It was early in the morning, when the exhausted dog finally stopped, her tired eyes looked at the Village ahead. She had heard only tales of what lay before her. She shivered and continued, maybe this was where her journey ended, maybe this was where she would live for the rest of her life. Enya, was this young sheep dog's name.
Enya stood up and continued walking, her sore paws slowing her walk. How long had she been walking? How far? These lands were unknown to her, but she kept moving. Maybe one day, one day, she would find her home. Enya sighed, as she walked into the village, she noticed only a few people were up and awake. It wasn't long before a little boy came over to pat her head. Enya felt some peace come over her, but the cruel mother took the boy by the wrist and pulled him away. Enya sighed her peace was taken away by memories of a cold master.
A warm breeze hit her face and she smiled to herself. Even though the air was different, smell and all, she felt she found the one thing that she missed most of all, a place to call home. Enya's stomach growled and she wandered into a random ally way, feeling a little lost, she decided to wait here until she knew what to do. Enya looked to the side and saw she was next to a butcher's house and freshly killed pork hung outside the window. Enya limped over, hunger became overwhelming.

Ooc: Sorry for the rush I've been busy lately
Echo, one of the two alphas of Hallow cheerfully strolled out of the butcher shop, a well-deserved steak bone clasped firmly in her jaws. People around the village always seemed so gracious towards Echo and her mate, also known as the other alpha Wesley. The two dogs together had created the humble little pack that lived in Hallow and governed it contentedly. The alphaess had just finished serving the portly butcher and his son with the daily chores of they're little butcher shop., which was how she'd come across her little reward of a steak bone. The female barked blissfully before turning to the outside world.
With a startled leap Echo saw the sheep dog approaching the fresh pork with a look of hunger in her face. " Miss, it'd be for the best if you did not take that, that would cost the butcher and his family grieve and debt for a long while. If you are in such need of a meal though, you may take this." The alpha smiled thoughtfully, dropping her steak bone and pushing it with her nose to the new arrival. The alpha never liked to have to get after other dogs but it did seem to be in her job description that if someone was doing wrong she must simply correct them. " While you enjoy that I'd like to welcome you to Hallow." The collie paused bowing. " I am echo the alpha of this small and humble ground along with my mate Wesley. Have you come in need of service or some sort of job I can help you with?" The female asked always trying to be as welcoming and tender as she could. The collie couldn't help be do for other all the time it was simply in her nature. Wesley first, everyone second, herself third.
The alpha looked over the new arrival carefully she looked friendly enough, strong and sturdy to. Echo hoped that this new female had come in search of her pack she always-loved new members.

Ooc: It's ok, everybody's busy lately. . . =)
Enya looked at the bone with hunger in her eyes, but she was slightly hesitant, why would a stranger suddenly treat her so respectfully? But then she remembered how wonderful the world could be, some people had a heart of gold. But then the iron fist of cruelty reminded her to be cautious. Enya suddenly realized she was being rude by not saying anything in reply.
"I'm Enya." she replied, lowering her head in a polite bow. " Thank ya for the bone ma'am. I'm afraid that I'm looking for a home, and I'm pretty sure you won't be lookin' for just any stray that happens to come by."
Enya sighed and gave her a tired smile. "But if yer willing to give a young pup a place to stay, it'd be a privilege to join yer pack." A small shiver of excitement fell down her spine, though she had heard tales of packs, she had never before joined one. But wait, it was Echo's decision if she joined or not, for all she knew, she might be seen weak in Echo's eyes. "I'd be willing to join yer pack, but I want to earn my keep. . .."
Enya looked at the alpha with hope, excitement, and worry, if she managed to make it in the pack, what good would a sheep dog be?

Ooc: sorry this is rather short, pressed for time once more.
“Well hello dear Enya.” The alpha smiled blissfully as the border went into a deep bow. Echo could tell this sweet heart would be a happily welcome edition to the pack. The collie grinned warmly and shut her eyes tightly, it was always nice when a dog was so humble but Enya needed to have more faith in her self or she could easily be corrupt. The smooth collie opened her eyes aging and sigh. “ It is remarkable how unknowing one can be, who says you are some random stray, in my eyes for all you know you could a savior.” Echo smiled tenderly what a kind dogs always seemed to choose her pack.
Echo looked t the pup with gentle eyes she could tell the border was tired.” You look like you have taken a long journey to come here, please correct me if I’m wrong with that statement.” The alpha paused staring at the kind pup. “ You are very welcome to join my humble pack.” She finished wagging her tail cheerfully.” You want to earn your keep? I am not certain I comprehend what you mean, please explain.” The alphaess gazed confused she was not certain any other mutt that had entered these grounds had ever said such a thing how remarkable this new comer was.
She had already been on Echo’s good side when she approached she was a herding dog like her self and echo knew the elderly herder would be happy to have two helping paws. “ By the way do you herd? I do myself and it just seems fit for you. I’m not meaning to judge but you are a border collie. If so maybe you could help me with my duties once in awhile.” She thought tenderly she always loved helping others and it would be a great way to show Enya around.

