As the tan male shook himself while he growled, Haruko's ear caught a sound other than his jewlery clanging against each other. He turned his head and peered down the road, not that he could see anything. Rotating his ears, the wolfdog soon piced up on the sound again. Closer this time and painfully familiar.
clip-clop, clip-clop...
The sound of a horse pulling a carriage. Not good... at least, not for him.
"I don't think it wise to idle any longer."
With that, he left the three and dashed into the shadows. Ducking behind a tree and a log, Haru peered between the gap between the ground and the fallen tree. He would not be taken by surprise so easily again.

Nettle's gazed flickered slowly between the two dogs. Just as had been through out the whole little stand-off her expression remained blank, just verging on disinterested. The tense air that the other three held, injected individually by worry, confusion and anger, seemed to go completely unnoticed. Instead, she lazilly flicked an ear and continued to gaze ahead, her eyes glazing over as she let them unfocus. There was a sound approching. Something hard striking, alternatly, either something else hard or the mud. The strange wolfess had heard such sounds a few times in her travels. It was the big bulky creatures that they kept as slaves, and the gentle whirr that followed was the mechanics they attached to the massive domesticated beasts.
"I don't think it wise to idle any longer."
The monotonus female paused for a moment, as though she were lulling over Haruko's words. After a moment of this seeming contemplation she lifted he feet. Her speed was dawdling compared to that of the wolf-dog, her gait rather more a casual trot compared to his bolting. Still, she followed in his wake and eventually flumped herself near to his hidey hole behind the log. Beside him she lay lazilly on her belly, chin rested on the ground amongst a bunch of weedy greenery that had grown from the felled tree's misfortune, lapping up the nutrients it had leaked back into the ground. She gazed softly at them through heavy-lidded eyes, gentle breaths running in and out of her nostrils. No need to waste a moment. Would any of these be of use?
She hadn't noticed what Rusty and Ocean had gotten up to. For all she knew, they could've been sitting exactly in the same place, trying to pawn off their treasures to the people or carriage-dog as they passed.

Now calmed down, Rusty turned towards the noise. His ears perked up, and he pin-pointed the oh-so-familiar sound. He had heard it a million times, here in Kloteck, over in London, and also back in the States. It was just white noise to him now. He only took notice of it because the other two did. He watched Haruko dash away and then Nettle walk away, seemingly unconcerned as always. Did anything ever interest her? he wondered, while he watched the pair leave. Now was the time to decide whether to stay or find a place to hide for the time being. There weren’t a lot of reasons as to why they should run. The only ones that he could think of is that the humans had been there marks (although there was a one in a million chance of that) and they might capture the attention of the humans and have their ‘merchandise’ taken. They also could be taken for strays and be hauled off to be someone’s slave. None of those seemed appealing, so the mutt followed them, vaulting himself over the fallen tree, hoping that the others were smart enough to move.
Danny hadn’t been so quick, though. Still caught up in his contemplating what Nettle meant, he missed the wolf-dog’s statement. The others fled, while he still stood there. Neighing caught his attention first, then the clip-clop of the horses on the path. The jangling of Rusty’s trinkets was the only indication of the trio’s location.
He bounded forward, but not before the horses’ saw him, and neighed a warning to move or be trampled. For a moment he stared at them, like a deer caught in a car’s headlights, but then had enough sense to move. He wasn’t fond of horses. To huge and difficult to control for his liking. He sped away, his paws flicking up mud behind him. Through the brush and towards the log he went, finally skidding to a halt and then ducking behind it for protection.
Although they could do now was pray that they hadn’t been seen and that the horses would continue on. Except for Nettle, of course, who probably couldn’t care less.

Haruko watched as the female followed him. Under the shade of the forest, he could see the tan mutt take shelter as well. The black and red canine bit back a whimper as the darker of the mutts contemplated his desision. It probably wouldn't matter if he was seen unless the carriage happened to be that of a dog catcher's. It was unlikely, but still possible. Finally, the male moved for cover as the horses thundered by. Haruko gave a sigh of reliefe when the human driver took no notice.
As the carriage rolled away, Haruko lifted his head and peered around him. Next time, he might not be so luckey. He turned toward the forest. Although he wished to know why he was hunted, he stood a better chance of staying alive if he stayed away from humans and their inventions all together. There was no point in getting killed for curiosity.
"Continue your jurneys as you wish. My saftey is compromised here."
With that, he started off at a slow trot, allowing them to call him to halt if they wanted him to. If not, he would speed up and leave them all together.

Though an irritated ear was flicked at the breying of one of the massive beasts, Nettle remained unconcerned. The foilage, for the most part, had taken up her complete attention. Each species of plant had it's own distinct aroma that one of her knowledge found simple to pick apart - some were sharp and peppery, some gently smothered the senses and others still scratched the back of the throat. None, it seemed at this time, had a particular use - and so they remained firmly planted in the ground. The carriage rolled past with just as little attention from the she-wolf as it had been given previously.
Her attention was only diverted as the black and red wolf-dog spoke up. "Continue your jurneys as you wish. My saftey is compromised here."[/i]
Nettle rose slowly to her feet, flicking an unruly mat of fur from her face. Haruko's retreating figure held her gaze for a moment, but eventually settled on her own grey toes. She wriggled them gently, and her wicked grin returned to greet them. It was time for her feet to work again. Casting one last look to her companions, she continued on her own way. Who knew - maybe she would cross their paths again?
[Sorry sorry sorry sorry D:]
