NightBlood frowned at the white wolf's questions. Did Archer not explain it thouroghly enough? She would continue his teaching. It seemed that this she-wolf had a bit more to learn.
"Sallin, as I've heard it, is a murderous pack of traitors and scum. NightShade and Kaine see it fit to kill or enslave every dog they come to, and they have an eye on Synl, a peaceable dog pack. We see this as very wrong. I'm sure Sofika and Karolek, my alphas, have other reasons for rallying against Sallin, but of them I do not know. All I know is: I don't like those who kill other species for pleasure or because they see something wrong with the breeds. It's sick."
Night looked from Archer to Myth. And back to Archer. Someone who had a grudge against Sallin and would willingly fight was very valuable indeed. Best not to leave him for other packs.
"Archer, for your vow, I accept you as a member of Arnlan. I'm sure you will prove your worth to the pack every day you take shelter here. You are welcome to explore your new home."
Blood turned back to Myth after giving Archer a slight bow. She stared hard at her, inspecting the white wolf. She wasn't much for fighting, at least, not like NightBlood was. Earlier, she had spoken of her intelligence. But after her questions, she through her words into sharp doubt. Then again, Night reminded herself, the first sign of intelligence was to admit you didn't know something. Pehaps there was more to this creature, but she would have to prove herself.
"As for you, Myth..." NightBlood searched her mind for something she wanted to know, eventually gave up, and fell back on what she needed to be reminded of, "Tell me what you know of the surrounding packs. Who are they led by?"
Night had learned the names of each leader through her travles but, as always, had forgotten them. She was sure she would remember if she heard them correctly.