Enya gave her a grateful smile. She was slightly overwhelmed with the sudden welcome but it seemed to be what she needed. "You mean. . . ya herd?" she said, almost not believing her luck. "It's my favorite thing to do, well it's what I was raised to do. . ." Enya looked at Echo with excitment, herding again. . . Then she realized that she had forgotten to answer Echo's question about earning her keep. "Oh about earning my keep," she began, blushing for not answering her sooner. "I've learned a long time ago nothing's free. . . someone pays for it. I didn't want to put extra work on anyone over my sake. . ."
Enya looked at Echo, she was so excited she had almost forgotten her tired sore paws and spirit, it seemed close enough to be a dream. Enya looked at the alpha and hoped with her whole heart that she wouldn't change her mind and tell her to leave, which seemed unlikely but after the cruelity she had been through. . .

Ooc: Sorry for the wait and the shortness.
Echo beamed at the little bordered ecstatic reaction. How fun it always was to greet new comers. “ Why yes I herd, most dogs in hallow assist humans with the daily burdens they are obliged to do throughout the day and that one I help with.” The collie grinned toward Enya. Echo smiled warmly as the evening breeze rush threw her fur, which was rather refreshing due to the sudden heat from the fading sun.
Echo’s tongue lolled peacefully out of her open jaws. Many found this as rather rood and unlady-like jester, but Echo couldn’t help herself, she was hot and that’s all there was to it. In Echo’s sate of mind she didn’t find this anywhere near rude at all but slowly gazed at the new arrival. Perhaps this wasn’t wise to do in front of someone she had just met, perhaps the border would think she was a slop. Without a word Echo’s tongue slowly retreated back in her slender snout. “ I enjoy herding every much my self and was also loosely raised on the sport as well.” The Alpha gave a tender smile.
“ No dear one, you need not do such thing, if you simply do what you were born to do and herd you have herd already more keep for yourself than most the pack.” Echo could just imagine having someone to herd with her to help the elderly farmer when she was not able to or needed assistance.
The alpha looked the female over; she looked sore and tired with a loving beam the collie whispered. “ In such case dear Enya would you please join Hallow?”

Enya was a little surprised to see the alpha do something that was considered rude, but she couldn't help but not to blame her. The heat was almost enough to make her do the same. She politely dipped her head, excitement flowing through her bones. “ In such case dear Enya would you please join Hallow?” Her gentle voice echoed in her head. Enya was reasonable, she didn't want to join in to something so quickly without giving it a second thought, she tried to see any downsides, but it seemed perfect, maybe too perfect. Enya licked her lips and her eyes shone with happiness. "I would very much love to ma'am." she said, grinning.
Finally her long journey had come to and end. She was home. Enya looked at Echo with a second glance, her eyes dancing. "So where do I sleep?" she asked, suddenly worried she had relaxed too quickly.

A small smile brimmed on Echo's face, already she was starting to like this dog and she had only just met her. In a way she sort of reminded her of herself, for this dog knew she would have to pull her own wieght around here. "You look very tired," she sighed, metting the dogs heavy eyes with a look of pity, but not the kind given when you're looking down at someone, no, this was more of a "I know what you're going through" look. "I'm sure any of the humans would take you in if you make sure to work for them but as you said that shouldn't be too rough for a dog like you." she inquired, turning around and making slow steps down the road, leaving Enya to stare at her with a puzzle look on her face. "Coming Enya?" she asked sweetly.
(whoa... sorry that was so short but I gotta go to school know! ^^)

Enya dipped her head politily, hiding her pure excitement. She came over to Echo, her feet feeling lighter. Enya swished her tail side to side, wondering which human would adopt her, and if they would be the kind sweet human, or the dark, cruel human. She looked at Echo, following her down the road. "So, do you have a mate, or are you ruling this place by yourself?" Enya asked, wondering if she would have someone to meet. She knew that a female alpha leading alone was rare and in some places considered wrong, but Enya was still courious. A warm breeze swept past them, she felt like she fit in. As they walked down the road a few humans past them, seemingly not paying attention to them, Enya began to wonder if she was going to get adopted. . .

"Oh me and my mate Wesley keep the dogs in order!" Echo brimmed as she hopped down the cobblestone streets. A new wind was blowing, and things were starting to change. Silently the town began to welcome the new member of the small village.
