of life by ones self. He gave a howl and continued on, the trail he was following looked as if it hadn't been used for quite some time. Dusk was soon approaching, Hawks favourite time of day; light enough to still see but the heat of the sun gone from the air. He breathed in the cool air and smelt something. He had a keen sense of smell; he could tell if another was in the area a kilometer or so away.
His walk soon turned into a cautious jog before the dirt road changed into cobblestones. The smells of a village up ahead made Hawk veer off into the forest instead of staying on the road. Up ahead he could see the entrance to the village and he stayed in the shadows to watch what the humans in this village were like.
When the light of day faded away Hawk proceeded to the entrance of the village and sat down once again. Lights from houses poured onto the roads, everything looked so clean and pure. It had been a long time since he had seen houses and people. Though his history with them was not one to be admired. Hawk wondered if any dogs lived in the village or near it. He gave a greeting howl to let any dogs know he was in the area. A man walked past were he was sitting and Hawk quickly ran to the nearest bush and waited to see if their was a reply to his call.

Chauncy was deep into a good sleep when he heard a howl break his concentration. With a groggy woofle the large pitmix shambled to his paws, a newcomer? Echo or Wesley would take care of it, they were alphas....
However it was late. And whomever it was wasn't exactly in town, he sighed, then shook his head. Whatever this was about, he'd lead the fellow to the alphas perhaps. Just for the quiet.
With a chortling yowl the large beast greeted the creature back, his voice coming more from the near village stream then than the village proper. It wasn't as though Chauncy had good relations with the humans himself. '

Hawk pricked his ears and cautiously stepped out from the bushes so this unknown dog could see him. He walked down to where the voice came from, "Hello" he greeted the pitmix, "I am Hawk" he said and eyed the sleepy looking dog. Hawk sat down, "Do you belong to a pack around here?" he asked, "I'm looking to join if you are". Hawk gave a large grin, showing the dog he wasn't vicious and kept his head lower then Chauncy's as a sign of submission.

A puppy? As Hawk slid out of the folliage Chauncy could only scoff that a pup had made its way to Hallow. He cocked his head, then smiled shaking in what seemed to be silent laughter. "I, uh...am Chauncy, from Hallow, which is, um, the packlands you just wandered into." It wasn't that the male's voice was stuttering, however his tone was slow and halting as though he was thinking of what to say.
Chauncy watched the gestures Hawk made, a little submissive, respectful pup behavior, the little fellow wasn't playing him false, he did want to be part of Hallow. "You wish to join Hallow? Well then...I have no issue about it." The pitmix yawned flashing a set of wicked teeth. "But in the morning, I'd introduce yourself to folks, let them know...well that you live here." Another pause and a moment to scratch behind his ears made Chauncy a little more awake then he was before.
"So Hawk, where did you come from? Why did you come here?"

Hawk listened to Chauncy with respect and kept his profile lower. Chauncy seemed to be stuttering as he spoke, Hawk didn't understand why, was he not used to pups? Though Hawk never considered himself one, his wolf mother had tought him that if he was to survive he had to act like an independent strong adult. Or maybe Chauncy was still tired and had to think of the right words to say. Hawk thought it might of been a combination of both but when Chauncy asked him a set of questions it was Hawks turn to stutter.
"So Hawk, where did you come from? Why did you come here?"
"Err, well" he began and cleared his throat, "I've been living in the forest about a mile or so from here with my mother and brothers but I, err, felt I was old enough to leave home and begin a new life somewhere else" he said, "And, umm, well I came here out of chance really" he said with a sheepish grin, "I kinda just stumbled onto this dirt road and followed it to here, looking for a pack that would let me join" once he finished he took a deep breath and kept an eye on the pitmix to see what he would say.

The bumbling tone of the pitmix wasn't so much that he was awkward, but that the beast tended to be a little punchy from his fighting days. He was just more slow and considerate of his statements. Chauncy watched the pup and tilted his ears. "So you've been traveling long...."
Really the scarred animal couldn't believe that Hawk would have wanted to leave a family, to leave what was known to go slauntering off into the unknown. "You must be brave to have left your tiny pack, all by yourself..."

"I've been traveling for about two weeks now" replied Hawk, straining to remember how long it had been. For some reason Hawk felt as if the pitmix didn't intirely believe him, he searched the older dogs eyes for some sort of sign of mistrust towards his story. Hawk continued on, a little slower at answering the questions, now preoccupied with tring to figure out why the pitmix didn't believe him. "Well I left with my brother" he stated, "Though he didn't want to belong to a pack, he would rather roam and be free then be tied down to taking orders" Hawk watched the pitmix's expression very closely, "I, on the other hand want the comfert in knowing I belong to something, knowing I'm useful in some way, roaming is fine for some but not for me" Hawk paused for a bit before continuing, "You see we grew up with a wolf mother, she tought us everything, I know she's not my mother, we look nothing alike and I have a vauge memory of living with humans. Although I'm not a wolf, I have learned from one and she has tought me and my brother well" Hawk kept his gaze transfixed on Chauncy's eyes, "Well anyway my brother and I split very shortly after we left the care of our wolf mother and I've been searching for a pack since then". Hawk looked at Chauncy, "I haven't seen my brother since and haven't a clue were he is, I'm not too sure if he's even still alive," barked Hawk and looked down at the ground, then quickly back up to the pitmix.

A look of alarm passed Chauncy's face as he saw the pup look anything but trusting, and a little bit distraught. "Now now, stay calm its alright. I believe you." The pit really had no sense of surface intentions, he was simple in many senses, so what the pup may have considered skepticism was little more than the dogs inability to express himself.
"I'm certain the alphas will let you stay. Even if you were raised by wolves..." he smirked, showing some signs of humor atleast. "So long as you aren't terribly naughty. Though that is...some story you have there." He shook his shaggy blonde head and shrugged. "Would you wish me to look for this lost brother?"
Chauncy had no concept that perhaps the other pup was dead, well atleast, that was the part of the story he wished to emit from Hawk's tale. Stupidity and heroism was the token flaws of the terrier, so even stomping through wolf territory to look for one little dog seemed in perfect sense to him.

"Don't trouble yourself, really" replied Hawk, "He knows what he's getting himself into and I'm not going to come to his rescue any more" dismissed the young dog. Hawk lay down, exhaustion clouding over him, "Would it be alright if I sleep here" asked Hawk, eyes already closing, "Though I don't want to trouble you.." he murmured and fell asleep in an instant. His tired muscles rippling under his soft fur.

((Sorry this reply took so long!))
"Kay." The big dog replied simply, circling a few times before lying down himself. He was comfortable atleast to trust that the pup wouldn't rip his throat out as he slumbered. It seemed that Hawk atleast felt the same about him.

((soooorry!))
Hawk woke and streched his legs. The morning sun filtered through the trees. He looked over to the sleeping pitmix and gave a small smile, 'survived another night' he told himself as he walked back to the entrance of the village, "i wonder were these alphas are" he said to no one in particular. Most humans were still asleep but the early risers were up and bustling about their normal daily rituals. Hawk gave a short bark, hoping another dog could hear it. He sat down in the bushes of the entrance and watched...
